As much as I agree with everything, lets be honest. How many times did we use the suit powers? Im pretty sure that for the majority, we used em once, said "Aw thats cool." and then immediately switched it to web blossom or whatever the advanced suit had. Come on lets be honest here LMAO

I used the web bombs, electric webs, trip wire, impulse blast, and the Anti gravity lift. The suit power I often used was the supply refill

@Macothegreat Would you rather have a shorter, more focused game with a good story. Or a much longer rpg that takes forever to complete. Its really up the the individual and if you think 25 hours is too short for you than that's fine. For me that's a decent time for an open world game like this.

If it's Mysterio that only Miles is able to complete as I've reasoned from all of the footage we've seen so far, it does make a bit of sense in the context of Peter already having dealt with those baddies, and to rehash it through Miles' younger Spider-Man lens. That's just my two cents though.

He has his own rogues gallery in his more recent run to the point that if one of Peter’s villains pop up they’re usually cool with Miles or it’s a big cross over event. I do wish they hinted at Starling or some of the rogues he’s dealing with in the comics in this game. But I feel they want to show all the main villains people know before getting new ones. Hopefully they work on that in the dlc.

I loved the gameplay and story of this game, i think the story was incredible. BUT i will say that i agree it should’ve been a bit longer. i feel like we didn’t get enough venom, we didn’t get enough kraven also. i wanted to see kraven hunting down each of the last villians and for peter and miles to truly see how dangerous he really is. and i wanted there to at least be 1 chase scene through the city, between venom and the spidermen. whether that’s venom chasing them or them chasing him, i would’ve been thrilled. literally other than that im so happy with it. i feel like *that side mission* with the flame symbol will spill over into DLC. and there was enough hints/setup for the big bad of the next game. yes the story could’ve been longer, but it was amazing none the less

I will always prefer shorter games to longer games. I’d rather enjoy every second of a game than have it feel repetitive and drag on. I just beat Mirage and it felt like one of the only games I beat that didn’t overstay it’s welcome. Ideally you want a game to be both long and good but not many developers are capable of achieving that. The only one I can think of is Santa Monica. But even Ragnarok had a few moments that dragged on.

Wholeheartedly agree. For example, as you mentioned Mirage, I never finished Valhalla. I watched a recap video because after 70hours into Valhalla I was bored out of my mind. Mirage? I’ll replay it probably once or twice. Spider-Man PS4? Beat three times. Spider-Man MM? Twice. Shorter, higher quality with high polish = replayability… at least for me.

Agreed. Also, who has time to spend 100 hours on a game? I even have more free time than most, but I don't want to spend 50 days to complete a game. Shorter games are way more fun. Mirage suffered a bit from lack of post-game content, but I don't believe Spider-Man 2 will. And it being as much as the previous Spider-Man game means I'll love it

I have a concept for a side game mode I’d love them to add post-launch! In the story mode we understandably face each villain as a specific Spider-Man (or maybe both), but it’s chosen for us to fit with the story. What if we want to face a certain villain as a certain Spider-Man but didn’t in the story? They should add a side mode with a new boss stage for each villain, that allows us to fight that villain as either Spider-Man. A new boss stage too, not just a copy & paste of the story mode version. If it’s Kraven, we start in an area against his hunters and at the end we face Kraven - but it’s in a new setting not the same as the story boss fight. Do one for each boss and we have an extra mode where we can grind our favorite boss fights how we want.

Whenever I play an open world game it's always a difficult balance of quality over quantity,I don't mind playing a longer game but I want all the side content to be worth doing which can be tricky to get right. The opposite is also a problem though as say you spend 50 pound on a game,you want it to last as long as possible without everything becoming repetive otherwise you might feel like you wasted your money

If it was any longer then there would be more complaints about side quests than there already are. So I definitely agree. I don't know when it happened that a game has to be 300 hours long to be worthy. I have a ton of open world games in my backlog that I'll probably never play/finish because I don't want to deal with the length. I applaud them for making it the size it is

I'll always pick quality over quantity when it comes to the main campaign. The only major issue I do have with most AAA games lately is a lack of mission/chapter select and/or NG+ at launch. Replay value is key for me to come back to a game with 10-15 hours of story. That's why even a short game like The Darkness 2 can make me come back to it over and over and over again because I can easily jump to any point of the story with all the unlocked powers that I wanted to go with. Tho, if the story is as sorta disappointing as you described it to be, then that's definitely a no-no, especially if it feels like it is teasing either future DLC missions or story segments for a mainline entry that'll take years before we can get to. A lack of cohesive conclusion is definitely gonna be a bummer.

Totally agree on the take about the suits! I already found there were too many in the previous games. I could play with 3-4-5 and pretty much always reverted back to the originals created for the game as they are just very cool and fit in the story. As well the new mechanic definitely gives no incentive to unlock and makes no sense they changed it

Idk how they are supposed to be the same length to complete, because comparing how long it took to complete Mirage to how long it took to complete the first Spider-Man, Spider-Man took longer. And the content in Spider-Man will most likely be better. Quality over quantity. Not every game has to be super long, especially when it's a game like Spider-Man where you can literally spend hours just swinging around and stopping crimes. Unlike Mirage, once I completed Spider-Man at 100%, I could still just play around for fun. There is a major difference between the two Also, don't get me wrong, I love Mirage, high on my list of favorite games. But I have no doubt that Spider-Man 2 will be better

I finished the game in 2 days but only because I really went crazy and played it straight with minimal breaks in between. They definitely topped the first game and and I had some jaw dropping moments as I was not expecting to fight some villains... No spoilers haha

I think the time it takes to get the platinum depends on people. Some reviewers said that it took 30 or more than 35 hours to get the platinum.

I have a family and I platinum ratchet and clank rift apart 30 hrs. I also platinum miles morales 30 hrs. It's a good amount of time to achieve everything If you are busy person.

Well, reviewers said ACM was a 20h game, I finished in 6 days and 40h+, took my time, did everything possible. So i expect it will be the same here, 45h+ at least. Thats ok for me. Also, good to know there is no reason to get the Special Deluxe Edition for outfits I will never use.

You can't unless you activate the sort of rage mode in combat, but for the rest of the game its just an alternate suit

I feel it’s hard to give a review without spoiling things with gameplay IMO. I’m not against gameplay it’s good to know some information before going into the game. The bike riding would’ve surprised me fs definitely not crazy game changer but still different. I cant imagine how surprised I would’ve been if sandman was never revealed with trailer. I bought the console just to play this game and replayed miles morales and currently on NG+ and excited to feel if there’s a difference.

I think I understand why jorraptor said he didn't like the story in general. I saw spoilers both cutscenes and the summary about plot points and events, and if you didn't like peter in miles morales game getting bitch slapped and miles taking his place solving things instead of peter, while peter takes the L's, this happens a lot in spider man 2 with peter. While miles shines, peter takes the L.

Its more Peters story though so he's the one that needs to go through the shit and come out the other side. Makes more sense that the protagonist gets the most character development in the story. Its how most stories work, Luke Skywalker, Batman even character like James Bond. Its nowhere near as interesting to see the main protagonist just do things without major obstacles and turmoil along the way, otherwise you just get an uninteresting marysue. Ultimately it all depends on how they've executed it but there's nothing wrong with the concept of the main protagonist going through the roughest time, ultimately that's how we get a narrative pay off for the journey at the end.

I think 15hrs story mode is a bit too short for 2 spidermen, I expect atleast 25+Hrs story mode . But I haven't play the game so I can't really judge.

This game story was said to be as long as the first game let's not forget this one has a. lot of side missions and boss fights and if you don't rush like a dumbass and speed run everything you easily get 30-35 hours of content that without new game plus and more free roam.

Even hotter take about the suits. I would've preferred no "suit power swapping" mechanic at all. I would've preferred that to use the power, you have to wear the suit. Period. And only be able to change the color. I know its a spicy take, but that would've motivated me to unlock more suits in the first 2 games from sheer fomo.

I felt the same way about the story first half 10 out of 10 second half two out of 10 it fell off so hard it became goofy especially the way the enemy grunts look. The combat mechanics got thrown out the window at times even having characters immune to combat mechanics, No more stealth and it just went in. a direction i was disappointed with. It just became a special ability spamming weird uncomfy rushed second half
