i truly miss the days when you could just walk into a store and buy any Skylander you could find, now all we have are second hand figures and nfc cards

This video reminded me of a great story. Back in 2013 during my first ever Skylanders haul at my local Toysrus, i saw a misprinted series 1 zook figure and thought that it was a special variant. i put it on the display kiosk, and i became an instant fan of zook. i wanted to buy it when i suddenly realized that i couldnt afford it because i already had like 5 figures in the cart. I left it there, and forgot about it until late 2021. I was at a game store that had used skylanders in a big box. i saw a zook figure, and thought it looked familiar. It was the same zook from all those years ago.

I haven’t really thought about Skylanders in years but this video instantly flooded me with nostalgia

I miss the Skylanders aisle. That and the games themselves were magic to me as a kid.

Using the games soundtrack is what truly brings me a feeling of nostalgia here. Wow such memories of cheesing the game with stealth elf after leveling her up to max.

Ah the good old days when all the kids thought this was magic and you were actually bringing the characters to life. 12 years later and the only company still making NFC figures is Nintendo's amiibo, and it's only occasionally nowadays.

The Toys to Life Aisle was definitely the most nostalgic thing to me about TRU's last decade alive. Action figure aisles were never as full as that, but i never thought that it would only spell doom for the whole concept. Anyway, I just happen to have the display of Lightseekers, but just the light-up AR board since the display didnt work.

That's a really good investment, especially if you ever decide to sell it say 20 years down the line and keep it in good working condition. It'll probably be the only one worth a lot

im turning 15 in two minths and i used to play when i was 6 and my dad has spent hundreds on dollars on skylanders and now i have a whole trunk of the skylanders from every game and it could prob go for 1000 but i dont want to give it away cus the sheer nostolgia it gives me wants me to keep it forever and seeing this vid wants me to get one of those kiosks but theres no way im gonna find one for like trap team or immaginators in that condition you have for 350 lol. but nice job finding a working one and its nice to see poeple still caring about the game even tho its been years since a game

I've been lightly browsing for a display for years (that isn't $2,000 on ebay), congrats on the find! All I've managed to get is a plastic Spyros Adventure logo retail sign that is roughly 17"x9"

Of course the closest Skylanders to Spyro are, Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy, Stealth Elf, and Eruptor. Literally one side is Spyro’s og Skylander trio, and the other was Spyro’s Academy trio. It feels oddly appropriate for something probably unintentional.
