THIS WAS TOUGH! Getting LOST and taking on BAD WEATHER! (Solo female van life and wild camping)
This week I continue my solo van life adventure and am still leaving everything to chance. This leads me to finally find some time getting close to nature with an ideal uk vanlife park up on a reservoir, followed up with some wild camping in a tent in extreme bad weather as I camp in two pretty bad storms!
See how I got on hiking and wild camping on Dartmoor national park in Devon, and if I think wild camping is a better way to get back to basics and really get up close to the beautiful wildlife we have here in the UK... even when camping in the rain and bad weather!

I grew up a couple of miles from Great Easton. My Dad still lives there. What a coincidence. That pretty village was Rockingham and there's a really old castle still occupied by the ancestral family.

Loved this one Lou - cracking scenery throughout and for me no apology is needed for percieved lack of footage. The smiles through (most of) the video were worth watching for. One of my favourite pastimes is just sitting in the local forest watching the bugs do their thing - find it really relaxing. Asfor getting lost - you got it wrong. You are NEVER lost, the rest of the world is simply in the wrong place 😉

So easy with tent, you NEED 2 doors, plus easier to cook in one porch and have the other for access! Fab vlog as usual!

I think the filming for this video has been exquisite. the wildlife filming was amazing and I agree the last sleepover was the best. The time away with Matt at the quarry must have been very special even though the weather was unkind at times ,and you definitely need a tent with sewn in ground sheet. Hello girls the snow chains bought back some memories. Trapped on an aire in France with a foot of snow we spent over an hour trying to fit them,after doing a dummy run in the UK. (FORGOT ) they worked but once out of the aire 30 yards, the roads were clear and the noise from the chains woke the village up. Then found snow socks. Happy travels.

If I had a Matt, I would have him in a shallow grave at the first wrong turn ... marching uphill is my second least favourite activity. Marching uphill , piss wet through, with a full camping kit on my back and blisters on my feet, busting for a quiet five minutes at the back of a tree with a few sheets of dry paper, to be informed that "this is the wrong way", is my least favourite activity. que camping shovel in back of head.

As a regular trail runner and wild camper on Dartmoor I know exactly the spots you camped, Lustleigh and the quarry, both very good choices. The wet weather is always a plus for me as there's less ticks, midges and competition for camping spots. Great video👏

Ive never comented as im always on the sofa with me tv but tonight ive got me pc on and whoosh here you are. Such a great video really enjoyed this im off in May next year as ive had to store my van due to my health and should be well im hoping i better be, im giving up and moving into my small van.
