I used a dollar store dog dish and an old margarine tub when going across Canada with my dog. It served its purpose. A mattress cover might be advantageous until she is potty trained, but if you keep up your time outside, this may not be an issue. For groceries, many stores let you order online & then pick up if you don’t want to leave her (or if you can’t lock your truck with the AC running & sign saying so in the window while you run in for a few minutes). Life travelling with a pup is by FAR better, even with the initial training. Happy adventures!! 🥰🐶🥰

That Malinois is beautiful! Have you owned one before? From experience, they are a full time job. They will play for hours non-stop, and still want more. An absolutely incredible breed if you have the time and dedication to nurture their needs. I wish you both the best.

You've got your work cut out for you! Beautiful puppy! I'm a german shepherd girl myself, and there is nothing like a great companion. I'm on my 4th GSD and each one has carried me through a segment of my life. Taxi (the only male, found on the taxi ramp of the Staten Island ferry terminal) took me from my 20s-30s, She-she, adopted from a family in Nyack, NY in my 30s, Ayla (named after Ayla from Clan of the Cave Bear) I bought from a breeder in upstate NY when I was in my 40s, and now Rowan, (named after Rowan Mayfair, from an Anne Rice novel) will take me into my 60s. Each one has brought me so much joy, kept me active and always made me smile. The training part can be hard but rewarding when you have a well-behaved friend to keep you company in whatever adventure you are seeking. Best of luck to you and I love the name you have chosen... Zora... meaning dawn and light... Just lovely 😊

I'm sure you did your homework but for anyone else thinking of getting this breed - this is a working dog and THEY REQUIRE A LOT OF EXERCISE. I mean HOURS of physical exercise, not two 30 minute walks. Without exercise and stimulation, they become destructive and hard to handle. They also need a lot of socialization if you don't want them to be dangerous. None of this was said in the video so I'm just letting people know. As far as vanlife dogs go, this breed is a challenging choice.

I have a similar breed dog. Sally adopted me, she was feral stray puppy. I’m guessing she was a handful for her last owners. “Sally” pretty much ate most of my bedding & a few other things!!! LOL! Lucky for me it was all bedding that I had bought at Thrift Stores. Sally travels from Arkansas to California and back, with zero problem. I spend lots of time making sure we/she gets plenty of exercise, training, & walk/running EVERY day. I can’t complain, Sally gives back 10 fold. Your new pup won’t let you have any non exercise days, but I think you’ll enjoy it.

I have that same collar in black on my shepherd. He has been wearing it for about 2 years. Also, not sure what you ended up doing with a dog bowl, but the Ray Allen spill proof bowl is awesome while on the road. I had to order directly from their website.

She's gorgeous and I luv the Zora name :) I'm very happy for u both, but I hope u have patience lol (BTW have u seen Eva Zu Beck's channel) she just got a German Shepherd pup to live with in her truck. Good stuff. Are u familiar with your new puppy breed? Former trainer here.. Malinois are mostly used for military and K9 police work; Great breed, so very smart, high drive, lotta energy. So you'll need her a durable long lasting chew toy like gumabone (not just the cute fluffy animals which they destroy and fails to build her teeth and jaw muscles) but also to help her correctly channel her chew energy or else say bye bye to anything within reach which can also be very dangerous for her the moment you aren't looking for a minute. And she'll get restless even as an adult (she's a work dog) so you'll need to throw ball and 'run' her around to get out her pent up energy or they can get frustrated, depressed and destructive.. That's true of this breed with a house and yard, so in a truck, yeah MUST exercise her :P But if u can manage that she'll luv you loyal for life and keep u safe and be one of the best adventure dogs ever :) (don't forget must expose her/ socialize her while she's still young), with many ppl and other animals so she grows up socially confident and friendly to avert shy/fear snapping which u DON"T want with this breed when she's grown.. U may know all this. Sorry, just trying to help. Check out Eva's btw :)

How are things going with the doggo? That’s a large breed for such limited space so she may get some anxiety from being cooped up inside it so she’ll be chewing and tearing at everything lol. Best To be super sure they get to run daily and get out all the energy
