My husband is Algerian and this is like a second home to me. He is from a small town about an hour outside of Constantine, but I've vistied Bejaia before and Jijil. Both very beautiful areas. Also Anaba has a beautiful coastline as well. Algerian ppl are truly amazing and so hospitable. Some of my fondest memories are my visits to Algeria & the first summer there with my husband was probably the best summer of my life. I don't recommend traveling alone in Algeria, but travel with a native Algerian and you'll be fine, especially if you don't speak the language. I encourage you to visit this beautiful country and experience their culture. Our daughter is 7 and we are hoping to get to take her this summer for her first visit to Algeria to meet her fathers family, we wanted to wait to travel this far until she was older and now that she is we will be making the trip from America to Algeria soon. My heart truly misses this beautiful place that holds so many good memories for me.

u keep talking about how bitter the coffee is , but in every coffee look for suger , apple water or rose water (not sure if thats correct ) it's like a light colored water that adds flavor, or ask for choco (chocolate powder) to add to ur coffee ... it's self served so look around u or just ask for it apart from that as an algerian i'm gratefull for what you're doing and how you presenting us to the world and you're always welcome and my country is all yours to explore, tank you ! and i wish my government opens up more opportunities for tourists to come visit our lovely country
