Some folks were a bit disappointed last year during the 50 State Shred when my only stop in Missouri was in Backyard Trail Build's backyard. So this time around I figured I would go ride some public trails as I make my way across the country. The Blue River Parkway had a few double black trails listed on Trailforks and that was good enough for me!

I’ll preface this by saying what I’m about to share may be viewed as cheesy, but it’s true none the less. Thanks for the content you create; it’s brought much joy into my life as of late. I’ve recently been in some dark places (emotionally and mentally), but mountain biking has been such a wonderful activity I’ve recently started. Your videos have fueled the flames of that joy, and inspire me to get out on the trail and do some riding! Keep it coming, and thanks again!

Keep riding brother. There are so many of us who are going through or have gone through what you are and MTB is the perfect outlet. When you think about it, on some level, Brian started the channel for the same reason. He hated his desk job. He loved MTB and that's what made him happy... so he made a life out of it.

A while back one of the sites asked users to describe what MTBing means to you in two words or less. Mental health was the number one response. As they say - "When you are going through hell, keep moving".

Thanks for sharing. You rode all the OG stuff. There's more than double what you rode heading north. A couple of notes, if anyone is interested: - The notch you rode up on Wagon is called Butterfly Run. We spent at least 5 man-hours debating on whether we could save a specific tree. At the time, a gal named Butterfly made national news protesting against logging on the West Coast. So that section of trail was named in her honor. - Thanks for picking up the glass. That part of the trail crosses an old homesteaders dump. The glass and metal leaches out of the trail on a regular basis at that spot. - As a selfish side note, it was really cool seeing you feature most of BRP that I helped design and build (the old sections). You're a really strong rider and your lines were generally right on. Very impressive for someone riding on a first pass.

So exciting to see a great vid like this! I was involved as the tail steward from the beginning in the mid 90s until 2009. And it's so great to see someone really enjoying the trail (although, super props to the trail steward who really kicked it up several notches since I passed on the reins).

I was hoping he would make it further north, too, but I gotta tell you, I always just walk up Butterfly (hardest part of Wagon) to spare my energy for highline. He made four runs at it and then cleaned highline PLUS rocky top and THEN the other direction UP those features on basement.. The guy's a machine.

If you stop in the St. Louis area I'd ride Bluffviews new flow trail down, up Zombie West, down Zombie East, and back up Bluffview. We ride it weekly. Even in the dark and when it is covered in snow. A less know, but fun trail with a mix of terrain and features is Forest City in St. James. It is about an hour West of St. Louis.

Ahhhh, the good old Arrowhead Spider (Triangle Orbweaver). It seems like 90% of the webs crossing the trails are this species. One reason I'll wait till late morning to ride our trails.....so the early riders break all the webs. BRP isn't my favorite, but when I go there, I'll ride the north loop. Good video BTW.

Stoped in Moab for my last ride at Navajo rocks ( fun and challenging )

Shepherd I've heard is packed with rough technical features and of course, the iconic corkscrew from Backyard Trail Builds. Zombie is my NICA team's local spot, its got miles of technical goodness with berms and jumps throughout. The other interesting part of Zombie is its connection to the future Bluff View Bike Park which is gonna get some new flow and technical directional trails. It's already gotten the first jump trail which is pretty nice. Love the videos
