I know I’m in the minority, but I do too. I would rather all the tryhard tournaments went away. The game is more fun and entertaining with items/hazards. Watching pros play with them is absolutely insane, and it’s awesome.

@@trailertrash2147 I feel like calling them tryhard tournaments is detracting away from how incredible the competitive scene is. At its core, Smash is a fighting game with a lot of mechanics that were made for competitive players like SDI. People would inevitably try to master them. There's a lot of history in Smash, and it only exists because people put their heart and soul into perfecting their character and trying to prove they've got what it takes to be the best. It's what some people love to do, and I think that's something to be celebrated. Just look at Smash Melee, it's been alive since 2001 because the competitive scene is so passionate. The game would've been dead a long time ago with the tryhard players. I do wish more tournaments had items and hazards as a side event though, it's nice to see every once in a while. Maybe check out Super Smash Con's Smash 64 Combo Contests, they use items and the best players always show up.

⁠​⁠@@trailertrash2147I think we can see more casual tournaments from top players without having all the “tryhard tournaments go away.” Those tryhards are why the grass looks greener on the other side. Smash is designed with both in mind, having them both would be much better than just one.

@@alpha7even928You know crouch dash is only fully invincible for like 2 frames per dash right? Most of the invincibility is just upper body so the final smashes still hit.

Yes because people experienced with final smash attacks know the hit box and activation of it so they put themselves into positions where you don’t have an easy shot. It’s another level of mind games tbh.
