There is one option you haven't tried yet...Bomb the airfield first with a few hundreds of B-17. Then, land carefully, avoiding the bomb holes here and there.

That said, despite hitting the ground incredibly hard it instead does a 90° turn from vertical to horizontal upon impact allowing the pilot to safely get out. But that’s also the pilot being built like a tank because he should’ve turned into tomato paste
