I'm 59 years old. My first vehicle was a 1972 F100! I bought it when I was 15 from my farmer boss. I learned how to work on cars with that truck. I had cab mounts installed by a local welder and repainted by a local body guy. I fixed the floors myself and painted the rims. I loved that truck. It was red with a 302. It also was a three on the tree brought down to the floor. This truck brings back lots of memories!

I understand sanding. Did a restoration/build on a 1947, 45’ wooden sailboat. We also use bondo and faring to make the boat look fiberglass. Didn’t want to have to recalk the seams every year. 6 coats sealer, 3 coats of barrier cover to keep the parasites out of the wood, 2 primer coats, and 2 finish coats. Sanding between each coat. Boat is going around the world.

I'll beeeee dipped. This is a beaut. What a project. As a foreigner but big fan of the US of A (A guy feels at home there Fellers).. This truck is a timeless symbol of the American dream. Just a humble honest hard working Pick-em-up truck but something that your nation is so good at. Saving this and the many others that you all have as projects is doing your nation such pride. Good luck to the entrants and much love from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇺🇸

Hey good luck to you kerrylewis2581 and everyone else. I didn't participate the contest as I have my own build starting. The most important thing is that we are all about saving these great classic rides. Of America and other countries from around the world to cruise the road again.

I had 2 f-150 pickups. One was the '78 with the blue on blue, that interior looks like my truck. Then an '84 standard with the 4 speed and a 300 straight 6. You captured both my trucks in one. Fantastic! Even my wife said "Neat".

Been following a feller since the beginning. Love all the revivals and projects, but this is by far the best payoff EVER. This truck would haven new in my senior year of HS. I worked at an Amoco gas station right next-door to the Ford dealer so I saw them on the lot every day. Warms a guy's heart, and... I'm a die hard MOPAR guy!

Thank you so much for putting the original steel wheels back on that truck with those hubcaps. I don't think there's any aftermarket wheels that would look better than what you've done!! What a wonderful truck, you really outdid yourself on this one. Thank you for taking us along for the whole experience. :)

Loved this build from beginning to end. Brought back some memories when my dad got his new shiny 1977 Ford truck. His 300 straight 6 looked nothing like the one in this truck though😂 This truck is simply beautiful. You and your friends did an amazing job on it. Whoever wins that truck won't stop smiling for a week.

Looks great. That's the set up I'd like. I used to have an 81 f100 with 3 on the tree. It was a beater, but after I tore out all the vacuum lines and adjusted the choke, and tuned in the distributor by ear, it ran smooth, plus I got 30+ mpg. That's with pulling a camper. I miss my truck.
