I drove a 1973 Ferrari Daytona!!

One of the most iconic Ferrari's ever made - the Daytona came right after Ferrari's spectacular top 3 finish at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1967. Designed by legendary Pininfarina designer, Leonardo Fioravanti, its design is distinct from its 275 and 250 predecessors, although its V12 Colombo engine is largely similar to the one used in the 275GTB right before it. Great cars. I would have a Daytona in my dream car garage for sure as loved the styling when I first saw one in a pub car park as a young boy 40 years ago.

Nice video. If I may, though, it was the last front engined two seater but not the last front engined V12. The 365GT4 2+2 was briefly on sale at the same time as the Daytona and was more expensive, and it was made in 400 and 412 versions continuously until 1989.

Nice review!! I always like the fact that you include the engine starting part when you review a car. I always feel so emotional whenever I start the engine of a sports car with a big engine.

Hi J, so happy to see you got a chance to drive one! Great review!! It was great to see your reaction to her! She is our holly grail of sorts! I’ve spent some time sitting in at fellow customers Plexi Daytona at my mechanics and that alone brought a huge smile to my face. The Daytona was the reason I bought my Maranello! To get as close to the experience as I can, without having to sell one of my kids.. 😉

Absolutely that car came with a gated shifter from factory. It;s had the gate replaced with the leather shifter boot at some time.

@peterb3842 The gate for the shifter is there under the leather boot. The leather boot did not replace the gate. RHD Daytonas had the leather boot covering the gate at the insistence of Colonel Ronnie Hoare of Maranello Concessionaires who had the rights to sell RHD Ferraris at the time.
