We stayed two nights at Lake Las Vegas (Thanks to your video about the place!) during our visit. We got to go down and see the lake and drive around and took the drive from there up to Valley of fire. That’s a drive you need to do it’s absolutely gorgeous! I was blown away by the beauty and this is coming from British Columbia Canada and living near Whistler. It’s so sad about the water levels

Great video! Also it's shocking how low the water level is in Lake Mead. I live in Las Vegas and didn't realize its dropping that fast. The waterline is insane. Serious rain is needed upstream over the next few years. 🌧🌧🌧🌩

That isn't lake Mead. That's "what's left" of lake Mead. While I realize there is a prolonged drought in the SW...perhaps they should stop building the shit out of AZ, CA and NV. Just a thought.

Thanks Pompsie. There used to be much more. And the fishing for me was the most fun out there when I was a kid. If you want carp, I remember throwing popcorn off the dock and the big carp would eat everything.

I know this was posted 2 weeks ago. But update with Lake Mead that made national news…two bodies in barrels found at Lake Mead from low water levels. Most likely from Vegas Mob days from 70s 😬. More bodies expected to be found as water levels get lower…

When I was a teenager, you just drove to the lake and hung out. You didn't pay a dime to go to the lake and the year I got married the water was so high it was spilling over the spillway at the damn. The best time ever was weekends on a rented house boat on Lake Mead.

Lake Mead is pretty big from airplane view. l liked seeing the tour and other boats at the end. There is some money out there docked, for sure. i love Gretas bathing suit. 😊

Yes Lake Mead My Son & Grandkids fish there alot. Catch & release. In 1990's when I lived in Vegas, & Green Valley(*12 years) Used to hangout on my Friends boat there. Good memories

I’m from jersey as well…go to lake mead often …yes nice and quiet with views…about time you went…..try willow beach ,, it’s just outside of Hoover dam ..20 minutes into Arizona

For sure get a jet ski! I’ve owned skis for over 25 years. Love it!! Here in San Diego we mostly go in salt water. It makes for a lot of work flushing and cleaning after a day on the water. You don’t have to do any of that after skiing on a lake. 👍🏻

When that water is gone Las Vegas may go as well.

Literally just got back home to Summerlin from Lake Mead. Checked out the visitor center and it has a nice gift shop and taking my 13 year old boy to fish tomorrow at Willow Beach.

I love the beach..need to visit it more often

I’m surprised you didn’t comment on the water levels. The white rocks shows the levels where they were and are. I mean years ago where you were standing was under water. I think that’s significant enough to mention.

There’s a beach there now because the water has went down so much. In places we used to scuba dive it was 300 plus feet deep. It was only a cove but now it’s less that 25 feet. Back in the 80s 90s and early 2000s you would literally see hundreds of people around the lake. But that was when there was water. People don’t realize how dire the situation is for the Las Vegas valley.

Nice, wish I could have gone on a boat. We did do a hoover dam tour and got to experience it from far. It was 👍

Have had many fun times at Lake Mead. My parent’s company would do a long weekend houseboat trip once a year for 6-8 years. Always a blast.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Elvis and Ann Margaret filmed some of the movie from Viva Las Vegas at this lake. I think they did some skiing there and Ann Margaret had a place she stayed at there on the dock. I'll have to go back and research again to see if I'm right or not. But it's a cool place. 😎👍

Pompsie, I live right by the Ocean and rarely ever go to the beach lol, Im moving to Summerlin or Henderson in the next couple years.

Pompsi, and Gretta, you need to take the dam tour if you haven't already done so. It's a very interesting, and informative way to spend a few hours deep inside the dam. 3rd time I went on the tour three people were in the elevator with us, and one lady was freaking out saying it was to closed in for her, and she had to get off. They convinced her to stay, and as soon as the doors shut, she dropped like a rock, fainted dead away. We get to the bottom, and the guide, and the couple that were left said what do we do, and I'm like take this elevator back up before she comes to, duh! 😁👍✌

bro when it’s summer it gets super packed. also next time you go you should try looking at the hoover dam from the water, in my opinion it’s a very surreal feeling

Pompsie, you coming from NJ, you can not compare lake Mead with Seaside or Wildwood or Cape May beaches, but I do like Vegas weather a lot more than the weather in Jersey. Keep doing your great videos.

90% of that "beach" is supposed to be under water. The bathtub ring is very noticeable. I had no idea the water was this low. It's 171 feet below full.
