With dip you want to go medium over lapping coats and stay on a straight line through each side of the entire car for the best results. The runs were mainly because you went to heavy and at different angles trying to finish each panel. I made the same mistakes the first couple of times I dipped my car. I know It goes against your instincts but it comes out way better. And if a friend has a two car garage that you can use stick the car in there at an angle , it will help. Not trying to criticize just trying to help and share from previous experience.

I’ve had android and apple. And android is 1,000 times better. Everything when it comes to apple is money. Even to download free apps you have to register a credit card. 15:10 no, it was because you were too slow and / or too close to the surface. TOO CLOSE OR TOO SLOW I’m a graffiti writer and paint alot with spray paint and the same thing happened when i was beginning.

You want to start spraying before you start to make contact with the surface you're spraying. Also, you wanna go the entire length of the car. Keeping a consistent speed and distance takes practice and patience. Last thing you would want is more room to work comfortably.

Next time use xylene for the areas with drips or runs. Xylene will thin out the dip just enough for you to re-dip and blend that area.

Doing dip is like spray painting wall u have do it in layers and it takes about 4 hrs between depending on the temp outside ... all layers are going to be light so it will not run down ur car and will just stay on it like water droplets....the first layer is the must important as it will make sure the rest don't run down

Another way to avoid over spray is to not apply such heavy coats 🤧 go light on it so it doesn’t run

I agree dipping is hard to do, but your coat was way too dense, it should be thinner coats, something like how your hood was at 13:00, just keep that somewhat consistency with all of the coats, and a warmer garage (as you mentioned) It should come out cleaner then :) (and I totally get the lack of space in the garage, that really sucks and will hinder a good wrap job. This is more for people who might not understand what happened to make it run.)

I just sanded my car myself and took it to maaco, other than getting some overspray on my radiator and like 2 tiny runs that they fix for free, the paint looks amazing (it's been a year) not bad for the price

@The Curious Mind I been waxing it every couple months, it looks brand new, I'd be surprised if it started bubbling and peeling. I got it painted summer 2018 so it's almost been 2 years... This is why I prepped the car myself. Haven't gotten any bubbles or peeling yet.

Trent Campa, I had some gravel damage on the hood of a Lancer Ralliart I owned 10 years ago. I used Macco. Very inexpensive as they use single stage paint. It lasted 2 years, I sold it no problem though, so good value IMO. Although I will NOT use single stage paint again, nor will I purchase another Mitsubishi product 🙄

I got a new fender and I just dipped it close enough to factory color but looks like ass, I would try to dip entire car but I think dip on wheels is the best for the whole car it can come out bad if DIY and I ain’t paying to get it sprayed for that might aswell wrpa
