@@mee091000 We literaly need all 4 Lord souls, plus other souls of other powerful beings, and the literal rage of an entire race for us to sligtly hurt HOLLOW Vendrick. And he still can kill us with just two attacks while mindlessly swinging his sword. Prime Vendrick is a scary concept to think about. He would likely erase us from reality with his presence alone, and I have no doubt he would be able to go up against and defeat some Elden Ring characters.

​@@Ivory5547 Yeah man to enter the castle it self u have to be a great hero ur self (deafting all 4 great souls) or (collecting 1 million souls) And to get a fair fight with venfrick u have to get all 5 souls of the giants and as we know they r rare beings only 4 of them exist in the true world (last gaint _ twin forgotten giants _ and the ancient dragon) U has 32× his defense if u don't have any giant souls every giant souls lowers his defense by half Btw u only can get 2 giant souls from true world the rest r from the memories And vendrick has a stronger bosses as his guards (velstad and fume knight) They only reason he was deafted is beacuse nashandra tricked and coursed him

It was shown off on one of the early DS2 trailer, shame it's such a rare attack.

It was originally supposed to be more common, but the devs were worried about player frustration from a big sluggish enemy being able to backstab them.

Backstab with a large weapon* Backstabbing a large enemy usually does a horizontal slash, while that was the normal humanoid backstab with the large enemy backstab kick/backstab start.

So this is partially wrong, turtle has two DIFERENT KICKS, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qNGihdp6u5bXqYk.html&ab_channel=RayDhimitri, & kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bZ5kpMiKxMezh2w.html&ab_channel=RayDhimitri, in kick one turtle uses Right leg, kicks and steps back, this is the similar DS1 kick and is used for the backstab like in the video, in kick two it uses the LEFT leg and steps forward AND LET'S go of it's weapon, this is specifically shown in response to blocking. So just DID MORE research, all DS2 backstabs use a starting right kick, even when the character knocks down the tree shortcuts it's a right kick, same with DS1, and DS3's kicks, as far as I know this is the only time in FROM that ANYONE uses a left kick but finding video's of various kicks is hard. The backstab turtle does is the same as axes, and the trailer shows the same kind of right foot backstab.

I was just about to comment this. Do a backstab with a large club type weapon and you’ll kick out the leg and slam the club down overhead. I’ve never seen an enemy so it tho! Great stuff man :)

SOTFS Twin pursuers in the throne room actually did the sword wave attack against me AT THE SAME TIME upon spawning, so lol

He also uses his stabbing move over his shield whenever you parry him too much in quick succession. If I remember properly I did parry him 5 times in a row and he ducked down behind a shield and did his stabbing attack 3 times. He never used it against me anymore only that time after the parries.

The blue projectile attack happened all the time even before Sotfs for me. Plus the sword grab

I swear I saw him do a move I've never seen. He lowered his sword then hovered after me and when he got close he struck. Think the distance charge attack except he hovers precisely and his sword hits more lower mass, sort of like he's trying to chop my legs off. Happened in the Bastille when he got me with his blue stab.

same and i honestly think him appearing again a bunch of times throughout the early game is a really cool gimmick. going round minding your business and hearing the low breath sound is a cool experience and the fight is still fun even after 1000+ hours despite it being fairly basic

@@dragonviper7925 It was a missed opportunity not to have Pursuer "invade" you once in all 4 of the Lord Soul area branches, each time with a slightly different weapon from his backpack, like a greataxe, greatbow and greatlance. He still has one of the most elaborate movesets of almost all the early bosses in the Souls franchise with ~10 possible attack, pretty much on the same complexity level as DLC bosses in DS1, just with scaled down HP and damage.

@@lunarbreeze5019 I totally agree, I'd cut out the Lost Bastille invasions, put invasions in the gutter 2 bonfire room, keep the smelter invasion, and the Doors of Pharros, on the main route past the spiked walls, and have the twin pursuer fight be against him plus a much weaker second pursuer that revives, like pontiff clone. Gutter invasion would have him rush you down with two of his smaller axes, Smelter would have a more technical duel against the big axe, and Pharros would see him throw smaller weapons at you to knock you off the narrow walkway, and trying to run away to Tseldora when you get close. Each would give you a new weapon, you'd get his soul and the chance to buy his set after throne room pursuer, and his sword would more closely follow his own attack trajectories, the 2H would have an L2 of his dark missile attack, and his shield could powerstance with it to let you float and give you his moves, including the pokes.

Yeah, in the double pursuers fight they constantly throwing those slash like it's nothing, I guess it's because the double boss ai make one of the them always keep distance from the player

I'm surprised this attack is considered rare, I actively try to avoid it because it killed me several times. Her "side" spit however caught me offguard once, never knew she could do that.

Never heard of this one, I'm definitely curious about it. It might be rare just because no one really tries to fight the tree at long range. Honestly most DS3 bosses you just wanna hug anyways so I wonder if other bosses have some kind of "rare" ranged responses.

I had the dancer do a weird variation of her fire explosion, she randomly slammed her hand into the ground instead of doing that little prayer.

not the big red circle aoe, which is pretty common, its the load of flaming projectiles from the spiders abdomen

IIRC zullie did a video on it, the quaelaag aoe is actually a variation of the tail cutting mechanic, where her abdomen has hp and it triggers the attack once it reaches zero (and then resets to full), so its very rare or very common depending on if you attack her face or back

I have literally never seen that attack in almost six years of playing Souls. It's probably because I always hug Quelaag's side where it's safest. I almost never focus on the abdomen. I've also only seen Midir's grab attack once. Or, to be more precise, I've only been hit by it once, and that was because I was trying to get hit by it on purpose. You pretty much have to be standing still when he does the attack in order for it to work, which no one who's actually trying to beat him would ever do.

I feel it, not quite the same but I wore in the sunlight maggot and Nito just stood in the back spamming grave lords dance, I straight up had to look up if the fight was bugged because I had a horde of skeletons and curse death sword every 3 seconds.

@@Ghorda9 The problem was, I had to run up to him, aggro THE ENTIRE crowd of skeletons, and he would STILL do it, when I was wading through the mess of skeletons, AND grave lords sword builds up toxic crazy fast and is hard to dodge, just not brining in a light turns it from the hardest fights to one of the easiest.

I was able to see that, and Actually to get damage from that, playing the seeker of fire mod, also i saw a lot of rare moves from the pursuer as well, that MOD make the mobs more fast and i guess it help with the rare moveset, good Experience

Well.... Its really rare if you dodge all of the attack....

throne watcher/defender have a tonne of rare moves. i never fight defender after he buffs though so didn't know about this one

semen of dong has loads of rare attacks too. he has 2 variations of the water jet, 2 different jumps and a super super rare quick jump attack which is practically impossible to dodge. due to the hitbox being active almost immediately. grab is fairly common but it is actually a challenge to get hit by it since its so telegraphed. its a shame he dies so quick because the water jets are cool.

That one specifically does those often even without the grab.

its fairly common on the miniboss versions especially due to the scenarios you find them in. for the boss however it is incredibly rare due to the strange requirements and pure rarity

That's the effect of the ninja ring OR more likely in your case if you're using a curved sword or dagger and do a kick attack, [half-step+R1] you do a slash backflip.

tw/d have so many rare attacks but most of them you won't notice. they have fast variations of most of their regular attacks that show up super rarely (it might even be an animation glitch), both have an aoe and watcher has a very rare projectile. defender may also have some rare moves when buffed since his moveset changes but i never leave him alive long enough.

Perhaps the boss is less likely to do them so the fight is more consistent as it's a very early fight.

I'm pretty sure the difference is that all non-boss versions already have the curse-effect he gets from stabbing you.
