I’m exactly what you described. I only watch your Zelda content and I haven’t been lately. I think you nailed the reason why. I still enjoy TotK content, but it needs a fresh take to grab my attention. It also needs a thread of tension. A feeling of will or won’t it work. I think that why I like the straight line challenges. It requires consistent problem solving. Those are hard. Perma death in ToTK isn’t really all that hard so there isn’t any tension when watching it. Despite being in the Zelda bubble, I encourage you to continue to play other games. You need to do what you love and be authentic. I think your viewership will go back up if you can create scenarios that keep us on our seat wanting us to watch to the end to see if you made your goal.

I’ve been watching since 2018 with the BotW Master Mode series. There are a lot of KZfaq channels I used to watch a lot, then stopped watching forever. This channel, as many times as I temporarily stop watching, I will always come back to this channel because you are such a great creator and you always capture the humor and fun that makes this channel so good. Never quit what you do.

I think the zelda bubble is coming from your only other content mostly being mario content which isn't really something people choose to watch, i think experimentation with different types of games that you like or maybe even some trending games would help get people beyond the zelda niche

To answer your questions, 1. We (my kid and I) do see your videos on our homepage. 2. Yes, you are definitely making content that we want to see. I have to say I would personally love to see more challenge series for Zelda TotK. I love this channel the best when it's doing the goofiest things in these games. My kid is also making a request that you play more Kirby games ("There are so many he hasn't even done yet!") or more Age of Calamity. Also, I think if you want to create content for other games, go for it, even if the numbers aren't as good. Like maybe two non-Zelda videos for every Zelda video, even if they don't do as well, just to show people more that there are other options. I don't know if you're a West Wing fan, but they had an episode about a poll showing people aren't interested in a certain topic, and the person who made the poll said something like "It's not a sign they aren't interested - it just means you aren't reaching them, so be louder." We loved your Princess Peach Showtime videos, by the way. There are a ton of KZfaqrs out there who are doing what you're doing - we're sticking around this channel (and have for half a year since discovering this channel) because of you in the videos. Your personality and jokes make the videos a lot of fun to watch, and I personally like that you're a professional gamer who still says things like "Oh no please don't hurt me" when up against a boss.I feel like a lot of professional gamers act like a game is "so easy" and that the bosses are a walk in the park, so it's incredibly refreshing and more relatable seeing you be a bit more vulnerable when playing. We're rooting for you and will keep watching your channel!

The Zelda content is what attracted me to your channel, but I have branched out into watching your other videos. The Princess Peach Showtime series surprised me at how much I liked it, and I enjoy the collaborations you have with JP (Super Mario Wonder was a hoot and pushed me to buy the game; the Odyssey and 3d world collabs were also good). I think for me, watching a creator enjoy what they're playing, with fun/snappy editing and good comedy is what I'm after. I finally subscribed now to show my support because you deserve it, but you were showing up on my home screen before then. I can tell Twilight Princess is not a game you're having as much fun with, and it showed in the early episodes (it seems to be getting better for you at least). While I am a big Zelda fan and will always be drawn to that content, I am more interested in you playing games that you are having fun with because that makes me as a viewer enjoy your videos. So while I know you're concerned about the long term viability and viewership of this channel, please don't suffer for the sake of views.

I rarely comment on videos but in the effort to help out: 1. I see your content on the homepage (but I also seek out and watch a good amount of your videos) 2. I like the let’s play and challenge series! 3. I don’t know if there is a way for you to poll this, but I wonder how many of your viewers play a wide variety of games vs just play Zelda. I’m not a gamer, at all. The first video game I ever played was BOTW. So for a long time, I never looked for other video content because BOTW was the only game I knew. It was your videos that actually got me to branch out and try other games and eventually watch non-Zelda videos. So I can see both sides (as a viewer who only plays Zelda, being only interested in watching Zelda content and as a creator who plays a wide variety of games, not wanting to be stuck only playing one video game). Idk if this even makes sense or would form a cohesive video, but I’m wondering if you could test some challenge type videos where you combine switching between Zelda and non-Zelda games. It could draw people interested in Zelda content while also maybe introducing them to other games? 🤷‍♀️

You are my most favourite KZfaqr, I'm glad I found this channel. Your content has helped me out of the misery mire-lands, especially playing Mario kart with you every now and then. I consider you a good friend, and your videos always brighten up my gloomy days. So don't doubt yourself, you are very fun and Entertaining. If you are stuck with the Zelda bubble, just don't be afraid to step outside of that and Play More from Nintendo. I don't mind if you play more Donkey kong, Mario, Kirby, or Sonic, or Bomberman, or Crash, Spyro, Rayman Legends, Mysims Racing Wii, Mario Party 2, Mario Party 8, Super Smash Bros series, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games... etc. Just try to find something fun whilst waiting for new games to release.

I used to watch this channel during those Breath of the Wild spikes in popularity, I used to really love those and I watched them a whole lot, but that was a few years ago now, and I was a bit younger then than I am now, obviously. Those videos were really entertaining to my younger self, but over time I stopped being interested in zelda that much, and I honestly haven't participated in it at all even with Tears of the Kingdom's release, I hardly know anything about that one to be honest. But I've been subscribed for a long time, despite falling off watching your channel years ago, not because I disliked the content, but because I fell off zelda, which is the main reason I came there for. But now that all of that is over, I still think there's a huge bunch of value in your other non-zelda content, because like you said, you shouldn't be labled as a Zelda youtuber because of KZfaq. All I can hope is that KZfaq will finally start recommending your videos, cause regardless of what it is you do, you're really entertaining. In terms of new content (we’ve honestly cycled through your windwaker playlist 3 times now) we loved watching your Star Wars play throughs and you had one live stream playing Fortnite that actually made me give that game a try. I’ve been watching you since 2020 during Covid I started playing a lot of Zelda and then I started watching tutorials, and Zelda videos. I was enjoying that, and then when we weren’t on lockdown I started watching other KZfaqrs but still watched you I was loving gaming videos and that’s what I loved doing. When Tears of the kingdom came out I stayed up all night waiting to just play the game I loved playing it for the first time. I still lay it to this day and same with breath of the wild but as I am still watching you I’ve noticed that you have been doing a lot of series out once and I really like, but sometimes I feel like it’s hard to keep up with 3 or 4 series out one time. So in my opinion I would just cut down to maybe like 2 series at a time. I really enjoy watching your videos and I love them very much and I will keep on watching them forever and I want you to know that you’re a great KZfaqr!

I can confirm that I'm not receiving the videos on my homepage... despite the fact that check your own page and binge watch the videos there. Something isn't quite right here. I've been here since you tried out No Man's Sky, and KZfaq's algorithms have changed for much the worst over the years, and it's a straight up horror show watching creators struggle for no real reason.

My favorite videos of yours are the ridiculous challenge videos like getting a horse to the highest sky island, or building a giant ladder to climb out of the depths. These are challenges I would never attempt myself and I find them hilarious. So I personally don’t watch play-through videos or the permadeath videos much at all.

I’m not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but sometimes I simply don’t get the notification that your videos come out. I have to manually go to your channel and look at most recently uploaded to see your videos. It’s not just your channel that does this, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had the same problem

So if I were to make any suggestions, and if you're willing to take any of them, I'd say maybe do some more collaboration with another channel like The Basement, or something. I think Ted and Peter are kinda in a Zelda bubble too and I've already told them that they should do some more collaboration with you!! I've always enjoyed the Basement/A-Game collabs and I feel like more of those would be more than welcome on KZfaq. Another suggestion, and I'm just throwing this out there because I have doubts and you might be reserved with this specific game, and that is Minecraft. Hear me out, there's a new update and going off of the earlier suggestion, maybe collab with the Basement and take on the new trial chamber!! As for the Zelda bubble, I being a long time, hard core, Zelda fan feel comfortable with Zelda bubble, not gonna lie, but maybe you could do a comparison series for BOTW and TOTK. You know, BOTW Death Mountain vs TOTK Death Mountain, BOTW Eventide Island vs TOTK Eventide Island, BOTW shrines vs TOTK shrines, etcetera etcetera. Do a comparison series just like that, no depths and no sky (except for the beginning of TOTK of course). Outside of said bubble I do enjoy the Live Mario Kart, I actually got to play it with you online a couple times. Then there's Mario Maker 2, people have been recently showing that game some love as well. Also I'm not suggesting bringing back the mail videos . . . . or am I??? BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Hi Mr. A Game, I want to start by saying I usually never posts comments on KZfaq, but after watching your video, I really wanted to get this out to you. First, I found and subscribed to your channel back when you were primarily doing Mario Maker content, and not because I liked watching that game specifically, but because your style of editing the videos to include memes and just your personality in general was very entertaining, and I’ve been along for the ride ever since. I love your Zelda content along with many of the other games you play, and I understand what you mean by watching a video for the creator and not the game. When I first started watching let’s plays, ZackScottGames was the first channel I found and subscribed to. That channel was the start of me watching let’s plays and streamers, and therefore, will always have a special place in my heart as I will gladly watch his videos just because it’s him and not necessarily care about the game he’s playing, and I know there’s plenty of people who feel that way toward you, me included. I love watching streamers who play Nintendo games, so you’ve also become another streamer of mine that I will watch just because it’s you playing these types of games. I joined this channel when I discovered your botw randomizer videos, but that is not why I stayed. Sure I love Zelda, but I’ve also watched your Splatoon, Mario, and other videos as well and I just love the way you play and make your videos. I’m currently going through a Zelda burnout, which is why I don’t watch the twilight Princess videos right now. Maybe one day when my burnout is gone, but right now I’m waiting for the next Mario galaxy peoples challenge. I can’t say much about the Home Screen because I’m rarely on the Home Screen, I often get too many spoilers for games and movies I enjoy so I just avoid it altogether. I watch your videos because I really like your chill, wholesome style of videos. The meme edits are also very funny. So in short, yes, you’re making what I want to see. About the Zelda bubble: I found your channel through the BOTW randomizer videos. Those made me laugh so much, not just because of the randomizer’s chaos, but also because of your edits and reactions to the gameplay. And I see that in every video of yours. I’d never heard of Celeste before I watched your series on it, but now it’s one of my favorite games. I loved the Wonder videos, with the wonderful jokes getting more and more elaborate every video. I’m not a Splatoon fan, but your series on Splatoon 3 was also very fun, and I enjoyed those videos. The Galaxy People’s Challenge is so creative, and Galaxy is one of my top 10 games of all time. I love your Zelda content, but I also love your other content, because I like your style of making videos. A few other things: I don’t have the notification bell checked, since I don’t like getting notification spam, but I check daily to see if any of my subscriptions have a new video (I don’t have too many subscriptions). So whenever I see a new A-Game video I watch it. The update videos, and how real you are about these things with your audience, are another admirable quality to your channel. You’re my favorite KZfaqr, not because of what your content is, but how it is. So thank you, for always bringing your a-game to this channel, and for continuing to make these videos that may not perform as well because it’s what you love to do. TL;DR: you're doing great and we love it, keep it up! Like a lot of folks, we found you through Zelda as we were getting excited about TotK. BUT, we've continued to watch because your content is so much fun and my kids think you're hilarious. You're fun and family-friendly, which I really appreciate. Honestly my wife and I often enjoy the videos almost as much as the kids. We've watched a lot of your stuff, including going back to some of the older videos. My kids actually really enjoy the Mario Maker videos - I guess they get a kick out of watching you suffer? Sorry about that. Honestly - and sorry if this is cheesy - we really do enjoy the channel because of you. You're fun to watch and the videos are great. One last thing: Our 6 year-old who was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes last year wanted to watch one of your videos as a distraction when we had to start putting his CGM and insulin pump on him every few days, and it's a tradition that continues, so thanks for the help with that! Keep up the good work!

Mr A Game! I have been a long time subscriber and what got me was actually your super Mario World playlist of people's worlds! And I'm not even a huge Mario fan! You make amazing content that I can have my 5 year old watch without worry and for that I thank you. You have so much on the channel and I loved your Splatoon series! Please do what you feel like you will enjoy doing!

I've been following Mr.A for over a year now and I absolutely love the content! For me personally, I do see new videos on my homepage most of the time. Sometimes if I know or suspect there should be a new video coming out but I'm not seeing it on the homepage, I would just go to the channel and check there. And I enjoy watching all of your contents Mr.A even though it is the BOTW series that got me here lol! I think exploring and expanding to other games you want to play would be beneficial! It might be risky but it is a risky worth taking!

Been watching since 2016 and Mario Maker. Overall I've watched very little of your Zelda content. You used to say the goal of your channel was to show kids they could have fun playing games that aren't rated M and it really stuck with me. Some of my favorite series from you have been when you bring in other people: Kirby, Mario Wonder, and Snipperclips! I say keep making content that makes you happy, and I'll tune in as best I can. To answer your question, I haven't been seeing your content on the home page this year except for *this* video randomly. And I watched Princess Peach and am catching up on the Twilight Princess series right now

I personally love your content but- I haven’t seen you on my homepage naturally. I remember when I used to never miss one of your videos but the current state of life outside of Covid and then school going crazy left me with no time. I also have to agree with your concept of the “Zelda bubble”. I think your videos are so authentic, but nowadays glitches and more short form content kinda seems to be sticking. If you’re thinking about other games then maybe you could try to slowly shift away by doing similar games and then over time crossing over to different waters. I also know that this can be frustrating, but a lot of channels have found that KZfaq has started to prioritize KZfaq shorts in order to stay “relevant” to a very odd algorithm. Whatever you keep doing you have always been a good person, and KZfaqr. Wish ya the best.

I found your channel in 2018 while looking for BotW walkthroughs and loved your content so much I never left. I have the notification bell turned on so that every time you post a new video, I don’t miss it. I watch all your content, even for games I’m not usually interested in. I do enjoy Zelda, of course, but I also enjoy Mario, Kirby, Mystery Game, challenge series’, etc. I keep missing the live streams of your play through for Paper Mario, but I’ve been enjoying watching the reruns. I’ve also been enjoying the Peoples’ Choice for Super Mario Galaxy. I really enjoy your content, Mr. A Game. I’m a middle aged woman from California in the USA and I find your channel to be one of the best, most enjoyable, humorous, wholesome channels on the entire KZfaq. Hey, just so you know, I found your channel through Zelda, but ultimately I just love the personality you show on your videos. I absolutely adored the content you create around Mario games. Your Mario Odyssey series made me want to play the game! I bought it on Mar10 Day and only played one level because the control scheme was so complex (I thought), but then your series made it look so fun! Between that and your play with JP, I finished the game! I also have enjoyed hearing your opinions on games, your enthusiasm for Nintendo content (which I share) and the skill with which you play. Zelda content is great and I'm currently enjoying your Twilight Princess playthrough (though I don't share your frustration with the game's early levels) and the Tears of the Kingdom Permadeath. I wasn't watching your Tears of the Kingdom videos until I finished the game myself, and that took a long time for me. I'm so hopeful that you'll keep being able to make content, but I appreciate your asking our thoughts. Keep up the great work and all the props to your team and family!

As for video suggestions, Zelda is always good but honestly I think you would love more Indie games such as Hollow Knight, Big Cat Little City, Stray, Etc. I totally get that you are focused on mainly Nintendo/Zelda titles but I do like other content too! Hang in there

I've been a fan since around the 2020 lockdown and love watching all of your content even though it was the BoTW videos that brought me to the channel in the first place. Since you mentioned it in the vides: I do see your videos on my front page when they are released but I've noticed that whereas every Zelda video is definitely on the front page, all other gameplay videos are only SOMETIMES on the front page for me. I often only find out about them if I go to your page specifically. I really hope that somehow YT just becomes more clear on what they want KZfaqrs to do as it seems like it's shrouded in mystery for you all to kind of figure out. I really hope you continue with more videos with Steph and J.P. as it really shows a bit more than just game playing, but also the love and friendship. Keep going! We love your work and fun!

My wife and I love watching your content because of you, regardless of the game. I personally enjoy your comedy, timings and "reactions" but above all else, your family-friendly approach (even thought we have no kids). We're loving the latest Mario series btw. The new youtube algorithm has been disastrous IMHO. As a person that watches very varied content, the simply fact of scrolling through my homepage marks videos as "viewed", and if I watch a video to fix a problem at home, the second I go back to the homepage I get bombarded with how-tos for the thing I already resolved instead of recommendations based on my subscriptions.

I do see your videos on my home page. I like watching Zelda content because it's my favorite game franchise, but I have also watched you play mystery games, Mario games, and more. My interest in those things by themselves wasn't because I liked them, but because you were playing them. You bring something special to the world of gaming content on KZfaq-something I can watch that is clean but also hilarious! Plus, you just have a very great character that makes me come back. I wish there were more of us out there to support you like this, but there are people who like you for YOU and not just for the game you play. This has encouraged me to put more diverse content of yours on while I work. Hopefully we can make an impact!
