Q's optimal strategy : Step 1 : taunt 3x Step 2 : stand menacingly. Step 3 : repeat.

tbh all he can really do is stand there. his moveset sucks so he has no way to really be agressive. you basically have to stand there and wait for your opponent to do something first as Q.

@@AdamSmasherReal that's where Q shines the most. He's not supposed to be played aggressively (unless you're some psychic veteran like TM). Q is primarily a great defensive character, if you play the turtle game against your opponent you will see wonders, the more you play the more your reflexes and reads grow, just like any other character with huge boxes you'll have to master parrying, and it will pay greatly. The best example of a turtle Q player was and still Kuroda. He doesn't rush things at all while feasting on his opponents misreads and whiffs. Q compensate for his lack of good buttons with great damage setups along with a crazy taunt feature and even crazier kara throw/command grab range.

@@GentlemanQ which characters like chun-li, yun, ken, makoto, basically anyone in the game can do all of that and get way more reward off of it. there's a reason he's considered bottom tier. you punish your opponent with what's essential chip damage, nickel and diming them until they're dead. his only real saving grace and what makes him still somewhat playable is his defense buff.

@@AdamSmasherReal that's the point from the existence of low tiers, to have a break from all the buff ones and put your gameplay to test. Everyone wants to play Chun and Ken and have a solid gameplan but at some point it gets boring. Those low tiers might give you something top tiers can't. A real challenge.

His options were pretty restricted. His command grabs, parries and overheads were all on point. I reserve the right to big any ups I feel like bigging and dispense props as I deem proper.

@@blazin_skyYou only say that because you don't understand fundamentals. It's like if you watched Muhammad Ali and said all he does it slip punches and throw combinations. You're not wrong, but it reveals that you have such an underdeveloped understanding of the game that you think the only skill a player can have is execution. Load up Fightcade and try playing Chun-Li like Justin does. You'll quickly realise that what looks like spamming requires impressive footsies and mindgames to not be met with constant counterpokes.

Deadass want Q in SF6 so bad. His fighting style was so ahead of the curve in how grounded in reality it was compared to the rest of the cast, it would be perfect for this game

7:57 it's subtle, but something real cool happens here. Q uniquely has throw invincibility on his standing animation as he leaves crouch. So just by teabagging this guy just ghosts your grab
