Bryson's golf advice is gold. A proper instructor works with the individuals body mechanics and tendencies to build a good swing, and not try to make the individual conform to what is perceived to be the "ideal swing".

100% Regular golfers don't have hundreds of hours to practicing the ideal golf swing. A lot of golfers have to work with what they got, and what is comfortable. A good coach will take a golfers natural swing, implement some adjustments, and make their contact more consistent. Unless you are truly training for a competition or something, a golf lesson is supposed to help simplify your game and make it more fun. Too many average and below-average golfers bogged down by unnecessary swing thoughts.

I went to golf tech in 2013 and spent $1100 for them to try and get me to swing like Robert Allenby and After the 6 months of lessons I quit golf for almost 2 years it got so bad!!!! The Pro wouldn't listen to me when I said I AM NOT ROBERT ALLENBY and I can not swing this way , and they told my I would never get better if I didnt get all my bad habits gone ! Well they were WRONG and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING TO GOLFTECH!!!!!

Love his advice, and it’s something that my coach has preached about to me. Everyone has their own swing, and no matter how much coaching and drills you get you’ll always regress by some measure of a percent back towards your natural tendencies. During practice sessions I work on a really exaggerated in-out swing path not to actually affect the path, but because it keeps my right leg from spinning out early. Other than that, the only swing thought I ever take to the course is exactly what Bryson said early on - giving myself more time at the top. It’s amazing how the simplest things can make a difference massively.

Bryson is a genuinely good dude that just loves the game of golf at all levels in any capacity. Playing, teaching, watching, etc… I know he was giving a lesson to Garrett whose swing is much purer than mine but I took the same advice and had my best round of 2024 so far which was a 76 from 6800 yards. Thanks Bryson!

Bryson, You may be as good if not better a coach than a player and that is said as a compliment. Every video I watch of your coaching is so amazing how you help with such confidence but also with humility. When I've gotten lessons I've always gotten worse from the beginning which makes it difficult to trust the teacher. I also appreciate that you didn't say Min Woo said anything wrong, but added to his teaching with something more valuable. What a great video to watch and I will try and take a bit more time at the top as well to see how it affects my game. Thanks so much.

Speaking of timing LOL, the timing of this video is great. I’ve had to take a couple months off from golf because of moving across the country. Getting back into it and I’m super steep and fast in transition. Was looking back at some of my old swings and I found one video where I paused at the top for maybe a second and then went. Flushed a 4 iron in that video. So I’m also working on a slower takeaway and slight “gather at the top” before I transition. Not a full on Hideki pause but just chill out instead handle drag from the top. Great video and love the way you teach Bryson :) Loved the “don’t BS me” part
