If you work more hours with the Nkrataa at the end of the year it will go against the owner of the Nkrataa during filing of taxes. Hence people don't want you to work too much. That is the whole point.
@dennismarfo3536

It depends on the modality for paying the taxes. According to her, the tax was deducted from her salary together with medical insurance and others in behalf of the document owner . How is it the case that the document owner will pay tax again when they are filing their tax returns at the end of the year ? Stop throwing dust into people's eyes by lumping two different situations together.

@nancy, what are are saying is so right!! I know some one who is using some one’s Nkartaa, and she was told not to make more than $50,000 a year. What other person is not getting is the owner is working too. The more money you make, the more money you’ll pay IRS at the end of the year. In my case I can decide to make $100,000 or more.

@@dennismarfo3536 you definitely do not understand the American tax system. People select what percentage of tax to be deducted from their pay check upfront and most people select the lowest category. Then come tax filing time for the current year which you do between January to April 15 the following year, you could owe the government if not enough tax was taken out of your paycheck or you could get a refund if you overpaid due to too much being taken out of your paycheck. So yes people can owe takes come tax time and I believe that is what was happening in this case.

Mam, good advice with your short stay here. Kudos, keep your eyes on the prize. U are on the right path. I have lived in your area, specifically close to 30 years. I am retired now in Texas having lived in America in total of 50+ years. Indeed it’s a land of opportunity but I totally disagree with the idea of spending $20K for connection. It’s a bad idea. With that kinda of money & careful planning a person will be far better to advance in Ghana than in Yankeeland. Good luck. Just my 2 cents contribution. ❤

$20,000 for connection? I don't think it's a wise decision, if you're wise and prudent and have good business knowledge, there's no need to spend that amount of money to travel. Wait until you start paying rent and utilities bills , then you would realize how really life is, in the United states. DJ ask those who have been here for a long time and they will tell you the reality on the ground. The first two or three years that I came here I was also not paying rent, and when I started paying for all those things the reality downed on me. I'm not saying if you happen to get a visa you should not come.

@@jeapel100 Good point. What kind of job can u get to save $20K? It’s going to take a long time. Even doctors who are in the top echelon of the employment sector in America have to deal with students loan, living expenses, paying mortgage & taking care of the family. Unless u win the lottery. I am not saying it’s not doable but it’s going to take many many years. Of course u will to enjoy life. Slaving & saving this amount will involve sweat, tears & back-breaking jobs. Unsolicited contribution from someone who has been in the trenches in America for more than 50+ years. Retired borga in Texas

Ghanaians in diaspora especially the old borgas and borgawaa's they don't want the new generation to work hard and get money. Someone is using your documents to work and you are telling the person your documents is working too much. Aaaba! Skinpain. from old borgas and borgawaa's when people are using your documents to work have some respect and sympathy since in the long run you benefit more than the person using your documents to work. At the end of the tax year you file for tax, medical insurance, pension are all generated for you for the person working with your documents..
