I DISLIKE the WLTOYS v2 Brushless Models! But Why? (READ COMMENTS!)

I recently posted my Top 10 Cheap RC Cars of 2022 video and straight away people noticed I didn't include the WLTOYS 124016 or 124017 anywhere on my list.
Well there is a reason for this I am not a huge fan of those models most importantly because I feel they should have spent more time in the beginning getting things right with proper quality control instead of throwing together a product and hoping for the best!
WLTOYS have had some great releases over the years and the V1 124017 and 124016 where very disappointing so much so I refused to review them on my channel!
In this video I give you my reasons for disliking these models and explain why I didn't include them in my latest Top 10 video!

I do agree that better quality control with their models would have been good so there would be no problems in the first place. But stuff happens. I'm glad they fixed the problem and put out a v2 in just a few months. It shows they care about the product and feedback. Many larger companies would release a product and just leave the problems for years before they came out with a v2. This situation gave me a better opinion of wltoys not a worse one.

Agreed. Any company that responds to feedback gets a positive remark from me. I’m too used to the gaming industry where the big names like EA and Activision ignore their customers completely for the $$$

Wltoys 124017 V2 first car I've owned. Has given me nothing but joy in hard-core bashing. Have no complaints against it at all. Rebuild, Bash, Repeat. It was a sad day when I went to the RC store to see what they had. Browsing their parts selection. They basically called my car trash. Lol. Sad to see people hold a grudge...

From a cheap chinese brand i would expect that they don´t care and just go on selling the bad v1. But they made a v2 and that pretty fast, at least in my eyes.

As we discussed the other day I have to agree with your frustration Ricky, I was very disappointed with the original 12th scale brushless models, especially the 124016 desert buggy in which I had no problem to tell my viewers not to buy it and also left the purchase link out of my videos descriptions. Yes the V2 was much better as they did fix all those issues....BUT , they should of done some proper QC before releasing and selling any of their models. What I would like to see from WLtoys as a company going forward this year in 2022 is to go back to their originality and design and start manufacturing their own unique models rather than just copying other companies like LC Racing as they have done with these buggies over the past 2 and a half years. I would like to see them concentrate on larger brushless scale models starting from 1/10 and 1/8 scale, and lastly to stop with the misleading info of max speeds and sometimes even the true size and scale on the box and spec sheets online, it’s getting rather old now. Couldn't agree more Dave and thanks again for the footage. Telling viewers not to buy a product is something we shouldn't have to do and that is unfortunate. I am glad we both agree quality control was the issue here and it could have been easily solved before shipping thousands of cars all with the same issues. The v2 was released soon after the v1 to correct a huge mistake which they knew they made! The speed claims and scale claims are driving me mad mate. Clearly not everyone agrees with our opinions on this topic but it seems we are some of the few who will be straight up, no lies and no promoting a sub optimal product just to generate sales. Honesty is always important! Much appreciated mate

Even name brand RCs have quality issues and some don’t even address it. WLToys addressed the issue and re-released within a month. IMO they did great and I look forward to see what they continue to release!

They didnt do great at all if you ask me! imagine how many cars with dry diffs they have sold.I opened the diffs after 1 run with my 144001 and it wasnt greased at all.People that dont know about this problem will not open and grease the diffs.If this is your first rc car and you dont know about this, you will be very disappointed.it would be better if the car came as a kit instead.Have anyone checked the diffs in The V2? all these problems that is fixed is from complains from buyers of the V1.

@@andrewtull341 I got the v2 of the 124017 and my diffs were greased, maybe not as packed as I would like, but def greased and the shocks weren't over or under filled, no cogging issues either. The real issue I had was the plastic diff housings. One straight on smack of the half inch bumper the thing comes with, and all that force goes to the metal shocktower, which transfers that force right to the top of the diff housing. Which, as I mentioned, is plastic and just rips the top right off of it every time. Swap to metal housing, and a larger but still plastic front bumper that sticks out a little further than the shocks, and you gotta winner.

@@conandude76 oh my God that's EXACTLY what has just happened to me. To be fair I drove it straight under the rear tyre of my parked car at 40 mph,so if was totally my fault. I've just ordered another housing ( plastic replacement though ) as I didn't know this was a common problem. Had I read your comment two days ago I'd have ordered a metal one. I guess I'd better order a metal replacement as well if this is a common issue

The V2 is an ABSOLUTE BEAST!!! I have the 124016 and.... holy crap!!!!!!!!! I have added a LOT of weight in metal parts including the steal diff covers!!! and it DOES NOT cog on stock on 2S batteries and gearing!!!! I'm going to actually go down in teeth maybe 1 or 2 teeth, with a 3S battery is going to be the end all be all!!!

Bruh , i have the V2 and i love it.... i got a 3s battery and that thing rips ... that said before you use it make sure to check all screws and grease those diffs

I think it's pretty annoying that WLToys sent out v2's with no 3s lockout for reviewers and now all the ones that are being sold don't work with 3s.

That's sad that a grudge is stoping you from a honest review of a toy.... and NOT the company! Get your priorities straitened out! .....because I actually liked this channel up until this moment

I'm a man of principle. If my fellow rc youtubers have all said the v1 is plagued with issues I certainly wasn't wasting my time or effort on it. Its my channel and I can decline or accept models to review. I like them as a company but I'm not the sort of person that will simply ignore issues just to promote and generate sales through affiliate links I am a honest guy and happy to speak my mind and give my opinions. My priorities are straight as can be or I wouldn't have made this video 🤣

it was very soon after the initial release of the V1 too! How frustrating for the V1 owners. Exactly why I find it hard to support the v2 .

I agree with you on the V1's issues, but they quickly released the V2 which sorted all of them. Other well-known non-chinese companies would never do that - they would continue to sell the V1 car for years without fixing these issues and would expect from you to sort them out. So in my mind WLTOYS is a very good and flexible RC manufacturer. In any case, thank you for the video :)

Fair cop,.They were quick to fix the cogging issues on the brushless versions yet they're still pumping out some 124019's with almost no oil in the shocks or diffs and stripping the heads of bolts/screws at the factory. Had a fun time the other day trying to get that pinion gear off the brushed motor and the little screw securing the rear diff gear snapped when I heated it up and tried to undo it. Start giving the cars proper names too instead of numbers, you see peoples eyes glaze over when they ask what car that is and you say "well it's a WLToys one two four oh nineteen". WL don't realize just fixing a few simple things would gain them so much more respect and get way more sales.

My best buy this year a wltoys 104001 great looking 1/10 scale I replaced the motor and esc for brushless and having a lot of fun for cheap

Very fair and valid opinion. This is the kind of discussion that can only help the company and its customers. It's not bashing them, it's constructive criticism to try n steer their products to be better.

Hy, I am from Bangladesh. I want to buy wltoys rc car. 124019 and 124017 will cost almost same to buy. But in many video shows 124017 have cogging issue. So should i go for 124019? I can also go for 144001 which is slide less from them. Suggest me 144001/124019/124017

You get what you pay for .. too many you tubers getting crap for free play with it for 5 seconds then say its great !! yea too bad by 5th time you use it the plastic all wears out and you need spend more money on a few parts than the entire car cost.

Yeah I do see where you're coming from, I bought a v1 and the cogging was pretty bad, but despite that I had loads of fun with it as it's the same proven platform. I have since fixed the cogging with a 15T pinion and a 4400kv motor to the detriment of top speed which is now 52kph vs 69kph with the stock setup. I might go to an 18T pinion, but I'm not sure yet, I use it for casual bashing and not for speed. Now looking past the initial disappointment, they could have just ignored the situation altogether, but they didn't, they addressed the issues and quite quickly. So I have to give them credit for that.

speed is nothing without control (a famous tire brand ). If the rc is fast but has a lot of lag it simply destroy the driving pleasure. Personally, i prefer something with good control and reliability over something fast but with issues. Totally Agree with your opinion!

Thank you and I couldn't agree more ! The hbx 901a that I love at the moment is a perfect mix of durability and performance. Not always about going fast. The v2 Brushless variants are clearly very fast but there is more to it than speed 😎👍

I'm a relatively newbie in RC again since I stop playing early 2000 (Tamiya era) and would like to purchase a cheap " new gen" RC to test the waters again. I would like to ask your subjective honest opinion , without the recent wltoys dissapointment, which of the two candidates I've chosen would be a better buy, the HBX 16889A Pro or the WLToys 124017 V2. I am looking at a durable, fun and low maintenance stock RC and not looking to upgrade soonest. Hoping you hear me out. By the way, you won a subscriber here for being an honest reviewer and not swayed by manufacturers benefits.

He cannot honestly answer you mate as he's said he's never tried the version 2 on principle. I was into rc 30 years ago and I've just got back into it. I've got the wltoys 124017 v2 and it's brilliant, 40+ mph straight out the box. No cogging or range issues and yes they do now grease the.diffs ( showing they listen to feedback) I haven't tried the HBX but the wltoys is brilliant, loads of fun and performance and it can be improved on. It will take 3s and obviously you can change the ESC and motor and do loads of upgrades. There are plenty of people that have turned them into 100+ mph speed run cars. But it's a great basher if you just leave it stock. The v2 has a more powerful motor but it's geared down ,so it's the same top end as v1 but thanks to gearing it down it accelerate a lot better. I'd personally recommend it BUT saying that I can't compare it as I've never tried the HBX. but off it's own back it's a great first car to get back into the hobby and really cheap for what it is,most comparable cars are twice the price. Don't know if I'm well to late as you posted a couple of months ago but if you're still undecided or if you went with the HBX I'd really recommend getting the wltoys as well

This kinds of video I think is important. If we want this brand to be good then we have to criticize them. I remember back then when Wltoys was just a cheap throw around brand nowadays this Wltoys is the go to recommended brand when starting out the RC hobby. We don't want new people to have a bad experience with their first RC and we really do want to have better products from them.

I totally agree with you. From the start the brushless versions of the 124019 and 18 had me asking "Why". The best part of these cars was they were fun platforms to improve upon. Making the brushless took that fun away and jacked the prices :( Then the cogging issues happened with no support for loyal customers who preordered :( Bad WLTOYS Keep the honest reviews coming!

Absolutely, and I don't expect everyone to agree with me, although I'm sure the v1 owners will 100% agree 😭. This is why I enjoyed the 144001 they were a great cheap platform we could make our own with out own components the brushless versions took the fun element away 😕

I pre-ordered v1 and they will send u the new motor free if u send a video of the car being junk even though they know every single one of those v1 where junk... but they need that video

it's really bad.And they knew about the problem, but just continued to sell them.I will buy the lc racing version.Tired of the wltoys 144001 and the bad quality plastic parts they use.When they upgraded to brushless motor, they continued to use the the 27t pinion from the brushed motor.Didnt they try the car and noticed the cogging? They didnt grease the diffs either.So if this is the first rc car you buy to get into the rc hobby, you will be very disappointed.The first thing you MUST do when you take it out of the box is to grease the diffs.My diffs didnt have any in them.

If you buy youll need a program card for the esc. The brake slams into place. Also if you let go of the trigger for a full second or to, then the brake egages automatically.

I have the version 1 of the blue one and on 2s I actually was able to get 50mph but I also had a freshly paved road and I tuned the car to make it lower (all you need is 4 screws to stance this buggy and it can get really low) with no bumps to test it on, 3s was a different story I don’t remember exactly how much faster it was but it was way faster but it’s also risky you can’t run 3s too long because your esc will smoke within a hour or two like mine did

They should have offered a free motor and gearing upgrade or money off the v2. I get they fixed the issues with the v2 but the owners of v1 had to deal with it or spend more upgrading themselves. Unacceptable

I bought a version 2 from banggood and was sent a version 1. They made it impossible to get a refund or return. Totally dishonesty and I hope KZfaq stop promoting for them

So, version 2 isn’t on the list because version 1 was bad? Even though version 2 fixed the issues from version 1 and added a brushless system on top of it…🤔

read some of my previous replies and you will get an idea as to why i have never supported the v2. Long story short it was my personal choice and i found the whole situation very unfortunate for the v1 owners who were left with an useable piece of S***! No good will gesture by wltoys to replace the issue for free instead they offered an upgrade package which cost even more money. I will never support poor business choices or failed customer service. Some channels will do it for a free car i simply wont. They tried throwing the v2's my way and i have declined ever since..

I have the Bezgar HM124 version of the HBX 901A and I agree with your thoughts and opinions about this awesome rc buggy, but I also agree with your statement that you are likely holding a grudge against WL for their recent quality issues which is understandable, but I also think you missed out on the opportunity to speak about the updated and fixed v2 versions that reveal two very important points about WL... 1. It shows that they listen to their customers and will welcome constructive feedback when provided. 2. They acted quickly and applied the needed changes based on customer feedback, and their response and action to resolve and fix these issues were

Hi Brad. Glad you agree about the 901A being a great buggy. I am a huge fan of Wltoys and always will be providing changes are made to quality control. This isn't a video to put people off from buying into the brand but a way to address issues and prevent them from happening again. I'm not the biggest channel but im sure they will get to read some of these comments. I have covered most of my points and opinions in the other comments but as you have taken the time to write an in depth comment i will comment on your statements. 1. Yes absolutely and for a cheap Chinese brand that's quite rare. Usually a bad product will be made and that's the end of it so i do give them credit for that. 2. Absolutely but we are missing one thing. What about the V1 owners or V1 Pre orders that were still on the way to people when the V2 was released? I know of a lot of people who pre ordered the V1 and received it just as the v2 was released meaning they had two choices. Try for a refund and return or deal with the cogging issues themselves. I am aware returning or refunding was incredibly difficult for a lot of people as anyone outside of our hobby probably wouldn't understand what cogging is or why it would be an issue. I mean the car turns on, runs and drive fine? Where's the problem? Thats what most aftersales support would have said and they wanted video evidence of the issue. disappointing

The issue i have is what about the v1 owners? Wltoys released an upgrade kit consisting of a new motor and gearing but wanted to charge £50/$70 for it when it was their mistake? Why not offer this as a free upgrade to owners instead of trying to yet again profit? That is where i disagree with the V2 and WLTOYS for operating in this way and this is why i made the choice not to support and promote the v1 or v2 on my channel as i feel its been dealt with the wrong way by wltoys and quite honestly very disappointing.

I agree with your second point for sure, I've actually been looking for a V2 124016 model to buy and it's crazy to me that most of the Amazon and Banggood dealers I've reviewed are still selling the V1 defective models along with the updated V2 models at random, when imo these should have been recalled, sent back to the factory, and upgraded to V2. For those who bought the broken and defective V1 models should be allowed a free or seriously discounted upgrade kit with new motor / pinion and receiver, i agree with you they definitely dropped the ball here and screwed over those who bought the V1. I have seen some feedback and comments from sellers who are accepting refunds and replacing V1 with V2 models but the fact V1 models are still being sent to customers is unacceptable.

Does the EAT14 have the same cogging issues as the V1?

yes but when i tested the eat14 it wasnt bad as the v1 124016 and 17. Maybe due to the smaller size those cars are 1/12 and the eat14 is 1/14. Cheers

I did. Currently I go with a brutal 3650/2100kv at 3S. Complete drivetrain upgraded to metal ones. The acceleration is unbelievable. A 5400kv is already delivered but I am waiting for the needed ESC. I control it with a flysky gt5 and the complete setup is worth the money. So for me the 124019 is a really good base. Just to tell it: the stock setup handled 3S for 4 battery charges without taken damage.

A word of advice, if you want to keep it stock gearing (I am because I'm seeing claims it's still ridiculously fast stock gearing with 3s on brushless) buy a spare motor mount, a new stock WLtoys 27t pinion and some M3x5mm screws so your new motor is ready to be dropped in, It took god knows how many hours spent swearing and drilling trying to get the stock pinion off the old motor the last few days and now I'm waiting on a friend of a friend to thread a new hole in it so I can finally get it running, bit frustrating when everything else is ready to go.

if anybody thinks that the WLToys models in question do in fact belong on BeyondRC's own list, consider the effort and dollar amount applied to resolve the issue(s) in not one, but two versions of a vehicle only to *still* have to go back to the tuning table. If WLToys "HABILE" was a Risotto in a Gordon Ramsay kitchen, it woulda died in an intentional a dumpster fire before even getting a box.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think the v2 owners who watch this will disagree with me all day long as they never tried the v1 or experienced any of the issues. Imagine pre ordering a v1 after waiting weeks for it to arrive then to find out its got severe issues and to send it back to China for a refund is too much effort and money so you keep it and deal with it by spending even more money to make it better. A month later a v2 appears... im sorry if people think I'm making a fuss haha but it's the truth 🤣

Yeah, wltoys crapped the bed on those. Any testing at all should've revealed cogging and range issues before release. As for speed claims, they don't bother me that much. For one I just assume they're exaggerated and second, as an American, I have no clue how fast anything is in kph ...

The thing is a rocket in a straight line but is super sketchy over rough terrain. A mere bump or stone can send it flying spectacularly. It wants to flip or spin at the slightest hint of a corner. I've done some suspension tuning, added some stiffer rear shock springs and oil, added sway bars, and Remo P6973 tires/wheels and it is better, but not ideal. It probably makes a better speed run car than anything. The front axles are noodles and will need upgraded pretty quickly. Overall it's entertaining, but frustrating to drive around an offroad course. It will probably need the front toe corrected, shock oil levels adjusted, and diffs lubed before running.

My kid has a Mad Gear Desert Wolf buggy (also sold as Redcat Piranha truggy) that's pretty bad ass once set up right. It's a lot like the cars of olde. A 12T 550 brushed motor actually makes the thing impressively fast. My best car was probably an Associated RC10T but the thing was so stable and predictable to make it boring. Good luck on your quest. Wltoys just came out with a 1/10 brushless buggy. Maybe wait for the price to come down on that. It's currently around $200 USD.

@@bigbeardrc4145 true. I dont think they expected the 144001 to do as well as it did. it was well priced, decent spec and fairly well built apart from the dry diffs. Once sorted a very capable little machine for the money. Not acceptable to just throw new poor quality stuff out there knowing people will buy as the previous was excellent. Lets hope they have learnt their lesson!

Getting back in to the rc game soon and all I can say is as an auto tech Ive been watching rc vids for over a month And I can honestly say only one person was able to technically describe the issue, why it was like that, and why only a motor replacement will remove the cogging. Everyone else is just shooting arrows in the dark hoping it will resolve the issue including the o.p. 👎

Wrong. Not only a motor replacement. It was gearing that was the issue. Geared too high for the included electronics.

@@beyondRC That doesn't make sense. Don' t see how cogging can come from a mechanical gear set when the motor produces wayyy more torque then it needs to spin the gears. It appears to be an electrical signal issue from uncensored motor that is the issue from what I gather. If Im wrong Im wrong, not trying to be any kind of way, here to learn,would just like a TECHNICAL explanation of why I am wrong.

so the current 124017' being shipped use the old (bronze) motormount and a 21t pinion, i got one a week ago so i can confirm issue is theyre still saying its the v2 with a 19t pinion in the banggood listing, very abusive of all the reviewers theyve sent products to, basically using them as a way to misslead consumers, suprised noones called them out yet all they need to do is call it a v2.5 and change 19 to 21 in the listing...

Very underhanded by wltoys. The whole v2 situation I wont ever support. They approached it all wrong.. no QC, no good will gesture for the v1 owners and preorders and now with the current models they make a point on their youtube page about QC and testing to show people it's being done. They realised quickly they messed up with the v1 and the v2 was a quick attempt to gain back the customers they lost..

Well I think it was theire first time distributing a brushless rc car but they could have at least sent everybody a free v2 that purchased a v1 if they showed proof of purchase That would have been fair because who would want to turn around and buy a v2 after buying a v1 with issues. That would make you spending double the amount of money on a product that you should have got the first time but arrma comes out with v2 of stuff all the time and they fix the weak points from theire v1. As did wltoys.

So the reason you don't have the v2's on there, is because the v1's were poorly made. You DO realize that's the entire purpose of revisions, yes? They put the product out, people pointed out the problems, they redid it with zinc drive gears, metal shocktowers, brushless esc and motor, ect ect and the price only changed by less than 30%.... all within like 90 days of the original versions' release. That's literally a company hearing their customers' grievances, and fixing it within a couple of months. THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT FROM COMPANIES. To then punish the revision like that teaches them what exactly? /smh that's like a teacher giving a student a bad grade on their first paper, then telling them they won't grade their new paper any better, no matter how improved it is, because its only the first that matters.This is how incremental improvement happens, and is literally the definition of being in touch with your customers. I have my own reasons as to why these cars wouldn't be top of my list, namely some of the parts they left plastic are some of the most important parts to switch to metal and at very slight cost differences, but to say they shouldn't be on the list AT ALL? Well, everyone has a right to their opinion, and you clearly stated it was your list and your opinion. I just find your reasoning for it to be 100% biased, considering the real problems the model has that should keep it from spot number 1, but def higher than several of the cars you've listed

The reasons I have and never will support the v2 is because I wont be supporting a failure in quality control. Some testing is all it needed but greed and laziness took over. A product should be polished before release.. nothing is perfect but the v1 sucked so bad it was beyond a joke. Wltoys got lazy and that I wont be supporting. If you watch some of my latest vids they have redeemed themselves with the models. My opinion is my opinion 😉🤷

I think the most dissapointing thing Ricky is the fact WLToys knew they had released not one but TWO sub standard models with the exact same problem and then did nothing to help customers who had brought it. They then released V2 which was better plus an upgrade kit for the V1 users that was around £50.00. Their aftersales is appalling too. They didn't even answer my email. Gutted as, like many, the 144001 was my first RC car. I waited 5 months for my wife's 124017 and it was delivered just before the release of the V2. I've now had to buy a new ESC to try and fix the cogging issue. Ironically the EAT14 suffers the exact same issue and I'm sure it is built by WLToys aswell....

Such a shame to hear mate! They should have offered the upgrade kit for free I think. I'm sure the eat14 is just a 144001 but brushless. I didn't think the EAt14 was too bad it also had cogging issues though.

You should try and wipe your mind mate and give the wltoys 124016/17 version 2 a try as it's brilliant, version 1 was crap with cogging and range issues but they have sorted the problems out. For £120 you get 2 batteries and 40+ mph straight out the box and they will run 3s getting 58mph which is just so fast for the price point. Insane performance for the money,I'm really happy with mine. Yes if I'd have bought a v1 I'd probably have been pissed off with all the issues but I can honestly say the v2 is loads of fun. Great first car that can out perform cars cost 2 or 3 times the price

Well it’s like 99% of everything else in the world. A lot of people don’t get things right the first time. Look at any new car in its first year of production, they always have issues and people always regret being the guinea pig. It’s life.

I agree but these brushless models were built on the brushed chassis which has been around for a long time. The desert truck 124018 and 124019 buggy which were awesome. The only changes made were brushless motor and esc. Some simple quality control would have shown the issues straight away. Cutting corners to save money by using same high gearing as the brushed models resulting in issues as the motor and esc don't provide enough power or torque to get going smoothly. Again testing would have shown this instantly. The guinea pig were the original models there was no excuse for the brushless they let standards slip unfortunately. You may disagree but that's my opinion 👍

@@beyondRC yeah it sucks to see. luckily i just now got back in to rc and am able to get the revised model. its likely they did 0 or did not let it get in the hands of someone who uses rc cars, they prob saw that it worked and started building away. i feel they learned from this mistake and will do more testing going forward. sucks to see though. I had been quite a loyal customer for Wltoys & liked & enjoyed their cars, up untill I purchased the V1 brushless version. I also own three 144001, one 124019 & finally bought the dud 124017 brushless V1. I have no more interest in bothering with buying any more Wltoys cars after the V1 Brushless rubbish.

I got my V1 of each about two weeks before V2 came out. Pretty much unusable. They both get outright stuck in short grass. On 3s the buggy does better but still definitely not ok. Ridiculous that they releases those like that. And sold a LOT of them.

I think you're being a little harsh and misleading because all of your issues With the brushless WL toys models are with the version 1s and rightfully so..... but but you claim you don't like the version 2 BUT all of your complaints are about the v1... You did not make one complaint about the version 2 specifically..... judge the version 2 on its own merits...... The real question is suppose Wltoys released the first Brushless versions with the v2 setup Would you be happy would you praise it then if so then you shouldn't have a video complaining about the V-2 but basing all of the complaints on the V-1

Hey Anthony! I remember you subscribed very early on way before I hit 1k if I can remember correctly and I appreciate the long term support. I dont like the v2 as to me its a last minute attempt to rescue the fleeing customers they were losing daily after the failure V1! As you are one of my oldest subscribers you will probably remember how much I fell in love with the 144001 and featured it heavily on my channel and there is one simple reason for that. It was brilliant. Cheap, fairly well made apart from the dry diffs and sometimes shocks but apart from that it was a decent little platform for brushless conversions and for people to experience RC for the first time. Me and many other people complained about the dry diffs for months and they even released the 124019 with similar issues. There was no way they didn't know the problems existed but we never see a v2 144001 or v2 124019 to fix the diffs? WLTOYS became very successful after the a959 and 144001 and many RC fans grew to love the company so much so I think this led to them thinking they can release anything and it will sell. Business is business I guess but this was bad business and one way to upset a lot of brand new fans buying into your company. I'm sorry but they made a huge mistake and even though the V2 fixes all the issues what about the V1 owners stuck with a sub optimal product? Did WLTOYS offer a free upgrade to correct the problem? Nope. Instead they wanted to charge £50 for the new motor and gearing for a mistake they made? This is my reasoning why I simply cannot support the V2 or feature it on my channel its a matter of principle and just my choice. I have no doubt its great to a certain extent but I have lost some loyalty to WLTOYS. I'm hoping we see some good releases in 2022 so I can get back to promoting and enjoying their models again. I know some agree and some disagree but its personal opinion. I'm not in this for the free cars I have been offered a v1 and v2 and declined both. I'm here to try and support the RC community and make sure brands know when we are unhappy and when we want change. I'm not the biggest channel in the world but im sure they will get the message and make some small changes so that things can get back to normal. Cheers

I stopped watching after 'should have been...' Wltoys did a very good job admiting the mistake...I think that's not very common response. And bare in mind some ytubers didn't even see a problem. Or they turned a blind eye maybe?

You are judging the V2 based on the V1. I get it, however I also don't think that's fair. Would be nice if folks could get a free upgrade kit or trade in or somesuch but that's about it. Seems awfully silly to penalize a fixed version of a thing for an issue it doesn't have. That and you don't even have the V1... rather disappointing tbh.

I declined the V1 with good reason. Its terrible. Out of principle i am not interested in the v2. It shouldn't exist but it does due to the V1 being so bad and that is wltoys fault with poor quality control at the factory. Its my personal opinion i dont expect everyone to agree with me. The V2 may be fixed but it shouldn't have been required in the first place. I have heard and seen enough from my fellow youtubers who i am in close contact with to kindly pass on the v1 and v2 and hope to see better from WLTOYS with future releases :).

It's not that it's been rectified it's the fact they should have tested before release thats the issue. Anyway I'm over it but thats my opinion It won't be changing anytime soon. The point is those issues shouldn't have existed to begin with. Proper quality control measures would have prevented disappointment to thousands of people who ordered the v1. Why ship a product that is unusable when some simple product testing before leaving the factory would have solved a major issue. Do you see arrma, traxxas or even HBX releasing a v2 of each model? Nope. Don't expect everyone to agree with my opinions 😎👍

The fact that WLtoys actually fixed the issue rather than just continuing to produce the bad one is better than i would expect from a Chinese brand.

Wrong gearing without being able to alter that yourself because of the really odd .7 gear pitch used, wrong kv motor & radio with total useless range. These upgrades should of at least been offered to V1 customers or at the very least a discount code offered to purchase a V2 car.

@@gillian9178 Oof don't remind me about the .7 gear pitch, I found out the hard way that just because a pinion looks similar and seems like a good mesh rolling the car back and forth, it can still strip the spur gear the second you give the car some juice.

This is pathetic ... you dont like version 2 ... not on its merits .. but because v1 sucked .. Disliking a company for making a bad car has NO bearing at all on a different car. No one cares how crap version one is if version 2 is the best car ever or worst car ever the ONLY thing that matters is how good that car is. Someone looking to buy a new car now is not going to buy a good car (v2) because version one sucks ... Ok well I CAN NEVER EVER BUY A TAMIYA BECAUSE THE GRASSHOPPER IS POS . seriously stupid. brain dead logic.

Ever heard of a thing called principle? I like wltoys always have but they let standard slip with their quality control this time for no reason other than greed. Why would I support that? I'm not desperate for free cars or views. I Don't care what you think of me or my channel and call me pathetic all you want I wont lose sleep haha. I'm entitled to my opinion. I have the new 144010 on the way and let's hope they haven't slacked on that one. Learn to read other comments and responses that way it saves me wasting my time repeating myself. 🤣👍
