I was the one that bought the greeny model. 😀 Edit: Came in today... kind of a crazy top. Definitely has the shatwank* effect. Plays very good and the pickups are just dripping with tone. I think I've been bitten by the Gibson bug.

Just learned from the recent Andertons video where they visited the Gibson factory that the headstock veneers are Phenolic for standard production, also adds strength and Pear wood for Custom Shop/ Historic

Converting the price to USD should really have the 20% vat removed. That firebird was really about $5300 if you could buy it in the US since we would not get charged vat.

I tell you one thing about that first guitar if I would've found an actual Studio in that finish before I bought the one I've got I sure would've looked into it. That Epiphone Casino must've been the American made model. I liked the way they refinished it . It's opposite the finish on mine. But the knobs and pickguard are stock. Would've been cool to see the knobs black or even do bothe the knobs and pickguard in a stained wood.

Just to let you know. Anderton's did a Gibson tour a week ago. The plant manager of Gibson said clean and out right, the Mahogany they are using is not Honduran anymore. They are sourcing from South America, Fiji, and Africa now.

I just don't like dubble cut away Les Paul. To me it's not a Les Paul with two cut aways. Juniors either. Nice guitars, but not a Les Paul. But it could only be me that feel that way.

Richlight feels so nice. I don't understand why it would be a deal breaker if you would go for a lesser wood like dyed ebony, Indian rosewood, or laurel. It is no dark ebony or figured streaky/pale ebony, but not the worst thing you could have at that price point.

Got a brand new SG in 2021. The intonation was so bad it was unfixable. Had to return it. Zero chance that passed QC, leading me to believe they are not checking wvery guitar that goes out.
