@@thebluehat6814 I don't see how that takes away from the complexity. I mean they certainly didn't create the game while restricting themselves to seeing one block at a time. What they did do is make hundreds of individual puzzles that then turn into interconnected and interdependent puzzles with layers on layers of puzzles (per room) that require puzzle solving just to traverse. I think you underestimate the amount of effort and ingenuity to come up with this and make it functional.

It might be the cutest puzzle game of this caliber ever, but I agree with everyone else: it's not worth being called THE best puzzle game. But... possibly the best puzzle game of this year. I can see that.

Hey, because the game isn't clear on what a home capture is: You need to catch it in it's own level. It does NOT have to stay in it's home level, just finish there (though W-7 and the invisibun I think already proves that) You CAN stack them, but once you stack them, you have to be able to catch them in the same way you'd catch a single bun. In other words, they can't have their pathing altered by being in a stack. You'll know if this happens if the stack wobbles.

Even this is slightly inaccurate. It's a pain, but they can't even really walk past burrows when stacked. As Teamwork Dragon would have a much cleaner solution than what it does, if they were able to walk past burrows. Except when they can, for whatever reason.

@@thexp905 That's why I said "pathing altered" and mentioned the shake. For those curious, a bunny will stop at an intersection when heading down a tunnel. If it's an intersection only because of a bunhole, then the stack will wobble at that point then keep moving to a true intersection. It's also worth stating, though there is... maybe only one? case where it's necessary or even possible to mention, a bunny stacking in a hole and breaking a tile does NOT automatically break Home Capture's rule. But you'd have to be able to chase the bunnies through from there, not corner it there (as it will try to go back down the tunnels and thus shake)

@@thexp905 Not quite true. If they are running past a burrow while chasing a carrot, they won’t wobble, and still counts as a home capture. At least one level requires this

Fun fact: The achievement for catching THE GOLDEN BUNNY is actually a reference to Case of the Golden Idol, so Tyler's reaction at 4:13 is very fitting

There's a lot of funny references to a lot of the great puzzle games in the achievements. You're probably aware of all of them, but here are the ones I recognize. Sokobun/Sokobun+ - references to the block pusher genre as well as the + games Buntaker - Helltaker Case of the Golden Bun - Case of the Golden Idol Can of Bunholes - Can of Wormholes Bunny's Bunbox - Patrick's Parabox A Bunny's Expedition - A Monsters Expedition Toki Buni - Toki Tori BUNY IS FLEE, TRAP IS CATCH - Baba Is You There are plenty of other game related achievements, but those are all the puzzle ones I'm aware of.

The layers just never ends. At this point, the innermost layer has grown into a full blown cake, and we are ready for serving number two in these series, with more to come i'm sure. Initially didn't care much for this game but damn do twists keeps coming and the puzzles keep intriguing. Thanks for this, editor and Aliensrock!

If you put 137 bunnies into one stack, that would produce 9,316 babies. That’s because the first bunny can form 136 unique pairings, the second 135, the third 134, and so on. The sum of all consecutive numbers from 1 to n is called the “nth triangle number” and it can be calculated with the formula n*(n+1)/2.

And now he's more or less at the endgame I'm at (so many babies to hunt...). Look forward to it. Home capture mechanic spoiler (which the game isn't good at explaining): For a home capture, Bunnies can't "fail to go in tunnel" due to being stacked. I.e. the wiggle they do before moving on. Notably, they can still stack, as long as they then don't try to take a tunnel. More notably, they can tunnel burst too. This takes a while to pick up on, since it only seriously comes into play in only a few places. E.g. if you push a stack into a glitch bun and capture it there, it's a home capture. But if you drag in another bun to a room to stack and use it being unable to tunnel, it's not a home capture.

actually to add on, as long as the stack does not affect path finding, it still counts as home capture, this does result in a few places where bunnies seem to shake for no reason, but that's because if they weren't stacking they would have stopped on that sqaure, and the pathfinding was affected, which immediately invalidates the home capture

This game is absolutely insane, and getting the baby bunny pillar is *a lot* of work. If you get stuck on it and run out of ideas, there's a spreadsheet in the discord with merely the possible combinations of bunnies, without telling you *how* to get them, meaning you can focus on solving the puzzles without having to worry about if what you're doing is just impossible. And it's still quite a challenge even with that information in mind

And this video finally shows the core of the puzzle development system: if more captures are possible then intended, make them part of a different goal! Which leads to a marvellously simple process, compared to how it is to unwind. You simply make the puzzles one at a time with intended captures, (home captures), then discover all the consequences of the tools that you gave players for those solutions, (baby bunnies), and then discover all of the unintended places you can go as a result and place glitch bunnies at interesting examples of those. *That's it*. The dev literally did not have to plan most of the mental labyrinth, they just had to discover it as they made it. Players then discover first how to capture bunnies, which can be done with any method and therefore is easiest, and then how to make all the home captures, and then how to make all the babies. To the players, this is a labyrinthian megamaze of possibilities that keeps unfolding. To the dev, this was a *counting problem*. Which, by the way, they crowd-sourced onto the first wave of players to play the game :p The only extra step needed to make it all extra-sweet is to strategically place levels with extra tools down at the right places to aid in natural discovery. And since they had more of those than they needed, they ended up blocking in a lot of those with un-diggable walls.

[No spoilers beyond video content] Just in time, I just got the final home capture! That n19 level is sooooo hard! The best way to put it is that you need to figure out some obscure-ass rules kinda like you would do in "Understand". Absolute mind-bending puzzle. Good luck, Tyler! 16:40 Hah, I rewatched because I remembered Tyler found a different solution than I did, and just "But I can't catch it here . . . and on the other side, there's a pillar blocking it". Yes, that's exactly how you make the home capture :p And then he puts two and two together just 20 seconds later, this time coming from the bottom, and completely doesn't realize he just discarded that for the same reason it's a solution XD

This game is amazing at teaching you mechanics without an explicit tutorial. Like yeah you get told how the tools work but otherwise the only thing that guides you on how a lot of the mechanics work is level design.

Tyler got every mechanic now but one technicality remains (but It is very important for later so): A "Home Capture" with stacked bunnies works but only if the stacked ones would never want to go into a tunnel. (When they want to and can't, they have a "!" above their head for a moment) Honestly it is only relevant for one room but if you don't know about this, then it is impossible.

The tunnel in the leftmost wall in S-24 was cut in my version of game, which means another tunnel sex is needed to reach the right bunny. Well, one more tunnel sex is needed anyway.

home captures are a tricky thing which you have to figure out the rules for since one of the levels requires a very in-depth understanding of homecaptures to get. Its not as simple as it seems
