I shop at a Goodwill that definitely isn't my cup of tea! I'm not sure I will be back! Then I go to compare prices at the Goodwill Boutique where I haven't been since I was thrown out over a year ago! See what happens this time on this thrift with me adventure!

Those green glasses and bowl you bought for $5.00 are called sandwich glass and are made by anchor hocking. All those pieces use to come free in the oatmeal containers in the 60’s. I use to collect them and past what I had to my daughter. 😊

The music that is added in the video is to mask the music that is coming out of the loud speakers at goodwill. Otherwise she would be getting a copyright claim or multiple because this goodwills music is too loud... if that makes sense to those asking about the added music.

I think that all the you tubers shopping at Goodwill putting what prices they will be reselling their Goodwill purchases at might be contributing some to the higher costs. Everyone is trying to make a living; nothing wrong with that. The knowledge you tubers share with us is great! But, Goodwill is also looking at these videos!

What Goodwill doesn't realize is that their pricing is stopping some people who are not resellers. My friend and I have been thrift shopping for years. Many times we walk out of Goodwill now without purchasing anything at all. All my furniture, most of my clothing, bedding,dishes etc all came from thrift stores over the years.

I hear this a lot, and while they may be watching and pricing up - they would also then notice the resellers aren't buying the high priced items - ultimately this will cut into their bottom line. They are a large corporation that needs to move items quickly - hopefully managers understand the business model and embrace their reseller customers! That is smart business!

@The NICHE Lady yes! I have stopped my weekly visits to goodwill. They took away Wednesday se ior, military, teachers discount. Books are almost 6.00. Savers without military or senior discount has also gotten more expensive.

It makes me feel so good when I pass up an item at my local Goodwill store, and then see you pick up and pass up an item just like it from your local Goodwill. It boosts my confidence as a reseller. Thank you.

Maybe the vase with upside down angels was upside down. It's so much fun to shop since I'm shopping for me and not resell. My daughters can sell it all after I'm gone. I get the idea they will want to keep the Fiestaware since most of it is the original colors that my mother acquired back in the 60s. We ate off of it. And we have beautiful serving pieces.

The boutique store was well stocked with Sale tag orange items. I've never seen you find so many in one place!! I liked that boutique store.

RE: Your Disney Princess picture. If the material is cloth canvas, you can just spray some warm water on the back of the canvas and let it dry. That should take out the dents.

Oh my gosh! I JUST picked up a pink frosted glass with painted grapes bowl exactly like that one. I think I only paid a few dollars for it. Also I'm getting ready for my first What Not sale...haven't scheduled it yet.

I agree with you about the Knuttle stuff, it’s so ugly and that’s probably why they still have so much of it! And then the second store had some ugly stuff with the yellow tags too! The little birdcag you zoomed by would be great for an "assemblage." It looks like your GW is going the way of our Northern New England ones. Prices start at $2 in the Augusta, ME one, even for dollar store things! That animal origami kit would make a lovely mobile! Hold a steamer or cool iron on the back of the Disney picture and get the dings out!

Our GW have pillows for like 2.99. I've picked up some Ty Pennington pillows. Worth about 30 and some red, white and blue outdoor pillows that still had tags for 29.99 each.

Really Becky? We have 30 - 60% off on items everyday! Our clothing prices are below Goodwill's - we are supporting 5 different non profits and are small, we are not a big corporation so we do put some collector prices on things. We also have dealer booths so maybe you are referring to those areas of the store, but they are not the donated items, they are the same as going to an antique mall. It's a new concept I hope people will be more understanding and get on board with!

@@TheNICHELady I do under stand your discounts, but you have admitted your prices are “higher” in order to benefit the non-profits. You neglect to say when talking about Goodwill prices that you get 20% off on everything everyday. You were saying you would pay $6ish on a $10 item, but in reality, it was $8…. Just saying…. You obviously can do whatever you choose in your own store, but your prices, I believe, are equal to the prices you were talking about at Goodwill…

I agree with you about not liking the horrible designed plates. The faces looked poorly painted and creepy looking! I noticed a lot of the prices looked a bit pricey for Goodwill. The Disney picture you picked up, I believe was from a page of a Disney book I got my daughter years ago, which had a collection of Disney stories.

The guy in space on the pillows is from the game Among Us. The players are all working on a space ship, but there are one or two imposters who kill the crew as they go about their work. Meetings are called for when a body is discovered, and players vote on who the imposter is. Even if you are not the imposter, if the majority votes for you, you are ejected! I play this with my 10 year old grandson.🙂 The leaf is ginkgo pronounced with a hard g at the beginning, not the j sound.

Whatever they're doing they sent the memo to Australia! Our prices have all gone up in Salvos etc. Apparently they decided to operate as a business now, not a not-for-profit 🤷‍♀

Our goodwill's in Indiana. The prices are ridiculous and so much of a junk. You would think that they would sell it lower and get rid of it. And make. A better price than send it to the bins and not making this much crazy world we live in❤

Hey Danni! I’m going to have to jump on the band wagon here. Those prices were ridiculous! What is that GW thinking? 🤔 Oh yeah, profit. That’s what they’re thinking. It makes me feel bad for customers going there with fixed budgets shopping for something pretty to decorate their homes with. It’s just wrong. And the loud music would drive me right out the door and never go back. 😖 On a positive note 🤣 I’m sure looking forward to seeing your assemblage projects! 🐢🐢💕

Unfortunately I think prices will continue to rise at GW. They are not helping those that GW was intended to help. Nor are they pricing for resellers. Soon they will price themselves out for everyone and have no buyers.
