This creature that came out of your aquarium is likely a dragonfly nymph due to the vegetation it was attached to, which means it is going through the process of metamorphosis. This dragonfly is called a darner dragonfly and their really beautiful which I describe them the master of the skies.

Their pretty wicked predators both adult and larval from there mouths look like they have 2 joins and can eat their prey at range and at fast speeds like a mantis they are also great at being sneaky and camouflage to help it blend into the environment which their prey is mostly small fish and tadpoles and when it done growing it will shed it skin not like a snake but rather a cockroach or crab leaving it's shell and grow wings and up to lift off If their are any mistakes please let me know Thank you

Ameir corrected saying it is a nymph changing exoskeleton (as opposed to the hatching of adult dragonfly she thought it was). Then ameir identified the species n said some cool facts. So shut the fuck up n go hate on other people instead of those just trying to be nice n educate.

Please be safe if you don’t know this: you can’t take care of a dragonfly till it’s adult because it has to get its own food. and don’t put your finger in their mouth. They will bite your finger like it’s french fries. I don’t know much about dragonflies. But I hope this helps. edit: WTH TYSM FOR THIS LIKES :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I think it's dead, dragonfly nymph usually climb to high places away from water when they're about to become dragonfly so their wings can properly spread out and harden. So unless the one you found is just shedding to become a bigger nymph, it's very likely that it's dead

You should have a separate tank for them, Dragonfly larvae and adult Dragonflies are the main predators of mosquitoes. Very helpful during mosquito season

As someone who have dealt with those before: KILL IT. It will be hell if it in some way reproduced in your other fish tanks The reason I said kill it was because I have a pond with fish and it will kill the fish. Obviously you could just throw it in your neighbors pond💀

Better make sure there aren't any more in there. Dragonfly larva are extremely proficient predictors and they aren't really bothered about size so k wouldn't put it past them to try (and possibly succeed) to kill an axelotel

I actually let dragonflies land on me (idk how I just train them to trust me within 5-10 mins) i am sad it ain’t warm enough where I am rn for them TvT. Plus the first one I that ever landed on me died a couple months ago TvT I have also saved one form the cold- how, I have no idea :> I suggest letting him/her free when they get better or, do what you want. I just love my Dragonflies

They need to go through the last shed (its happening right now) above water. The nymphs climb someqhere high onto plants that stick out of the water, where they roll out of their old exoskeleton. So i believe its already dead
