👁 ABOUT THIS VIDEO: The Skyline R34 had an intelligent all-wheel-drive system with a limited-slip rear differential (LSD), which helped the car accelerate faster on the corner's exits. An important feature of the car was the Multi-Function-Display (MFD) that was mounted on the dashboard. This display showed many of the car's engine stats including boost pressure, oil temp, water temp and more. As a 1999 car, this kind of technology was very rare and advanced at the time.

I remember in the early to mid 00's those R34 GTRs were EVERYWHERE around where I live in Ireland. They were incredibly common and a guy a few doors down from my house had a stunning white example and would host GTR meetups most weekends, so my estate would be full of them. Then almost as if by magic, they all seemed to dissappear. The guys who owned the cars got married, had kids, got mortgages and really had no place for the cars any more, so they sold them off and seems like they've vanished into thin air they are so rare to see nowadays. I imagine many of those GTRs are sitting in a garage or shed somewhere gathering dust which is a shame.

Yeah F&F2 glorified that car in 03 so they no doubt shot up in value justifying a sale for people like that. It's iconic and has an intoxicating growl to it, like a lot of Nissan's really.

@@runyanpiano It's unbelievable to think of the effect F&F had on the car world when it was first released. The first film caused an explosion of over the top bodykitted cars and Supra sales went through the roof. The max power magazine then also had a huge impact at the same time and cars were trading for crazy prices. Sometimes I miss hearing the sound of a 1litre 1992 Toyota Corolla, with an exhaust the size of an industrial turbine lol

That must be one of the nicest GTR's ive seen. How it was put together, the combo and that paint alone is insane. It sits perfect, has a nice rake, he went polished instead of chrome on the wheels ( like porsche purists do ) awesome.

@@JutKip not sure about the Porsche remark. But the difference in polished and chrome are completely different. Chrome is metal that has been etched and dipped in many chemical baths and then “chrome dipped” chrome is a coating. Usually a very thick coating. Polished is just that.Metal that is polished with progressively finer grits and compounds until the desired shine is achieved.

Replying to this cause I want manny to see* MANNY buy this car idk if it will go up much in value after this but look at that paint!!! and good content to have some Jdm people find you no doubt they’ll stick around. Then buy another kind of holy grail car. Sure they’ll take up space but you can fs do it and you’ll have a lot of fun while making content. A very different kind of fun than the super cars 😉

I must have watch that launch at 6:34 over a dozen times, the first time it actually scared me how loud and powerful that R34 is! But the best thing was Manny's reaction, how caught off guard he was! His facial expressions had me dying: "woah hold on man!? What you doing!? I have 2 kids!! Marks all nonchalant like "yeah me too."

Which is what I would prefer for such an iconic car like this. This has been my favorite car since it was manufactured, I grew up loving these cars and the tuner world but not every R34 needs to be used and abused.

@@vern3556 Wouldn't you call ultra exclusive hyper cars that are only offered to very specific clientele a bubble? If you ask me that's practically the definition of a bubble. Manny even admits it from the very beginning of the video starting at 0:05. He says he knows a ton about hyper cars, but almost nothing about JDM and older tuner cars. He indirectly admitted that he is in fact in his own little bubble..... I did not intend the "little bubble of cars" part of my previous comment to be disrespectful, but I guess you took it that way.

Very interesting conversation hearing about how Manny regrets selling certain cars at the time he did because it could’ve worked out better if he stayed patient. Manny, I would to hear you talk about your investment woes as a result of selling too soon as opposed to holding on cause it’s always so interesting delving into the mind of an investor and understanding how they understand (or in this case misunderstanding) markets

R34 has definitely become a great investment. A buddy of mine bought one from Japan in 2013 for just under $80k CAD. And the past couple years, he's gotten multiple offers for $200k+ at car meets.

@@LaidBackDeveloper no jdm car is perfect but building it to your own taste is why jdm cars get soo much attention from car guys. Also aftermarket for jdm cars is just super big especially for older cars. Plus their just fun and not too expensive too build depending what you have

looks at gear to shift, doesn't down shift when slowing, tries to slam into 3rd and missed.....yep he has it on point. what cracks me up is when he said he has 2 kids but when he was driving, he turns around to watch the camera while going around a corner.....yep safe driver

Manny shifts like a Japanese drifter. Smooth clutch operation there. Took me 4 mins to remember he had a manual Ferrari & Porsche back then. Manny, come to Asia and have a drive. You adapted well to Right Hand Drive

I think right hand drive suits most people better. We are mostly right handed, can hold on to the steering wheel with the right hand and shift with our left hand. It seems more natural especially with manual gears.

What an incredible car they are. I'm lucky enough to live not far from an r35 gtr nur spec which is pretty much the rarest most expensive spec 34gtr in the world. These were so far ahead of their time.
