Casual Magic of the Day: I've been feeling so much more myself recently. The last week I drenched myself in self love. Yesterday, I found a trail of coloured stones decorated by children that formed a caterpillar. They were inviting strangers to add their coloured stones so that collectively, we'd bloom it into a butterfly shape. It made me smile.

You should definitely read "Chavs the Demonisation of the Working Class" by Owen Jones. It is a really important book about the history and deeply derogatory nature of the term. It is shocking how such classist language has seeped into everyday flippant comments and perpetuates a sense of snobbish hierarchy.

Just a PSA - don't randomly go to some guy's tent (even if you're with friends) especially when you think their high, ESPECIALLY in a different country. I work at music festivals and I get it - they're places to have fun, go on weird adventures and meet loads of new people but this whole ordeal makes me so worried that this is a 'normal thing' that people joke about. You have to be really on it at festivals bc even if you think you're a good judge of character, people really can just flip from one extreme to another and that's when things get scary. Just please please please be sensible and as Jade says - don't be "polite" or "nice", get out of there and tell as many people. as. you. can. (news travels quick at festivals and it's important to protect other people!!)

@@izzigodley8706 YES! Safety ain't a joke, people! Sad as it sounds, young women are particularly vulnerable to being manipulated, or pressured into unsafe situations. Thank goodness Jade kept her head, and was never alone with that guy, no matter how "spiritual" or "harmless" he seemed. My alarm bells went off, the moment she had to disclaim "he wasn't creepy" and she "didn't feel unsafe". I mean, it says something, that she even had to say that? Bursting into her space unannounced, calling her "his soulmate", and telling her "the stars aligned" for them to meet? I've heard that before, and that was from the survivor of an abusive relationship. That was how the perpetrator asserted "ownership" over her (as "HIS soulmate"), and love bombed her, before they officially got together. This dude could be perfectly harmless. Or he could potentially be a predator. Either way, not ok, and glad Jade was with a friend, and kept herself safe.

@@Nancy-um9us The guy was high-key persistent and low-key creepy? For someone who was supposedly "high", he sure had his sh*t together, and managed to find out the location of Jade and Casey's tent, so he could burst in unannounced the next morning? More power to Jade for keeping things real, and reminding us to remain firm on our personal boundaries, and be safe during our travels.

This guy would have freaked me out so bad. Some mid 20s guy targeting solo travelers (which are much more vulnerable than tourists in groups) + they’re teens which makes it creepier. Also he was in their tent while they were asleep he was either super out of touch with reality or had shitty intentions.

@@isabellemay9071 No. Your gut could be screaming, and bad sh*t could still go down. Especially when you throw drugs into the mix. All well and good to say that guy was a "harmless hippie", after the fact. But things could have turned out very differently. He was persistent, he was creepy, and he tried to pull off a classic "love bomb" move with the soulmates-and-written-in-the-stars bullsh*t. He tried to get Jade alone, by claiming Casey was asleep. When they left, he stalked them back to their tent that night. The next morning, he burst in unannounced, and had to be asked to leave. Not cool.

A lot of these (the graduate in the first story as well) are really creepy examples of men in their 20s going for teenage girls... I think you will view these differently when you are a little bit older, and I think it's not good to glorify these kinds of predatory experiences for your teenage viewers.

Festivals are my most favorite hobby. Especially working on them for some money, food and free (backstage) entry. There is no job, that is more fun than this one. It is like holiday and travelling. work is so easy going because of the people you meet. Funny and open people they are, strong characters. Love it. So i have an unlimited amount of festival stories which keep me going until the next festivals. once me and my colleague met a guy from the jägermeister band backstage, who invited us to their show. In the evening we met up after their show and went back with them to their tourbus with some free drinks. In the middle of the night the crew of 15 people told us that they had to play another show for the VIP and press people. And if we would like to come with them. Of course we agreed :D they gave us the classic orange jägermeister shirts and some instruments to sneak into the area in front of the security guy. It worked. Damn we were inside, i thought it would be more impressive, but there weren't any famous people as far as i could see. But still we were inside. Incognito. But we didn't have a job, hanging around was no option. We decided to give out free shots, got some from the main bar. In the end we were sharing a small amount of shots with the press people during the small concert of the guys. trying to animate the audience for some party. Which was kind of successful and fun (and embarrassing) , because nobody knew us. After all we sneaked out again, got back to the bus, high on vibes, sharing some more drinks and stories with the guys of the band. That was an fantastic evening. :D Check them out on KZfaq. The Jägermeister Blaskapelle is quite fun to watch :)

As someone who grew up on a council estate, had free school meals and couldn't even afford to go to the cinema I gotta say I didn't know chav was a bad word! I use it for the kind of teenagers I see in my hometown who litter, are generally quite rude and disrespectful etc. But thanks for the education fellow commenters! Just saying don't get mad at Jade for using it, we're all learning and that's a good thing ~

what a load of bs she clearly states in the replies to someone in this comment saying she finds the term comical why doesnt she educate herself on the roots of classism as well as BLM

@@aazeem398 a lot of people do use it as a joke? Like me and my friends used to say it in a jokey way and thus I didn't think anything of it because none of us knew?

The last festival I went to, I met a two year old called Eli and we vibed sitting on the floor of a tiny music tent, playing with balloons. Bit of a different experience but wholesome all the same :))
