I have the same model saw and love it. I hated it until I threw away the factory blade and put a good resaw blade on it. I have a 4" Y bungeed to the back with one side to the factory dust port and the other side goes to I believe it's an 8" gulp shroud that I keep lightly zip tied below the table. I also ca glued a toothbrush inside that brushes dust off the wheel. I got that from a WWGOA video. It's been on there working like a champ for about two years.

I am glad you both brought this up, this got my attention lil' differently! I have a Shop Fox Bandsaw and love it! I did do a lot of reviews of brands Cons/Pros about these 2, I ended up with Shop Fox BandSaw, by 4% differences cuz Money to get them is no joke and we want the best of wood making! Yes I have the riser too along with my 14" Bandsaw! Ok Ok, aside of the differences of this 2 Companies, I think what matters most are, patience, use it well and not overdo to damage the blades, in the end, Bandsaw will do as you request this! I have worked with pallets wood, and they come in 5/8" width, I can come up with 1/8th clean cut of 3 pieces ! Just wanna share here!I haven't yet gone up to 12" cutting! You video is great education here and thank you both!!

I too have the same saw with the rizer. Love it! I also bought too small of a saw at first too. This one does everything I need it to do and should last a long time. I have noticed they have considerably gone up in price since I bought mine a year or so ago. It was also nice they paid the freight to my door at the time. I don't know if they do that yet or not. I'm glad I also hooked up a dedicated shop vac to it. That really made a difference. I don't have to wear a mask when i use it now for small jobs. Like you guys say it does coast a long time after you shut it off, but that doesn't bother me, because I will probably be taking the piece to the sander anyhow. Thanks for all the videos! I really enjoy them!

Yeah, I had a Ryobi 9" bench top and went to the 17" Grizzly with 2 hp and cast iron wheels....WOW. Haven't ever used the 14" saw, but I don't ever regret having more power when I am cutting through 8-10" of hard maple or hickory.

We can both resaw a full 12" with the 14" bandsaw so I don't see an immediate need for a more powerful bandsaw. Yes it will do a better job but the 14" works fine as well. It's like the difference between a 5hp and 3hp table saw in my opinion. Bandsaw setup video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mN6GrK6kx9vbioU.html Blade recommendations: 1/2" woodslicer for resawing or a 3/16" 4tpi skip tooth blade from Highland Woodworking for curves. I just put a carbide 1/2" blade on mine and it does cut better but not sure on if it's worth the value or not. Time will tell.

There's no comparison between these 14 inch style bandsaws and a Grizzly G0513 series. I have a G0513X2. Will resaw anything with ease. Heavy duty 14 inch resaw duty bandsaws are also pretty good. A few brands sell them.

Don't know why but the 17" model has a cast iron trunnion accessory available, but the 14" doesn't. Not sure why. It also has dual dust ports. Someone you have done videos with before has the Anniversary 17", but I don't remember who that was.

I have a Laguna 14 twelve bandsaw and all of your comments except for the trunnion construction apply to my saw. I need to use a good blade and tune the saw. Dust collection is poor, especially if I am using a sled or zero-clearance plate.

Buyer beware I previously purchased a table saw and jointer from this company with no problems however, I bought a band saw from grizzly and when assembled it did not power on and had 3 other defects. Reading the troubleshooting guide on page 44 of the manual I realized that I was not qualified to work on the electrical system. Contacting Grizzly I was treated less than poorly. Grizzly finds it acceptable to sell a new machine with corroded wires, incorrectly installed the wiring harness for the motor, defective start ON/OFF switch, Centrifugal and capacitor inoperative etc.… I am not an electrician but Grizzly squarely puts the responsibility on the customer. Under their warranty, Grizzly requires that you will affect repairs on a brand new machine that is defective upon arrival. The only option, disassemble and ship the machine back at your own costs for their evaluation, at which time they will decide to repair/replace or refund and credit your shipping costs. I believe a warranty is an insurance to repair or replace an item that BECOMES defective in time not to ship you a machine that is inoperative on day 1. I have been woodworking for 35 years and bought many tools, I never experienced this lack of quality control and customer support. Lastly upon searching the internet there is strong possibility that I was shipped a refurbished saw. Do read their warranty and return policy carefully. Unfortunately I am not the only one with defective equipment, the below links show that it is common, moreover Grizzly deletes any negative reviews on their “review” website. www.bbb.org/us/wa/bellingham/profile/machine-tools/grizzly-industrial-inc-1296-515707/complaints www.resellerratings.com/store/Grizzly_Industrial www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Grizzly-Industrial-Inc-Reviews-E193090.htm grizzly-industrial.pissedconsumer.com/review.html Good luck
