those of us that are bonafide petrol-heads absolutely LOVE seeing a transformation like this. a person who kinda wants to get into cars, surrounded by car people who guide them through it, so that they can build and enjoy their own creation. THIS is why car people are the best! Ethan did a fantastic job on a proper little sports car. the result is excellent, a great drivers car that is still comfortable, but zippy enough to take to the track and have some fun. well done!

5:03 this is why you need to heel and toe on RWD cars cause the engine braking acts like a handbrake "locking" (momentarily) the rears wheels and when you steer at the same time the rear just spins out uncontrollably something you don't want while racing anywhere... rallying included.

Maybe a carbon duck tail and some new suspension bits to stop it being floppy around corners (maybe a thick boy turbo aswell) Don’t want to boss you around or anything it’s just a couple ideas you could do. Considering how much he likes practical cars, perhaps a ute or light truck could be good for Ethan's second project? CT have done track cars several times, so maybe something utilitarian for the road could suit him a bit more. Make it a challenge! That being said however you can't overlook this. I love the Z3, you've done a stellar job Ethan, you legend!

You know what... I'm proud of Ethan! Like he said before this he didn't know how to do anything to a car. Cars are very satisfying to fix and modify and honestly once you start doing it, it's something you'll want to keep doing it.

When I lived in rural Pennsylvania it was no trouble finding roads like that track and I would hustle all sorts of cars around my favorite sections. Now that I live in Florida the only place to find roads like that are almost always on racetracks. Man, I miss being able to " test " cars on twisty bits.

I couldn't be more proud of the journey Ethan has taken over the past 2 years and I think Ethan deserves a final clean up build on the Z3 after seeing those seats; wrap the car and then get aftermarket clear tail lights and headlights as the yellow looks very dated.

If it's anything like my old E36 M3 it will need a non standard wheel alignment of around -2 to -2.5 degrees front camber with 0 degrees toe on the front and about -1 to -1.5 degrees rear camber and 0.5 toe in on the rear to maximize the grip on track, and in general. Negative front camber causes natural toe in on the front if you didn't know. Edit: ask that racing Z3 owner

I love watching Ethan becoming more and more of a car guy. As he gained some knowledge over the past few years I would think it would be awesome to challenge ethan by maybe giving him 2 years to get a proper car guy and letting him try to do a journeyman exam to see how far he could come from zero knowledge to expert

The end of the project? That’s the start mate! Turbo, ECU, e85, coilovers, strip and cage it, etc etc. Then you start blowing gearboxes so upgrade that, and probably build the motor with head studs and forged rods and pistons. Etc etc.

Ethan driving hard enough to spin it and laughing (after the terrors in the past) is great to see.

It's a point where you think to yourself for the very first time: "even though I know nothing about it, there are manuals and stuff.
