Ultimately it didn't change much, but I feel like looking at the cards the opponent's buying is kind of strange. Like it's kind of unavoidable if you have to go to the same vendor to find something, but just seems somewhat unsportsmanlike.

Kai just BARELY making his first two land drops in game 2 was quite something

its very impressive that Kai was able to put together an extremely powerful and cohesive splinter twin deck for under $100. he cast treasure cruise on turn 2! after keeping a zero lander!!! busted

Someone should really tell these pro players that drawing for turn happens _before_ "at the beginning of your draw step" triggers (like Howling Mine).

I love this type of videos with the time pressure to build a deck. I liked Toffel idea of a turbo fog with a fastbond - zuran - crucible combo. The crucible also helps with constant mists, and the howling mine too. Unfortunately, splinter twin is just too consistent

Man I love this series! Keep them coming cardmarket. It would be cool to see the deck lists before or after the games, or maybe a little more time to build a sideboard or a more concrete deck. Best mtg channel out there, thanks card-market!

My first thought was immediately either build Turbo Fog or Living End since 90% of the cards that make up these decks are commons. Glad to see Thoralf went with Turbo Fog, such a strong archetype on a budget.

I'd try to find something like Main 1 Cavern of Souls 4 Lotus Petal 4 Glistener Elf 4 Slaughter Pact 4 Chancellor of the Annex 3 Giant Growth 4 Summoner's Pact 4 Pact of Negation 4 Fanatical Strength 4 Predator's Strike 4 Elvish Spirit Guide Side 4 Backup plan 4 Advantageous Proclamation 2 Echoing Boon (on glistener elf) 1 Brago's Favor (on fanatical strength) 1 Brago's Favor (or predator's strike) 1 Immediate Action (on glistener elf) 1 Power Play 1 Summoner's Bond (on glistener elf and elvish spirit guide) Try basic forest instead if Cavern of Souls is too much, but rest of stuff is pretty cheap so should be doable.

If its aggressive and low to the ground go 22. 4) Add 12 interaction, 12 filtration, 6 bombs. 5) Start pushing the curve in a direction that matches the decks paradigm. 6) Force answers by presenting a game ending threat every turn

Thoralf's experience showed in the claricty and calmness. But Kai just went full blown deadly combo. No mercy. The animations and the game in the end are really nice, very nice production.

There should be a draft phase beforehand where players chose their vendors. Therefore they wouldn't be able to spy on the other one!

11:45 I didn't know Fog had a K in it.

Round one, he could have tapped a land with pestermite (the last one he makes with splinter twin has an unused trigger), and then cast daze for the win. EDIT: Thoralf could just cast fog in response to play around daze, so that play would probably have been better, but would result in the same game state of Fog resolving.

Sometimes it really is amusing to see how cheap some very good cards are because they don't see play in a format or might be banned in a format or two.

Were they given a banlist or something? Theres so many great cards that cost less than a dollar as a playset. Brainstorm, Dark Rit, Grave Titan, Reanimate surprisingly with the Outlaws reprint, and Buried Alive plus the Surveil Lands which cost about $6 a piece. Dimir Reanimator is 1000% possible with that budget the only expensive pieces are the duals and the force of wills!

I think the fog deck is cooler conceptually, but oh well
