“Villarreal played for a draw after 2 mins”? They scored first (Man U got a flukey equaliser) had 12 shots, 7 corners. They defended brilliantly and attacked when they could. It was a textbook tactical display from Villarreal against a much stronger opponent.

Villarreal with a limited squad did what they thought they could do to win the game. They dont have prime xavi iniesta to play fluid attacking football. Although I see Villarreal play much more attacking football in the league but that often gets them thrashed by big clubs and they think it wasn't worth the risk to play attacking football.

I thought Villareal looked pretty bad. Struggled to keep the ball, didn't have the ability to pick the right pass. Emery has done a good job with them and they worked well enough off the ball. But in no way did Villareal look good on it. edit: I'm a Chelsea supporter

Yeah we have the most deluded fans. I disagree with you winning second halves because of class players, i would say more due to dodgy penalties. Kind of fitting to lose on pens. Im not disappointed because we should never be in that competition....losing to Istanbul! No tactics, no ideas on the bench, none on the field either. One trick ponies in our team. Dodgy pens and counter attack, no idea how to break down a team. Not going to change any time soon either. I think next year will be a struggle.

As a United fan I find it impressive we managed to get beat by quite simply one of the worst teams I have ever seen in a final. Ole needs to really rethink the tactics against European opposition. Turkey was worse in the CL earlier in the season and the same result. Managed to beat PSG and Leipzig then lose to a team I can't even pronounce their name.

If they hadn't got the set piece goal they would have never scored. They won the lottery at the end. But this is irrelevant to our issues. We will never win the league again with these owners we can get whoever in charge it makes no difference

They only got players like Gerard Moreno because Espanyol got relegated and his release clause shrank, Parejo because Valencia virtually gave him up for free. Look at the difference of ability between the two teams, surely you can't really expect them to go toe to toe against a footballing giant and win?

I’m a man united fan and I’ve said it before ole don’t have a clue about any of our players. Fernandes and rashford are two of the most overated players, there both stat padders meaning if they don’t score or assist, they get away playing horrendously for the other 90 minutes. Ole needed to play van der beek next to mctominay and push Pogba further foward and dropped rashford. People laughed at me when I said grealish was better than Bruno and rashford, give me a break that guy would have dictated that whole game along with Pogba if they were both higher up.

@@ill_be_frank anyone can win the F.A cup from any division. To finish second in the premier league you have to be consistent all season. So yeah the F.A cup is silverware, but second place is a better achievement for a consistent season. Look at Wigan a few years ago. Won the cup and were relegated in the same season.

Any other club would sack solskjaer but united won't. The Glazers won't be making any controversial decisions for fear of a repeat of another fan reaction. Solskjaer is still too popular amongst many of the clueless fans that haven't quite realised how out of his depth he is. There's no way united are sacking a manager that's still probably got 50% of fans behind him. If this was chelsea or any other club with a proper structure in place then solskjaer wouldn't have got the job in the first place, and if he had, then he'd be out of the door a long long time ago. Cundy summed it up well "that performance was enough from solskjaer - I've seen enough"
