Two weeks ago I was within a few dollars of being homeless. By sheer luck I found a decent job and I think I'm going to make it. It'll take me a couple months until I'm stable, but I promise I'll remember your example when I am and do what I can. Thank you brother.

I had one homeless woman run screaming from me.. and more than one homeless person refuse food because they say people try to poison them. I finally showed one that I just bought the fruit from a grocery store and let him choose which one he wanted for him to take it. Mental illness is a HUGE factor, and I'm old enough to remember when they literally closed thousands of mental hospitals back in the 80s and put a lot of people in the streets. Sad state of our world. Thank you for the work you do.

When I retired, I started a car service. It's of long-distance trips. When driving alone I spent a lot of time talking with God. The world is his house & we had lots of fruitful conversations. I rarely went to church as he is everywhere, especially in my car. Now, I am spending time at home & still spend time with him. I feel that he has kept me going all these years. No matter what, it is never loose faith. He is always with you. After all, you are mowing his lawns...

I normally wait till the end of the video to comment but I’m crying for your compassion and the humanity that you gave to these homeless ppl. You’re absolutely right. We haven’t walked in their shoes and we haven’t a clue as to what they’ve been thru. My son was homeless and living in his car at a rest stop just a few miles from our home. He was too embarrassed to tell me and my husband. It was February in northeast Ohio. The day he came by to “visit” was just to say hi. He stayed to eat got a shower and just before he was leaving he asked if he could spend the night. My husband sensed he had no where to go. The weather was forecasting 6 inches of snow and 10 degrees. He stood up and I asked “are you homeless Joey”? He said yes. My husband said ok but just for the night. Your life style is not conducive with ours and we have 3 others boys and we don’t want your influence on them. He said He understood and said thank you. My husband stood up and hugged him and said “Joey, we love you! And this is killing your mom”! His knees buckled and my husband was holding him tight! My ex husband NEVER told him he loved him. This husband ALWAYS loved him and my son excepted it and turned his life around. That was 18 yrs ago and he has a good life now. I don’t know but Dear God in heaven I hope someone gave my son a little smile at least when he was homeless. Let’s all be a little like Kevin and show some compassion and empathy to the needy. And if nothing else … just tilt your head and smile to them.

My mother was a mortgage banker during the early 1990's recession. She lost almost everything when her company collapsed. We spent a few months in a K car until her friend put us up long enough for Mom to get back on her feet. I remember being on assistance. Even as a young child, I felt shame and shamed by people who judged us at the supermarket. I'll never forget those days. Like he said about his shirt: remember where you came from. I recognize my succes is a combination of hard work, privilege, and luck. Many simply don't have that fortune. Always lend a hand to those in need rather than punch down. I know I benefitted from it.

I don't know if you realize it but these are some life changing videos. I remember being inspired by the message when you cut the mini golf course but this message while cutting the yard with deflated 🏀 basketball, well it feels like you are saving my life. I had decided to give up on all my dreams of getting healthy, relationships, God and living life to the fullest. Then I started watching this "I found a house--free overgrown yard mowing". The message I am hearing now is letting me know I've just hit a bump in life's road and there are many more to come and I need to buck up, find solutions and keep moving forward. Thank you and thank your wife because I know you could not do what your doing if she wasn't doing her part. Thank you both and keep up the good work.

I typically watch videos at 2x speed. Especially videos like this where it takes a while to do. You had asked for a comment, so enjoy the bit of read (I comment very little). I had paused the video to do this 🙂 I'm in the process of restoring a yard that fell to the wayside. I've been dabbling in lawn restoration videos due to the before/after so I don't lose motivation and possibly get some knowledge along the way. I'm nowhere close to professional, but my dad was quite the handyman and I've learned some tricks throughout my childhood. This restoration is being done all by hand as well as my tools for a restoration were nonexistent and money was tight when I started. I'm hand pulling weeds, asking friends with chainsaws to help cut down invasive trees (the city doesn't like them), and using all hand tools to edge, dig up parts of the heavier weeds, and dethatching the yard. I'm doing this because the owner was kind enough to extend their hand and home for myself and my family during a high conflict divorce. The job I had was ending, and I had to have a good attorney to help me through the case - so funds were super narrow for about two years. If the offer wasn't extended to me and my family, I would have been homeless and without my cat, who has been there for me since she was a kitten and helped me through one of the most difficult things in life. If the alternative would have happened, I know I would have broke as there wasn't another place for me to go. That simple act of kindness isn't forgotten and I do everything I can to help the homeowner out first. Once the lawn restoration is done, I already have it set up for someone to mow the yard so the homeowner doesn't have to (and a repeat occurs). I plan on doing more for the owner, because that one act of kindness has probably saved my life. I have two close friends who I've also reached out to during my difficult times, who both helped me immensely throughout that time in my life. In return, I help them whenever I can however I can. To anyone else, I seem fine. Not many people knows the extent of what happened or the affects I feel to this day from it. Life can get rough, and it beats people down very hard. To someone who is in hardship, a meal can mean the world of a difference. A simple act of kindness can mean the difference between total chaos and rising above it all. Seeing you hand out meals made tears come to my eyes. When you asked for a comment, I didn't hesitate. Your generosity is the reason for that mixed with your message from the last video I watched of "just go and start your business"

Long story short, I was on the verge of homeless with nothing but the clothes on my back. I'm okay now but will never forget the terror of those days. There were a few people who showed me small acts of kindness. I cannot overstate how much that was worth to me. The gesture itself was welcome of course. What mattered more was that someone cared enough to help. The food filled my belly but it was the kindness from a total stranger that restored my hope and warmed my heart. Go through your days being as kind as you can be to those you meet. You can always be generous of spirit even if your wallet's empty. See if you can make them light up with a smile. You cannot know how close a person is to the edge or how the slightest nudge will lift them up or knock them down.

I’m fairly new to your channel and am enjoying it. I was thinking, maybe instead of mowing vacant places, you might contact CASA, HUD, or senior organizations in your town and ask if anyone needed lawn-care and couldn’t afford to pay for these services. Oncologists or hospitals might be able to tell you if cancer patients need help for a while during chemo treatments. I wish there was a national volunteer help site where people could volunteer a little of their time each week in each city, and those needing it could find a little help. Not just lawn-care, but carpentry, painting, dog walking, etc. So many people want to help, and so many need it, but nobody knows where to look for either one. Sorry about the long rant. You are doing a fine thing, and are to be commended.

I’d love for you to do a drive by of this property now to show us what the realtor etc was able to do with it - landscaping, cleaning up the house itself. Did it sell? Anyone living there now? Would be really cool to see what happened to what you started! I really admire you for helping out so many homeless people with food and money. We never know what anyone else is going through or how they get to that place. Not ours to judge, but to lend a helping hand when we can. I try to do the same when I can. ❤️

I think your an amazing person Kevin, you and your lovely family believe in the words of our lord and savior and doing what he would have done to ease the suffering of others and feeding the poor and enriching the lives of others. You are doing the work of the Lord and he is helping you in return. You are an amazing person and seeing Maddie helping Rachel cleaning grave stone in one of your other videos and seeing how she genuinely wanted to do it was great to see. Too many people today spend too much time inside playing video games or using their computer and not getting the fresh air their body needs to survive, being out doors and working is a great thing to be doing, but when it is something you love to do it enriches your life in the process. I have been a gardener since i left home at aged 16. I started with potted planters then as time went on my gardens have grown as well. I got seriously sick about 12 years ago now and i literally almost died as a result. I would love to have had someone come in a mow my grass and pull the weeds out of my yard i didn't do much to it for just a little over a year. i tried to take care of my lawn at least. A neighbour two doors over knew the situation and notice i was taken into hospital for a week, He took it upon himself to take care of my front yard. I have been eternally grateful for his help. Where i have lived before i never got any help from anyone not even family which is very sad. What you did for those homeless people you have given them hope which is a fragile thing to have. Hope means someone cares and you Kevin gave them that by the kind gifts you gave them. If i had you infront of me now, i would hug you. You rock dude!

OMG. You're spot on. I became homeless after my mom died because I went into a deep depression for a very long time. I am still struggling to this day. I discovered that callousness that you just spoke of.. now I want to say that I did come across some very nice empathetic and caring people who did help me through that but there were far more people who would be downright abusive to me. Most people would tell me about all the funding that was available to me. Well, guess what folks? That is a myth. There is not government funding for homeless people. The women's shelter in my area are for domestic abuse victims. There isn't a shelter here for a woman who hasn't been abused. There is no money to apply for. I honestly don't know what the answer is, but I do know that if more people did what you are doing it darn sure wouldn't hurt anything. So thank you for all you do to help others! You are making a difference.

I love watching the grass cutting, but it's you helping some less fortunate that touched me this time! I know what it is to be down on your luck and be homeless due to a situation beyond my control. I know what it is to go 4 or 5 days at a time and not have anything to eat while smelling several restaurants knowing you can't afford to buy even their cheapest item. All the while people passing by and judging you like you're some kind of heavy burden to them. Had it not been for someone willing to help me, I'd probably still be homeless. You have no idea how much you just blessed my soul when I watched you help them! May God continue to bless you bro!
