@@GT-tj1qg yeah, because that's what they are under KC guidelines. People call them "golden" for some reason and I get why, but some people might think that you're talking about a golden retriever instead of a Labrador. Even "red" is technically yellow, just a darker shade.

We had a Rottweiler/Pit Bull cross that would indeed greet a burglar with a wag of her tail and some kisses then lead the burglar to where the treats are stored THEN to the valuables.

Well that's true. I came home to find my lab happy as can be, burglar upstairs.... They say a dog, any dog is a great early warning system, but once someone is inside - because we train them that anyone inside should be welcomed - they have learned that the person must be ok because they are in. My lab has scared away a handful of people from the property, which once resulted in an arrest by police. But this burglar had the run of the place because he broke a back basement window and appeared as already in.

Giving them the attention they want when they are behaving positively is a GREAT way to keep them properly socialized and well rounded. I hope you keep on doing your thing, because people tend to forget just how impactful those moments can be on children.

This brought back a memory. One hot summer when i was a kid we had the back doors to the house open to let the air flow through. Suddenly a massive golden retriever just happily ran into the house and flopped down in the living room Infront of a fan. No collar, no tag. Being 9 i immediately asked if we can kept it. Our own dogs didn't seem to care one bit, we're happy to have another friend. We kept 'Goldie' for an hour until their frantic owners were spotted with a lead an empty collar knocking on neighbours houses.

There is no greater feeling than being approached by a random dog who wishes to play with you. I was approached by a beautiful dog whilst out for a walk, its owners were close by but it chose to come up to me and drop the stick for fetch. They are too pure for the world.

Our neighbor had an old female Black Lab that everyone on our street loved. One day one of our Siamese cats got out of the house and another neighborhood A$$ hole dog off leash went after it. I saw this first hand, that Lab went after that other dog with a vengence, I mean teeth out, bad ass, chest out, barking loudly and fought off that dog to save our cat. I got our cat in the house, went out and hugged that Lab with all I had. When she passed on to old age and cancer, as a 14 year old boy, I cried my eyes out. I lost a best friend. Over the years I have had to put down my own pups due to old age. Gut wrenching and I cannot go through that again. Remember, All Dogs Go To Heaven!😇

Labs are some of the friendliest dogs I ever met. I was helping a friend or a friend by walking their black lab a few times. The first time I met her was when I let myself in the owner's house (I was given a key) to take the dog for a walk, and I was nervous because I was enterring the dogs home too. But when I opened the door I was met with a wagging tail and a very happy girl. They're honestly the best.

i LOVE when dogs just come up to you to say hi. i was at a park with my boyfriend not too long ago, and at some point this dog ran up to me out of nowhere all happy, smelled my shoe, and left. it did it again as we were leaving. it didn't acknowledge my boyfriend at all, i felt like i was the chosen one

That's pretty typical of every lab or golden retriever I've ever encountered. They're such great dogs. Super friendly & playful (even with strangers), more often than not. My cavoodle (aka cavapoo) loves meeting them. 😊🐶❤
