using the original version aswell works so much better than if they chose the cash version. for 2 reasons, 1) nine inch nails fits rick and morty’s style far better 2) the original has way more emotion and works better than cash’s considering the whole concept of the album its from (the downward spiral)

That might not even be their original Jerry, I don't remember what season this episode is in but if it's after the one with the Jerry Jamboree then that isn't the current Jerry in the show. Just like how that isn't Morty's or Rick's original family. I mean even the very first family we meet wasn't even our Rick's, he found a universe with a family that was missing their Rick if I'm remembering the last few episodes correctly. But it would be still be interesting if the antidepressants were permanent or at least semi-permanent.

@max7971 they don't always need them. I'm in the uk and those jobs don't have high turnover. They almost never come up. And the pay is really good. Unemployment centres don't get you jobs. They tell you to get a job or you'll be punished.

Jobs in sanitation in NYC or Chicago pay insanely well for not even needing a high school diploma and people never quit them because the benefits and security are phenomenal.

So what's the downside of the Federation? They are good rulers, give people jobs ideal for who and what they are, have a wide intergalactic trade network that supports a nearly perfect economy, and honestly seem pretty chill so long as you aren't a rebel. Even the annoying bureaucracy seems to be at an absolute minimum. Sure, you aren't really completely free, but it's not like you're any less free than under current Earth governments.
