TIG : you need to stop thinking about those who are going to be 'happy' about you being four over par after 8 .. they are the extremely small minority of people but they're the annoying ones who will post . 95 % of the people who watch you are wanting you to do your best at all times . Until you do than it's gonna be hard to be real committed on your shot Bec you will be having all the negative thoughts in your head . Just be you and embrace your own personality ... don't apologise for your quirks .. you are who you are and the only way to ensure failure is by pretending to be anyone else . And don't worry ,, when you are in your head you just are more relatable to most of us watching !!!

100% right. It’s long format, plus medal round. There’s no hiding, no gimmes, no blobs, no edits. Plus, you’ll often find yourself in a group with a guy playing well making birdies early putting you under pressure. Not to mention the difficulty of the course in tournament conditions. It takes a lot of focus to score well in tournament play.

Tournaments are tough, especially the one day ones. Suggestion for your next tournament if you're going to record it: You play golf and let someone else narrate. Just concentrate on your game, no commenting between holes, nothing else. Too many things to think about the way you did it. BTW, I would love to be able to shoot a 76 tomorrow but it's only a dream for me right now - and - it's going to be raining tomorrow :) My best to you Tig!

I recently heard a good mental tip! and used it in my last round of golf. I shot 71 which was 1 over par(I'm a 7 hcp), the tip was - "Don't be careless but care less!", having that mindset freed me up because I didn't 'care', it reduced tension and I was mentally relaxed for the round(because it didn't matter), "caring less' allowed me to play much better golf, I guess it's some kind of reverse psychology, The more importance you place on a shot/outcome the greater the expectation and pressure, the minds a funny thing, but yeah it worked for me! Care less...hope this little nugget helps you in your next round, let me know! Jeff from Australia. x

Roco is 100% right! if you start to look at your shots like a glass half full instead of half empty the score will drop! your chasing perfection.... and when it comes to golf no one is perfect. So stop trying to be perfect, you will continue to let yourself down. And then your score will show it.

This is nonsense. Those professionals focus on mindset because they have already perfected the physical tools to hit the shots required. Once you have all that nailed down, it's the mental side of things (and some luck) that determines who is shooting -1 and who is shooting -6 and winning tournaments. Micah consistently wants to skip over the step of developing truly elite skills (other than ball speed) and blame everything on a weak mental game. He's actually correct, but his mental flaw is that he's not willing to admit his ball striking and shot making are weak, so he instead blames "commitment".

Love that you have decade, that’s going to help a lot. Only thing tough about this round is your expectation/ reaction, and your speed on the 3 putts. A couple things Scott talks about, you can never be unhappy with a 2 putt from outside 15feet the make percentage is like 20% on tour, same goes for your expectations and reactions to approach shots birdies are “lucky” they come when you stuff it, or when you get lucky and drain a bomb. Knowing these Micah, you can better dissect what you actually need to work on, rather than thinking all of your shots are bad. That’s a distorted version of reality and could be discouraging!

Hang in there Tig lots of good to take away. Your up and down from inside 100 yards was top shelf. When you trusted your swing you were dialed. The greens seem either slow or quick. You made a few long saves but the lips of the cups spit out everything. I'd like to see your stats on a 3, 4 woods could carry some shorter par 4 with a tighter dispersion. Your working hard the balls will start to drop on more of your well struck chips shots. Your camera man was right, you were under the hole 5' "ah short", when it was perfect.

Rooting for you Micah !! Seriously !! You have the right idea on 'establishing and trusting the process'. Still going 300 mph inside your head tho. Please play at least one serious round with a Very simple approach; Hit the ball Straight, Middle of Fairway, Middle of Green, Two Putt. That could hopefully slow the 'process' down just enough to get you back on track. Once the 'process' has been taken to it's most basic form, then you can start worrying about whether you're hitting draw, or fade, right side, left side, or 158 vs 155 for an iron (i.e. fine tune the process) I use this in every day life. Doesn't happen often, but, Ever notice you go thru times where the most minor things go wrong all day, for several days? Spill a drink, knock over something from the table, drop your keys.. The most little things wrong over and over. We all go thru that. Your body and mind are 'out of sync'. When I realize that is happening, I slow things down. Think about picking up that cup of coffee, think about getting the keys out of my pocket, think about whatever the next little thing I'm doing. Usually, by the end of that day, I'm back in sync for at least the next several months or longer Golf already being the mental game it is, It's worth a try.

Agreed. These comment sections are fantasy land. I love the channel. Well produced. I watch most of the videos. But god forbid you make realistic comments about the golf and everyone loses their minds. Golf is a statistical and analytical game. It is more than obvious “how good” someone is at this game. You can’t mediate your way out of a 2 way miss. The man makes a living playing golf every day - thats the magic.
@spectre205
@spectre205 19 күн бұрын
@@gjack2008 The self-deception is strong here. Somehow all the bad shots (and there are many) are ex-post attributed to some "mental" factor before the shot. Loves to talk about how he wasn't committed. OK, let's take you at face value and believe that's the cause. I'd ask then what are you doing to ensure commitment over every shot? That seems to never get mentioned. The fact that "lack of commitment" is only brought up after bad shots leads me to conclude; it's just the latest excuse to avoid admitting the truth: His shotmaking skills are lacking. This makes it seem like one day he can just snap out of it, get committed, and shoot mid 60s. No, with his current game 100% commitment on every shot is still a recipe for a low single digit HCP, which is a far cry from the ranks of actual professionals.

Thats an immediate and clear indication of improvement! Also. Forget about youtube, fans, and keyboard warriors at competitive competitions. You’re already competing against a field of talented golfers, adding in the keyboard warriors and the haters in your rounds is a lot and takes a toll on your mental ability to play the game. Condense, consolidate, and execute. You’re a great player and you have invested so much time and energy into your game. @@stabilis8895his tournament average is like 78-80 and his KZfaq average is like 66-68. It’s too extreme to be truthful. Believe what u want.

When you watch his game he is nowhere near a plus handicap…he has no control. The only thing he does to fool people is hit it hard in simulators and just complain after every shot like he shoulda done better. Watch the putts him this vid. He’s acting like he lipped out when he misses by 4 inches.

My man Gavin cruised through to a smooth victory here. Boy is solid. Sweeney is solid too rough day for him but he’s a good playing partner.

Love your content bro. Throw the driver in the bin though. You started playing so well not using it then as soon as you pulled it out of the bag it cost you a bunch of shots again. When you didn’t use it you shot -4

It seems that many of your approach shots end up right of the hole or aiming point. On one of the holes you aimed right due to the location of the pin. You seemed pleases with the result. I feel what you need to figure out is why you push your approach shots when aiming at the pin as opposed to hitting your target when not aiming at the pin. Great video.

The draw off the tee has just brought you more inconsistency even with the improved short game getting those strokes back is very tough

Here is the problem with your comment, these so called haters are NOT claiming to be PRO, as this guy does.....Micah is a salesman period he will never get a touring card.... LMAO @ 76 on that easy course...

There are players at muni's all over the country of all kinds of ages that can go out there and shoot that number on that day. Most can't, but there are so many really good golfers out there. Some of them can shoot those numbers playing 2 times a week. I know 2 60 year old guys that I'd bet on before Micah, both are still long and don't miss shots very often. Might lose, maybe not. If I were Micah, I'd enjoy what I have and grow it, probably copy the Kwan method and see the world.

@@DavidClark081 : No that is not what he said. How long have you been following him? He even did a video in 2022 where he said FOLLOW me to the pro tour card.... and started talking about all the events he was going to play in and what did we get in 2023? Play golf with Grant, Play golf with Grant, Play golf with Grant bought a new house, Play golf with Grant..played golf with George and Wesley .....etc Even in the so called pro events he was in was laughable just like Myrtle Beach what a disaster that was just like here. The man is a salesman period. See Garrett and Grant have been honest about the tour this guy, his game has gotten WORSE since his days with GM Golf and Good Good showing it's all bs he has zero aspirations of getting on tour. Go look through his 2022 videos look for the ones in Dec. I highly doubt the one I am talking about is still there but take a look. George puts in the time and effort and will do so until he either gets his card, which I truly believe he will or he decides enough is enough. George is a fighter for what he wants, Micah has no fight just followers believing his bs.

@@DavidClark081you don't see anyone on the korn ferry tour making youtube videos. They're too busy working on their craft to film random golf "tournaments". Just not how it works. You either spend all your time working to go pro or you make money creating content. Not both. He's doing fine with youtube, don't expect anything more unless he decides to give up youtube and risk his financial stability.
