This Avengers Team needs a spin-off their team dynamic was rly good

This episode definitely could’ve been longer, but I ended up liking it. It even confirms that T’Challa’s grandfather did help the Allies during World War II & willingly donated some Vibranium for Steve’s shield in the MCU (which is generally accurate to the comics). Also, the idea of Hank adopting Quill is an interesting one. At least this variant of Hope would grow up with a sibling.

I want a comic continuation of this team dynamic. It’s way more interesting than expected for Cold War-era Avengers.

This season of what if is actually a big improvement over s01 theres a lot of great what if stories to tell And this episode was great I thought young Peter quill was going evil

Young Celestial powered Star-lord is actually such a cool concept. Super powerful but nieve is always a fun dynamic with a less powerful, wiser mentor.

Nerf and being pro-death of a child aside, Thor had some good moments in this episode. But it's a fact that no one in the mcu cares to read any of the character's runs

So many things changed in this reality and so many more things they could have this 80s Avengers deal with: - Hope is likely to remain Hope Pym in this TL rather than change to Hope van Dyne. Plus Hank could have the backing of Bill Foster, Mar-Vell, and Wakandan technology to try and bring his wife Janet back from the Quantum Realm much earlier. - Mar-Vell still has those Skrulls hanging out aboard the cloaked ship in Earth orbit, and with so many worlds already destroyed by Ego in this TL, its possible they could just be straight up offered asylum on Earth instead. Or even in the Quantum Realm, if Hank's rescue of Janet is successful and they discover the extent of the place. Plus there's the question of if Mar-Vell's plane gets destroyed, who the power unleashed from it is going go into. Danvers and Rambeau are still test pilots with Project Pegasus at this point, and I'm a bit surprised Danvers didn't insist on flying for Mar-Vell during the whole altercation with Quill and Ego as she did when the Kree Starforce found her in 1989. - Ava Starr probably hasn't had the accident with her father quantum experiment yet, and who knows if it will happen at all in this TL. - Thor is possibly the last Asgardian., which makes one wonder how he got to Earth. If Asgard fell, that means Heimdall on the Bifrost were lost with it, and he obviously didn't arrive at Coney Island via the Bifrost. If Earth was the last of the Nine Realms left standing by Ego, that indicates no other Asgardians evacuated to Earth before Asgard was absorbed by Ego. - Howard and Maria Stark aren't going to be killed in 1991 and Tony Stark's going to have his parents rather than be mentored by Obadiah Stane. Tony will also have the example of these earlier Avengers and the US-Soviet cooperation against Ego to look to steer away from weapons development and instead maintain an Avengers team through the 1990s and into the 21st Century. - I have to wonder is Star-Lord is going to maintain his Celestial powers in this reality, or if that seed was just enough of a battery to take out Ego's form on Earth - the final confrontation is probably going to be on Ego's Planet where Quill can go full Celestial. Regardless, he does have his grandfather and other relatives in Missouri to go back to - his grandfather especially is going to have seen Peter in the news and probably is going to want custody of him.

I want more of the 80s avengers

I need to see an animated spin off of this Avengers team. This teams dynamic is great, and the idea of them traveling through space to find and defeat Ego just sounds like an amazing premise for a marvel show.

Lineup should be Cap, Bucky, Namor, original Human Torch (already appeared in First Avenger, time for the Easter Egg to pay off), Isaiah Bradley, Dottie Underwood’s Black Widow, and a short angry Canadian named Jimmy with a tendency to heal from wounds quickly and feral behavior

they even covered Bucky redemption arc in a short time, connecting between antman and gotg 2 main idea. making it best on both fan service and story terms.

Definitely much better than what if s2 episode 1, 8.5/10. It had the potential to be the plot of a movie

This Avengers team was cool, I was hoping since the Soviet Union was willing to loan out Winter Soldier, that we would have also seen younger versions of The Red Guardian and Vostokoff's Black Widow (Natasha's and Yelena's adopted parents from the Black Widow movie). Other active players at this time included Odin, Frigga though these Asgardians probably wouldnt have intervened in Midgard affairs; Wen Wu and Ying Li, though they probably were inactive and living a peaceful life at this point; the Ancient One though she says she never intervenes unless necessary and has remained as neutral as the Eternals and Namor.

It's really cool, worth watching
