Recently flew a Delta 767-300 to Atlanta from TPA and a Delta 767-400 back for the most part to have the opportunity to fly these amazing aircraft while they are still in service. The 300 was 33 years young and the 400 was 31. I was fortunate enough to have the captain of the 767-300 invite me to the flight deck while prepping for departure out of Tampa. Spent at least 20 minutes on the flight deck which was amazing sitting there in the jump seat while the crew prepared for for departure. Thanks for this Noel. I did not realize that the last 767 passenger aircraft was only 10 years old !

Well, I have to say that Air Astana deserves credit. Both flights went without a hitch, and the staff at Almaty was very helpful tob you, in making that tight connection. Somebody at Air Astana has figured out how to operate an airline properly.

@@mildertduck They will do. Airlines will know who'll be connecting on to what flights at the transit point so should/do make the effort to meet passengers and pretty much fast track them through. This connection was beautifully executed.

As a Kazakh guy, that movie "Kazakhs versus Aliens" was an example of a cringe comedy that has C-rated flat jokes and huge plot holes. It is surprisingly not yet available on KZfaq (most Kazakh studios would upload their movies on their official KZfaq channels a couple months after the cinema screenings, sometimes they even come with English subtitles). From my experiences flying Air Astana, they add English subtitles to all Kazakh movies (usually 1 classic movie + 2 new releases per month). They used to operating many of such long-haul flights with Boeing 757, but now replaced them with A321neos. This year they also launched A321LR flights between Almaty and London Heathrow (with a refueling stop in Aktau) - 11 hours in a narrow-body aircraft

My dad (RIP, dad) received a big fat plaque (not a big fat bonus, mind you) for being the lead systems engineer on the 767 I think it was. He retired from Boeing back in the late 80's/early 90's. Told them where to stick their gold watch when he retired.

Hello Noel. The first time I flew a Boeing 767-200 in 1984 with El Al. I was uncompanied minor flying from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Tel-Aviv. It was really exciting. I thought that the plane was a starship. Since that first flight, I enjoy flying with big planes. When I flew back to France, it was a Boeing 747-200. I was seated in the first row in the nose of the aircraft. The movie that you where watching is the beginning of "Shining". Cheers.

Comment & Suggestion: (1)The capital is renamed (again) back to Astana. Most Kazakh citizens seems to prefer the name Astana anyway. (2) Almaty is a wonderful city, but if you have a chance to choose between Astana or Almaty for your connection, go for Astana: beautiful lounges (4 lounges, I believe) and good shopping. Enjoy your travels!

Hey Noel, I have always loved the 767 as well. Your 7hrs flight is a about the time it takes to fly coast to coast here in Canada. AC 737 Max8 flight from Halifax, NS (YHZ) to Vancouver, BC (YVR) clocks in about 6hrs45mins. For perspective the flight from LHR to YHZ on an AC MAX8 is 6hrs50mins. The longest possible East to West domestic flight would be St. John's, NL (YYT) to YVR but does not have a non-stop, 1 stop flight with a 53 minute layover is clocked at 9hrs21mins.

Is FI last airline standing when it come to pax 767 in Europe? Ex NZ btw. Now FI has ordred 25 A-321 XLR. That has sting for Boeing. I have never seen that movie. Keep up the good work. Be safe!

Jak sie masz? It's a Polish phrase that means How are you? The reason Borat uses it is because the actor, Sacha Baron Cohhen, doesn't speak Russian or Kazakh. But growing up, in Hammersmith, London he interacted with a lot of Polish immigrant children so he learned some basic Polish phrases! Borat actually uses a few other Polish phrases too. Cohen also use a lot of Hebrew in place of Kazahk in the films, his producer speaks Armenian in reply. It just makes the movies even funnier in my opinion.

1st aircraft I flew on was a Cambrian Airways BAC 1-11 416 between Dublin and Manchester. It was small and nippy and very very noisy. I don't get sentimental over it though as I much prefer the more modern 350s and 787 in terms of comfort and quietness. Ive travelled on most of my bucket list aircraft including many Soviet era planes over the years but unfortunately never on a Concorde😭 or indeed a Comet, DC8 or 10. As for your shorts - no comment! 😜

Air Astana are a very good airline, have flown with many times, last flight their A321 NX in the throne seat in business. Do not compare them with SCAT, no comparison! Air Astana are 49% owned by BAE, hence the no flying over or to Russia. Their CEO is British, they are progressing very well. Would definitely recommend. Edited - Ah! You did try it!

British CEO, half-owned by British multinational aerospace company based in London, great service on and off board, and yet Noel still chooses to resort to Borat jokes. Don't get me wrong Noel, the viewers love your quibbles, but these Borat jokes are starting to get old and frankly, quite disrespectful, especially considering that you then proceed to thank the Kazakh cabin crew on your way out. Not much of a sincere gratitude I would say.

We came really close to getting brand new passenger 767 at United a few years ago. United loves their 767 fleet but they’re getting ancient, so they tried to order new ones from Boeing around 2018. Boeing almost said yes, but the price of getting interior components that had been out of production for a decade was just too high. A shame, as it would’ve been awesome to get brand new ones.

Great and passionate video as always. Title is somewhat misleading and suggests, that there is only one airworthy passenger 767 left on this planet. Come over to Japan for the ultimate 767 experience in an unmateched variety from ANA, JAL to Air Do with and without winglets (the latter clearly preferred). 767s still going strong on regular services on this side of the world. The movie is "The shining". Stanley Kubrick shot so much unused footage the for the opening scene that the studio let Ridley Scott use it in 1982 for the end of "Blade Runner". It's the scene where Deckard and Rachael are driving away from the city in his ground car to escape her being retired as a replicant. They added an additional shot of the two of them seated in the car with the countryside around them.

At one point of my life I seemed to live on American Airlines. The joy when the equipment was a 767 rather than a DC10 might seem like heresy these days, but when they were rolled out they were a leap forward. And then the 777 arrived…. Your video did get me thinking about business class lounges, presumably an invention to make up for how generally poor standard airport facilities are. Now I can get excited about lounges like Virgin at Heathrow but the rest? A place to sit, a view if you are lucky and a buffet. An interesting concept of luxury me thinks.

767 is my favorite plane to fly. United flies them ORD-LHR and love them - big but not so big that you wait hours to board/deplane, etc.

Great video Noel! I cannot wait to try and fly Air Astana and visit Kazakstan! However even though that final built B767 must be cool both Delta and United Airlines still fly lots of B767s including the -400ER model that only DL and UA still fly. Anyways great job and cheers 🍻

Yup. UA and DL have the -400 variant, and DL has refit a bunch of the -300 variants that they still use for domestic long-haul and some transatlantic flights as well (e.g. DTW-MUC).

I loved flying in the 767 it is the perfect aircraft if you are in economy 2-3-2 configuration is so comfortable . A shame the 787 squeeze liner did not adopt this config .

I absolutely loved the 767. I wish it was still in production.
