WHAT'S UP COUSINS! In today's video I'm giving you guys my FIRST IMPRESSIONS on the now, veteran, Let's Jam Mega Hold Protein Styling Gel. I remember, maybe about 5-6 years ago, there was a LOT of hype around the Lets Jam Curling Custard (Purple Top).. so I tried it, and although it was SUPER thick, I remember it leaving my hair REALLY soft and moisturizing, so I wanted to try it again but I bought the wrong one lol Anywho, I decided to still try this one out because... ya never know right?! I have sooo many mixed feelings (my hair LOOKS good vs. how it feels vs. it being protein based, etc etc etc)... so I'll just let YALL decide if this is a PASS ✅ or a FAIL ❌ -- LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS!

Success in my opinion depending on what u want if I want a day 3 wash n go on day 1 then this is it. I love the volume especially for us fine hair naturals so definitely a success. I really like the fluffy wash n go look on you.

The stickiness and the amount of product it would take to achieve a style would make it an automatic no however the end results or not bad aesthetically

Finally Amber I love it! The final results look kinda like a braid out to me. The stickiness is a no all the way around but I like the end result. It crazy that I used this line when I was relaxed and I hated it cause it always curled my hair up but I’ve never tried it now that I’m natural. And probably won’t cause my head big and I’d need 3 containers 😂😂😂

okay so i would consider this a win . i wouldn't use this as a staple or go to item but you could use this while traveling to do a quick wash n go and that's 1 less product to bring home since you used the whole jar. lol you could also use this when it's getting close to wash day but want a day 3 looking wash n go. It definitely serves it purpose but i wouldn't say it's life changing or a necessity. With that being said, i actually just bought the one with the light green cap (no protein) to try on my daughters fine hair. We'll see how it goes lol

Omg cousin...i have missed you!!!...i mean, you have been posting but i work for the government (state level) and we have been taking slack for federal employees working from 7am until 9 at night...i have been missing your posts and trying to catch up when i can...if any of our cousins are Federal employees, im feeling so sorry for you guys..but hopefully this will all end soon 💜💜...but, since this is a protein, imma pass...i have been using rice water and this on top of that this would leave me with a head full of straw!!!...waiting on the next product you will be reviewing...also...i just ordered the Michael Mercier detangling brush for fine hair..OMG...it is the best!!! Looks super cute and shiny but definitely a B- because there’s so many other gels have made your hair look “better”. I’m so glad you did this though because this is actually how I would like my wash and go to look, more of a super wet look but I’m sad there’s not enough product in the tube. 😭

These results look so good! But the other day when you were on instagram stories this didn’t look like the same great wash and go that you usually get? If that makes sense? Anyways I remember I accidentally picked up the one with the green top once and I hated it because the definition just faded away as fast as I could apply it🙃

Not a fail it looks moisturized and fluffy. The last combo you did was so fire I don't think it compares. Also are you doing your makeup differently or is it the lighting?

Hey beautiful cousin! I’d consider it a success for one of those “I just wanted to try it” wash n go’s. It definitely isn’t competing with your normal wash n go’s, but if you want a bigger 3rd day look in the first day cuz you’re gonna re-wash it sooner, then yeah. HOWEVER, for the little bitty jar, nah cousin, no repurchasing!

Other products have done better but it's not a complete fail. Definitely knew it was going to be different based on how it looked wet. I didn't know JAM had products like this.

Ok but PLZ kno this is still SO pretty. Edges comin thru, brows & lips comin thru 🙌🏽 ... I’ve never used that product but i already kno a light weight anything won’t do much for my hair.

lol I'm actually not picky at all when it comes to my products, I've just been doing wash and gos for over 5 years and when you know your hair, you know your hair 🤷🏾‍♀️ But thank you! The fluffy is not what made it a fail, that part I mentioned looked good. It was the fact that my hair was sticky and SUPER dry by Day 3! 😖

What kind of lipstick or lipgloss do you have on? I like the color. As far as the product... I would give it a solid C. Although the shine is undeniable...there isnt enough product for more than 2-3 uses (for a wash and go) and that tacky feel is the worst in my opinion. I hate when I use a gel and once it dries it feels as if I just put honey on my strands.

I tried that gel and I hated it. My hair was so dry and I used a leave in. Not to mention when I washed my hair I had a lot of shedding.

Fun story: before i went natural I was transitioning and I put my hair into bantu knots and used this exact jam because my mom didn't buy the orange one 💀 well my scarf was stuck to head sis it didnt want to let go!!! Maybe I used too much but I never used it again felt like spritz

Hmm. I know it's definitely possible to have the same curl shape but different textures. For example, there can be a "silky 3c" and a "coarse 3c" and I think some people think all hair types are all the same texture just because they're the same shape, which isn't true. I'm definitely a kinky/coarse haired curly, vs someone who may have my same shape and their strands be silkier. I think this is what you're referring to!

Ok.. I still think your wash n go was a success but it does depends on what you’re looking for. I like my wash n go’s really defined because I can make it last long and it gets bigger over the days. Darlin let me stop you right now. Whatever you do, don't use anything by let's jam. I used that years ago to smooth the sides and I noticed that it started thinning my hair on the sides a lot. It has been a few decades since I used it and I am surprised that they have the nerve to be pushing it on the younger set. Please take it from me; do not use this.
