Former flight attendant here, Noel. I just wanted to say that despite your apparent exhaustion from nonstop traveling, I always appreciate you making the conscious effort to always give the crews and agents a warm greeting. If everyone who flew were half as gracious as you are, the industry’s quality of life would increase exponentially. Thanks for the great videos!

Southwest is one of my favorite airline despite being lowcost. My aunt was a flight attendant for them for decades so my family has some brand loyalty, but even the more prestigious airlines can hardly beat the 2 free checked bags that they offer and their safety record. I also love the wifi on board and the friendliness of the flight attendants. Of course, I wasn't affected by their logistical melt down over christmas, so I imagine if I had experienced that I would have soured on them.

Quick travel tip for anyone flying in to LaGuardia going to Manhattan: Take the Q70 bus (FREE) from the airport to 61st & Woodside. Go to the LIRR ticket area and catch the rail to New York Penn (34th street, west side) or Grand Central Madison (42-48 streets, east side). $5 City Ticket (non-rush hours). 11-16 minutes later and there you are!! Don't take a taxi unless you really have no other choice. Take Lyft if you have to as it's a flat rate. Those green/yellow meter guys will take you the longest way through as much traffic as possible to keep the meter ranking up $$$
@ScootsMcPoot
@ScootsMcPoot 2 ай бұрын
Good advice for chicago too. Ask locals, new York and chicago have a vast transport system. You can get anywhere cheap. Taxis are for downtown and short trips. They are all trying to rip you off. They even manipulate the meter to move from acceleration alone. They will sit on the breaks at lights and Rev at like 3krpm to add $ to meter at lights. That's if they actually stop at a light. When I lived in wrigleyville I got hit by 2 taxis in a month. Not bad hits. But they are wild

For some reason KZfaq recommended this video to me even though i'm not subscribed (sorry!) but i really enjoyed this vid. Massive appreciation that you took this much effort for 1 video. But what got me the most is that you approached every staff in the same very friendly way. Thanking them for their work and making them feel appreciated, which unfortunately is something that almost nobody does. Seeing you go around the world this way, just might make some people's dreams come true. I love business class and first. But it's often out of reach without miles or a lucky departure date. I applaud you making this video. I thank you for this. No one really does economy flying. You are diversifying. Hey, Aussie here too. I flew both Jetstar internationally and domestically recently. Since I’ve flown virgin Australia domestically a lot I can say that Jetstar international flights are about the same quality as virgin Australia domestic. However, for Jetstar domestic, it was really bad. At least I wasn’t canceled, but I was stuck in the boarding line for 45 minutes. I was so tired from my previous connecting flight that I slept before we took of and woke upon landing. Jetstar international was still very uncomfortable though.

Noel, since you travel many hours at a time on a plane, mostly stationary, this is where strokes and heart attacks can come from, you may want to talk to your doctor about taking an aspirin or two a day or two before flying many hours. Deep leg thrombosis is very dangerous. All the best as usual and thank you for sharing your experiences.

Those low cost airline flights were a real blast from the past. My Dad worked as a gate/ticket/fueling agent for Northwest for almost 30 years. The 70's was our family's time for international travel, and those cramped seats and packed planes were the only way to fly (for us). The food was great, though. On one overseas flight home, me, my little brother, and our parents had four separate non-revenue seats in different parts of the plane. They'd take turns checking on us kids.🛫

Congratulations!🎉 As a former flight attendant for 33 years, I definitely circumnavigated our planet countless times, serving countless numbers of passengers from all over our planet. And I loved my job and met countless friendly people from all over the planet. But I could never survive an 80hrs. trip around the world, mostly squeezed in low-cost carriers' economy class. Probably you had to put me in a medical intensive care unit in Singapore 😂 or Melbourne, at the latest. I can still remember the mid 1990's, when a around-the-world ticket cost the same, but on full service airlines.

In my opinion, Scoot long-haul is not for everyone, you have to be very flexible and be willing to deal with long periods of discomfort in an effort to save hundreds on airfare. Personally I also believe Scoot would be more suitable for short/medium-haul high revenue regional flights

I did a similar RTW trip many years ago. I traveled on Pan Am... on all B747s. The total cost was $1199. I could have done it for less, $999 - but without a confirmed seat. Plenty of leg room, a big comfortable seat and oh... all meals, beverages and snacks were included in that fare. For comparison, the only in-flight amenity that I didn’t have back then was the variety of individual seat-back entertainment. Obviously air travel has changed. I truly miss those days.... and Pan Am too!!!

I'm amazed that Jetstar didn't take up the full 80Hrs just to get you out of Australia. Jetstar can be a good airline IF and only IF you get them on a good day. There are time where Jetstar can be a real pain to fly with delays, cancellations and even some nasty staff but I got to admit I've been very lucky with them and had some good flights and good staff. It's only recently they have decided to pull their socks up and make things better so hopefully they do. Our new budget airline Bonza airlines is already giving Jetstar a thrashing.

@@COASTER1921 100% I think fly most major US carriers frequently and I find Southwest is much closer to one of the legacies nowadays than to Spirit or Frontier.
