What's up guys! I couldn't take the heat in Texas and I was going to give the Mugen to a shop but they wanted $1100-$3000! So I took matters into my own hand!

I replaced my ac compressor today using this video as reference. I didn’t have to take off the alternator though, there was plenty of room when you remove the radiator fan.

This is the best tutorial out there, and most accurate to how it should be done. The only thing different is you don't have to remove the alternator, it was still easy to reach the bolts on the compressor and fish out.

Hmm did you checked the condenser if it was oily? On my car was the condenser that was leaking refrigerant. And a condenser is cheaper than buying a whole compresor

Why did you take the oil out of the new compressor and put less?
@shankysachdev9413
@shankysachdev9413 Жыл бұрын
Because I didn’t change the condenser and other parts of the system, there will be oil throughout the system. So I measured what was in the broken compressor and added that same amount to the new compressor!

what is the problem if the manifold does not go to negative in Hg pressure after vaccuming the brand new ac compressor. It stay on only zero pressure after 45 - 60 mins vacuum. Is there somewhere leak on the a/c system? Need your advice to fix it. Thanks
@shankoem
@shankoem 11 ай бұрын
Hey! Definitely sounds like you have a leak somewhere! You’re not going to like my answer but the best way to identify your leak is to fill the system with Freon with a leak detection dye. Once it leaks out you’ll be able to see where the leak is with a blue light.

Sorry maybe I missed it in the video but did you say a rough estimate of price for all the parts and tools needed?
@shankoem
@shankoem Жыл бұрын
Hey! The compressor is $300 from Amazon, you also need the gasket kit which runs about $10. Freon was about $30-$40. Can’t really give a price on tools as they are stuff I’ve collected over time. But you can rent a lot of things from local parts stores.

I replaced my ac compresor on my civic si 2007 sedan (denso). Every time I give some gas ( rev around 1500 and above) in neutral with the ac on, the ac compresor clutch clicks, like engaged again. Is that normal? It blows cold.
