Hey guys! In this video, I deadlifted 300 lbs again! 300 is my deadlift max, and I hit that a year ago a block before my knee injury. So I'm really glad I'm back to where I was for deadlifts, and it also moved better than it did last year.
I also got a new addition to the home gym: a cable/pulley tower! I got the Titan short wall mounted pulley tower v3 (link is below), and I go over how I assembled it and my thoughts on it.

That pully function is interesting, in my gyms and there are more than one, I would have to change the resistance to switch from one hand to another.

Like the Titan set up you have. Space though, I lack sufficient room for that but great set up anyway.

Lucy, I can't overstate how much I admire you! I have some questions if you don't mind: I'm a 74 yo male 170lbs, but I'm extremely weak due to my age and indirectly a shoulder injury 6 years ago. Otherwise I'm reasonably healthy, the only thing I have going for me is the desire to lift more weight! I have chronic back pain like many people my age. Because of my injury six years ago I've become a 6 year total couch patoto which is one half of the problem. You and others have inspired me to do something about it. I started out at 66 lbs deadlift (that is not a misprint.) I have slowly and painfully increased my DL to 95 lbs as of Mar 10, 2023. You are currently 3 times stronger than me, on DL. which is very emarrassing considering I'm a male, much heavier than you, and yet I have less than 1/3 the strength of a 18 year old girl! Do you have any tips for me, other than eliminate my lower back pain (I'm seeing a physical therapist but so far it has not helped). I've had this pain since 2019 and I'm afraid it will stop me dead in my tracks. All comments are welcome, but I really don't care about squats or BP unless they can somehow help my DL.

P.S. In nov 1988, I deadlift 250x1, and benched 171x1 with no arch in my back because I was ignorant as to correct form. In those days there was no internet or social media to spread valuble info. When I was 25 yo I could do 10 pullups in 13 seconds on my home made pullup bar. My BP peaked at 171x1 at age 45, which is average for a 150 lbs male. I'm posting these numbers only to prove that I'm about average for my gender in terms of strength, weight, and genetics. I've never been overweight due to my love of bicycle racing. Hope this helps.

do you lift with a powerlifting belt? that should help you. a good belt will help you use and train more of your core, at the same time as keeping you safe. depending on where the pain is, like at the bottom of the lift or the top of the lift, you can try pulling on blocks or a rack, so you can train in a painless range of motion

It’s so cool your competing in state I have a couple of questions though * Although Im a decent lifter I’ve never competed before do you have any coach recommendations and do you feel it’s needed having a coach for your 1st meet * One of your meets you stated that you were below 63kg but you still competed in that weight class. I’m still a little confused if I signed up for a specific weight class but I’m below the weight standard can I still compete in that weight class/ would that work if I was above the weight class? * Are you doing Georgia state championships or it for another state? Thank you in advance, you are a very strong lifter keep it up

for coach recommendations, I recommend my coach, but he's in California. if you want someone to coach you for a meet, then try finding a coach in your area. You don't need to have a coach for your first meet; I competed in my first few meets and a nationals without a coach. the benefits of having coach is that they can peak you well for the meet. at the meet, its just handling. If you have a friend that has competed before that can handle you, then that's what you want to look for if you can't find a coach. that way, they can help you time and load your warmups, make sure you're following the rules, and help you make attempt calls. for weight classes, I now compete in female 60kg, which means all females who weigh between 56.1 kg and 60 kg (56 is the weight class below). so im around 58 now, but I would still compete in the 60 weight class. if I weigh in higher than 60, like 60.1, then I would compete in 67.5. so weight classes are that number and under. and yes im competing in Georgia states. let me know if you have any more questions; ill be glad to help!

I didn't do any sports before lifting weights, so I didn't have a very good sports background. So I started with fa 95 lb box squat, 45 lb bench, and 115 deadlift. I have a video of my 2 year powerlifting transformation with my earlier lifts.
