I have no idea how I got this suggestion, but it made me chuckle watching it. I stay at home most of the day due my disability. It has been like this for 12 years now and in the beginning I was horrified how I be able to get through the day without work and all that. I spend most of my time watching youtube, playing silly games and read tons of books. And that besides house chores and keeping in touch with family and friends. Over time it shifted without me really noticing. Now I automatically fall into a schedule depending on the daylight. Sometimes I have to look for my phone simply because I can't remember where I put it the last time I used it (which can easily be a week ago). My computer is mostly used to write these days. I watch a TV show, movie or YT for a bit, but after 2 hours tops I get tired of it. Before I often went to bed exhausted and when I laid in bed my mind started racing. What have I planned for tomorrow? Did I do everything I needed today? And then in the morning I needed 2 alarm clocks and I had to drag me out of bed. I was described as a serial killer before my 3rd cup of coffee by people actually liking me. Now I go to bed when I get tired or when the sun disappears. And I wake up without any alarm either when it is start to brighten outside or after 7 or so hours automatically. And I actually feel energized. My social circle had to relearn my new schedule too. I wont call them unless it is important or we haven't spoken in a while. And they stopped texting me unless it is the same. Emails I check once every 3 days. My chores are easily done with plenty of time to spare for me to go for a walk or sit down to write my thoughts or little short stories (a hobby I had back in high school before I simply didn't had time for it anymore). If someone would have told me this 12 years ago I would have thought of that as lunacy and impossible. Now when I hear my friend or family complain about their stressful lives I secretly think that of their ways. So.. try it for a month next time and see what will happen 😉

The point your making around 3 minutes is actually very important. Its something I noticed too and think people should pay more attention to.

Good challenge. For real there is smartphone addiction (as one part of your challenge). The figures are crazy how often some people check their phone and: they don't realize how often they do it. On a detox they might get agressive not being able to check any smartphone. Did u known you can get poisoned by drinking water. More than 10 liter is poison to your body. So for Dopamine it's the same: Too much or being addicted in a bad way is bad .. doing laundry is not the worst effect LOL. And in my mind it is bad as well doing something without realizing it. Realize there is a real life with real weather (sunshine or rain) .. so every screentime as okay as long you don't forget this 🙂 -- I like your videos as other 643 subscribers do + more viewers which don't subscribe 🌻🌅🌞⛅🌦🌞🌄

You should try to travel during the dopamine low period. Go to the wellness center, there's Thermen Soesterberg near Amersfoort. Or Amersfoort to Naarden by walk or bicycle. Meditation helps to recalibrate the stimulation sensors. Next video topic?! Continue, it's great

Meditation is definitely helpful with that. Maybe a good topic for a future video indeed 😊

Great to see how you analyse what you experience and especially how you express it so clearly and objectively, it is a particular talent I think... Special to watch. Talking about music: I saw this nice guitar in the background and saw you dusting off a nice guitar amp. It made me wonder: did you feel like playing guitar using the creative boost you felt? Just curious
@Lynneverly28 күн бұрын
Thank you! If I had any musical talent, I definitely would have! The guitar isn't mine haha. I'm personally more interested in writing, storytelling and filmmaking when it comes to creativity 😊

Dopamine can be generated also from food and new clothing. Money sure gets around. No dopamine from learning and violence these days for some reason.

Just pick up that Les Paul (?) and turn on that Vox amp 😅

Unfortunately, I have no musical talent ;)

I dont think a book or ereader is stimulating if you read fiction books (like Cassandra Clare books). I find it relaxing before i go to sleep.. its way better then looking at a screen with YT.

I agree with you. I like reading and I don't think it's a bad thing at all. But I wanted to challenge myself to deal with a lot of boredom for this, so that's why I also excluded books.
@Naguib55Ай бұрын
Why no reading though? I don't think the point is to be bored and have nothing to do but to avoid quick dopamine fixes. Laptop for work should be fine too but once you open it may be hard to control work vs watching content.
@LynneverlyАй бұрын
I get what you are saying, but I really wanted to challenge myself more than that for this and really experience true boredom. Otherwise I just would have been reading all day and it wouldn't have been that difficult :)
