There's One item off the old bucket list
Comet NEOWISE in full HD video
I used a Sony A7s coupled to an Apertura DT12 Telescope
Most was filmed in prime and a couple shots with a 9mm eyepiece

aali the quacc will eat your italian restaurant it can be a bit difficult to see depending on where you live, I had to use binoculars because I live in a big city. Also, it is only visible from the northern hemisphere. If you want to see it, it becomes visible about 90 minutes after sunset and it’s usually to the bottom right of the Big Dipper. Those are the only tips I know but I’m sure you could find many articles online about how to see it.

Yeah, I was also 18 at the time and clearly remember watching the great comet Hale Bobb. Although Neowise is cool, it pales in comparison. Hale Bobb was spectacularly bright in the twilight and was in the sky for months, I remember. We are very lucky to have witnessed that one.

I remember it well. I was here in the Colorado Rockies at 8,200 feet. It was only 2nd to the moon in brightness in the night sky. Interestingly, I've barely been able to see Neowise, it's so faint. Although, I was unable to catch it when it was closer. Looked, but didn't see it until a few days ago. Btw, remember the cult that killedb themselves hoping to get a ride on the alien spacecraft hiding behind Hale Bopp? Lol

It's the first comet I've personally seen and because of how short nights are here during summers (about 3 hours with 1-2 am being the darkest) it's been a bit annoying to go to a place with low enough light pollution to even view it, but with something like this, where it won't be visible for 5-6k years, I knew I just had to make the effort ^-^°

Look on the bottom right from 2:11 through 2:18 and slow video speed to 25% (.25x) There's a light that shows up traveling from right to left. Then, when you shine your laser in the sky right over it's path on the video slowed down it appears to create a trail of 2 or three lights, almost like a sparkle and then it disappears completely. The trail of lights shows also when it first appears in the video at 2:11. Years ago, someone had just purchased the then new A7S and was recording the sky at high ISO, he ended up recording two lights twirling across the sky making a twisting motion. He could not see it with his eyes but, the camera picked it up.

@@matt8863 According to reports by NASA, Neowise Comet is travelling at the mind-boggling speed of 17,500 miles per hour, which in kilometres is 2816 kilometres per hour. There is no rule that comets cant be slower than ISS and there's no reason for him to be wrong because you are right. Comets heat up and it's speed increases as it gets close to the sun. My assumption is NASA calculated the speed much earlier.
