My grandfather used to warn my uncle's even if a child becomes a thief never curse a child from my generation these are narcissist parents that are always trying to attach themselves to children and if they feel disconnected they look for ways to still attach to you a cursing parent will remain poor and no child will ever have peace when one of your child is suffering

This made me cry for what we go through when raising kids grandchildren. Some makes mistakes unknowingly. Thinking they know it all. Children can be disrespectful towards their parents simply for lack of knowledge. I try to speak kindly to my daughter when she makes me angry. I explain to her what she did and why it's wrong. I then ask her to apologize on the spot. I vowed never to speak words that would bring her a curse. So far, so good. She's learning how to show me respect and trying not to upset me. She's only 14, so hopefully there are better days ahead.
