In todays video 3 new purchases arrive in the yard - but what did we buy?! I was dead against the first thing we bought but it's been a while since the decision was made and i have to admit Father Phil was right, we'll need it this year! The other 2 purchases also make their way home.

We had a 500 bushel dryer like that about 50 years ago in the USA and it worked great. Identical but they were brand name of Toxowick grain dryers. One concern in the shed it will condense on the roof and drip everywhere in the shed and may rust your roof and frame of the shed and drip on the dry grain Phil. Thank you for another great video and sharing your life with us and I am in Minnesota USA..

You may get on to some local fabrication company and get some silage sides and tail door made up for the silage.

Last Farm I worked at late 70s got 1 of those dryers good bit of kit but grain got burnt a couple of times when an internal chain would break in the bottom which stopped the grain circulating before it went up the auger. Probably improved since then but don't leave it unattended to long and keen sense of smell for burning grain is your early warning. 👍

Also we had it set up outside as it generates a lot of steam drying the grain out, also for the dust and tractor fumes driving the pto. 👍

You’ll need a wee hopper to place over the grain intake. Speeds things up immeasurably

Phil I think the Massey Trailer is the same as the blue one in Background? Marston, I think? Freeze at 11:30 and you can see the same fishplate on the side of the chassis frame.

Get Fr Phil to build a tipping hopper over the screw feed hopper for that dryer or buy a cheap one off done deal, if there is a cheap one !!!

AHHHH i see whats going on...... Now there is an excellent excuse for more tractors....😂😉.. I will be keeping an eye on the dryer work as we have thought about getting a small mobile dryer for some time.. gas or deisel fired is still up for debate though... . Stay safe 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Nice drier had one 30 years ago. The auger filling the drier is slow to fill. We took it off and just a 6 inch portable auger to fill it ,much faster and could set it up to fill in a more suitable place and make it more efficient

I see the Triffitt trailer was originally from Northfield Agricultural Services who sold quite a lot these over the years just next door to us in East Yorkshire. We had 3 ourselves.

Nice looking trailers should be able to move the grain a bit better, hope they can fit into the shed when lifted.. The hydraulic rear gates are great. used to borrow a neighbors one back in the 90's when they were few and far between and it made drawing silage and grain so must easier, used it for dung as well and much quicker. i know its a bit late now but would it not have been easier to pull the 2 trailers together? most trailers have a hitch nowadays.

Nice one Phil The man who stands still is going nowhere, you have to invest and push on. Greedy boards are old school, I'd be interested to see how many ton of wheet the MF can hold, it's probably engineered for a max tonnage and going that bit extra might be the straw that breaks the camels back, if gredy boards were only used to load the trailer to its design capacity and stop any falling off coming out of uneven ground, fair enough but once you fit them you'll need greedy boards on top of the greedy boards to prevent spillage, in other words, leave the trailer original
