Silver is based off Trunk from DBZ. Since both characters are trying to fix their own timeline by going back to the past. Silver goes back to the past in order to prevent Iblis the flames of disaster from destroying his world. Silver's current timeline is ruined because of the flames of disaster, he is manipulated by Mephiles (who disguised himself as Shadow) to think that Sonic was the cause of Iblis's awakening. With Silver calling Sonic the Iblis Trigger. Elise carried the flame inside her, her dying on Eggman's ship cause the flames of disaster to ruin the future.

Sonic 06 was nearly complete but they were forced to release an earlier build due to the team being split in half and rushed for the holiday season. Like the manual has shit in it shown *in screenshots fully programmed and modeled and functional* that don't show up in the game at all. Also Thousand Year Door is one of the best RPGs of all time up there with the likes of Fallout New Vegas and Final Fantasy 7

So, the story as to why this game is so bad: SEGA struck a deal with Microsoft to have a next-gen Sonic game out on the Xbox 360 by the end of 2006. However, realizing that the upcoming Wii was too underpowered to run Sonic 06, SEGA opted to split Sonic Team in half, sending Sonic 06's original game director with this other half to make Sonic & the Secret Rings. Later into development, Yuji Naka, one of the three original creators of Sonic the Hedgehog, left SEGA after dissatisfaction with his managerial role he was in, when he wanted to be hands-on with development, and he headhunted staff from Sonic Team, further crippling the development team, and SEGA was unwilling to fill the missing staff, resulting in a practically anemic development team with zero hope of putting out a finished product.
