Typically these fake products are usually awful quality, but this one here has certainly impressed me, even if it still is technically terrible. It can play Gameboy games, Mega Drive games and more but struggles with anything above Playstation 1.

I have no idea what Sony was thinking in designing a product with such a narrow field of use for that money ... as I feel about their newly announced game streaming service, which is only useable if you already have a PS5 🤯 But I guess if you have a fanbase that fanatically loyal and stupid at the same time, you can get away with many things ... just as it is with Apple 😅 Which is not meant as hate because both companies have some REALLY great products ... which doesn't excuse their massive at the same time shortcomings.

If I'm being honest, I like the design for the most part. I would love something of a higher quality as an actual piece of emulation hardware. I'd want to see what a $100 version looks like

Funny thing is... if this can play even one game locally, it'll be more valuable to me than the real PlayStation Portal.

Low Key this is pretty good for the price. Imagine if it was in the $100-$200 range with a decent processor, better shell, and better screen. And the buttons were PS glyphs and analog triggers. It would be an awesome device, I'd probably like it more than my rp3+.

If this came out 20 years ago we would've been amazed by a handheld device being able to play videos, music and games in a compact form factor. Now we see this and sigh as yet another ali express product.

We will be amazed by a few things it can do but will still not find it great. Besides I think we had PSP by then and that could also play movies and videos and music etc.

Now that's quite a neat looking design for this Project X console! I've purchased handhelds with that same interface in the past, it's good for only GBA, GB ands GBC games. All other systems you run on this console will have out of sync audio tracks and an unstable frame rate. The Max 2 is slim as well in overall design, would love to see a visual comparison between the two.

Imagine slapping something like Chiaki or PSPlay into that thing and actually streaming a PlayStation 5 game to it. It'll probably do barely fine

Even if we disregard the fact that the triggers are only digital and the screen is absolutely not OLED (and probably not even 720p), the thing has HDMI out which by itself is a plus in comparison.

I was under the impression that the thingy here had Android installed but nope, looks like a cheap Linux distro. Chiaki may or may not even work, especially if this thing has no WiFi bundled

I wish it had a slightly better processor and build quality. It would be an awesome device to use as a dedicated PSP emulator.

It actually looks better and more useful than the real Portal device, since it's unlikely to have HDMI out via USB-C and will be locked down the wazoo

... and THIS... does play games natively. In fact it plays more PS games natively than the original Portal. :( ... SONY why u no make proper handheld? (I like the design too)

Honestly the fake's design is super neat, and the joysticks have LR3 buttons? Already better than the Vita lmao Jokes aside It would be intereating if it was more powerful

Let's imagine a handheld with this design but with buttons and performance of a RP2S, front firing speakers, a decent 3:2 screen, and Android: it would be my heaven.
