I seriously don’t understand the “Try not to sing challenges”. I mean, I get the try not to laugh challenges because laughing is involuntary. Singing isn’t. It’s like having a “Try not to walk in a circle challenge”. “Oh man! I can’t be leave I just did that! I didn’t even notice me getting up and walking around” is just as weird to me as saying “Oh man! I can’t believe I just did that! I didn’t even notice me start to sing!”

I watched these back in like 2010-2012 and they felt like they had a bigger purpose back then. It was only Kids React and Teens React at the time and they both existed for more purpose than popularity. Kids would react to funny viral videos and it was just cute and wholesome since kids always say weird shit, and the teens often focused on tougher topics and it gave insight on how teens think of more hard hitting subjects like school shootings, suicide and racism. I thought that was very interesting at the time but it’s clearly a shell now.

@@ll890 well it wasn’t on national tv or anything, just youtube. there’s a few clips of it still here if u look it up. just the age they’ve given the puppet they use for the show is gross bc they make her say all these dirty things that no child should ever have come out of their mouths. or words and phrases that she shouldn’t know at such a young age. ik a lot of people don’t rlly think it’s that big of a deal, but the show itself is directed towards kids..like it was actually for kids🤦♀️to watch. it just makes me feel weird bc it seems like it’s trying to normalize pedophilia..but that might just be me ?? i’ll try to find a few links bc i’m not entirely sure if my opinion is valid

The character was 8 and they make jokes about r@ping her and she makes comments about wanting s ex and she asks what boners are, etc. There’s footage where Shane’s character is supposed to be coming while she’s describing something. It’s all very messed up. I think they probably thought the show was going to appeal to an older audience with “edgy” humour rather than children, but even then the “jokes” were literally just about having s ex with an 8 year old or the 8 year old making inappropriate comments about the subject. Disturbing stuff. D’Angelo Wallace’s video on Shane showed footage from that awful show.

I watched it when kids react was the only thing they had, back when I was a kid. Then I watched teens react when they announced it. Stopped watching and next time I looked, they got kids, teens, adults, college kids, parents, elders, and so forth. Obviously just milking the fuck they can out of the format.

Fine Bros. is popular for the same reason that watchmojo or screenrant is popular: They pump out so many videos with compelling titles that pretty much everyone has seen at least one of their videos. So even if their content isn't good enough to keep most people hooked for more than a few videos they are able to stay afloat simply by following trends and getting into people's recommended.

Crazy how this is basically the same thing that Charlie and a lot of others have been doing on stream ever since react content became popular on KZfaq/Twitch. I mean the only difference is that these videos actually edit out the parts where there’s a reaction whereas streamers rebroadcast the entirety of someone’s work just to occasionally pause and make a comment. I think the whole react theme just shows how isolated we all are, because watching reaction videos is kind of a placeholder for watching videos with your friends and you discuss and enjoy it together - but we don't have anyone sitting there with us anymore, so we get these people to react for us (or for our friends) so we feel less lonely. It's like the millenial generation having Friends reruns uninterrupted in the background so we feel like we are with others in our cold little lonely room.

Way back when it was just Kids React, it was actually fantastic! Remember this is when KZfaq viral videos were at their peak, so unflitered reactions of young kids was really funny. They soon added Teens React which was still solid. Honestly though, they probably shouldn've quit there, and then stopped when videos were supplanted by still memes. But that's just my take

I'm sure when they first started doing the idea, it felt at least a little fresher than it did now, at least it did for me; especially, though this may be down to opinion, how they started introducing different types of the videos with different demographics surrounding each one. I only ever watched Kids React or Elders React, since their reactions are unique and genuine, they're seeing the stuff for the first time, and the reactions are neat to see. I rarely, if ever, watch Teens React, Adults React, or Young Adults react. If I want that, I'd just look up an ordinary reaction video on KZfaq.
