My flavored mints have all arrived and I am so excited to try these out. I've been in love with chocolate mint for years now and am adding even more flavors to the garden.

I just ‘randomly’ got myself 8 mint plants… 😂 I have no idea how I got the idea…. lol I found pear mint and berries and cream mint at my nursery! Also, saw grapefruit mint, but I had to stop myself at some point! Bonus that they were 30% off! Thank you for the inspiration!

I need to order some mint seeds! I searched high and low for different mint plants this year. I only managed to find a few common ones. Apple mint is one of my faves! It's fantastic in tea and cooking and makes excellent greenery in a bouquet.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video and found it to be very informative. It would be wonderful if you could create more videos on different varieties of e.g. "sage", "basil", or other herbs. I really appreciate your content!

I leaned about planting mint in the ground, never again 😂! I have had the orange and apple mint in the past, but I didn't have good luck with them, and they died, but I did like them. I just bought myself a banana and a strawberry they are small, but I can't wait to try them! You said that if they are near each other they can cross polinate 🤔 I'm thinking when the get a little bigger if I should take a couple of clippings and plant a strawberry and banana near each other and see what it taste like 😂. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for the pineapple mint!!!

Put a raised bed of peppermint, spearmint, apple mint, & chocolate mint. Huge mistake! Later learned that their flavors will fuse if planted too close together. They still have a bit of difference between them. However live & learn! I definitely will be looking into the lavender mint.

I too ordered from the site you mentioned and have my various herb flavors. You mentioned some sort of shakers that you put your dried herbs in. I can’t find them in your Amazon store. Can you tell me where you get those shaker bottles. You also mentioned a previous Video about herbs and drying them can you link that as well. Thank you very much. I’m enjoying all of your videos.!!!

Lemon 🍋 bergamot mint sounds great. Do you know if basil mint has a tiny purple blossom when it's blooming. I have a plant where I thought that it is mint but my husband is sure that it is basil 🌿 and he makes pesto out of it. But I never bought basil and basil can't cope with our temperatures in winter. I leave the pot outside. So now I'm really trying to find out what it is. I thought that it is chocolate mint because I took a cutting of that one but now that you mention basil mint 🤔 that makes me think 😂
@ChicagoGardener
@ChicagoGardener Ай бұрын
They do have purple flowers! I’m not sure what zone you’re in but basil definitely wouldn’t survive outside here in Chicago over winter but mint would!

Except for the chocolate mint, I didn't know mints came in those flavors. I'm not a tea drinker, but every year I get a stevia plant and a chocolate mint plant, and I just pluck off a stevia leaf and a few chocolate mint leaves and eat them. Tastes like candy or chewing gum. I'm definitely going to take cuttings of my mint to propagate over the winter instead of buying a new plant each year from now on.

Cilantro is interesting. I grew cilantro and decided to let it flower to see if it attracted pollinators. The smell of a mature cilantro plant was of burnt gym socks. It was so horrible I could barely walk by it. I'm wondering if the burnt gym sock smell is what some people get when they eat fresh cilantro leaves. I can relate.

Cilantro tastes like a bar of soap to me. I read somewhere that it's genetic for how cilantro tastes to different people. I guess I got the soap flavor gene. lol Ugh, burnt gym socks! That sounds horrendous! @@paulacothren3591
