Looking through a telescope is just an amazing experience. You can literally see a whole other world through the eyepiece! The moon looks even better when it's not full too, because the shadows cast on the craters make them stand out more 🌕🌖🌗🌘

Great reminder that our problems seem so insignificant when we consider the vastness of the universe! Just grateful for a God who sustains it all!

If you see this, definitely look at other objects, too. All seven planets besides Earth are visible with any telescope (and the ones besides Uranus and Neptune can be seen without the telescope); Mercury and Venus go through phases like the moon, when Mars is at opposition in January 2025 you can see its surface features, Jupiter you can see its cloud bands and four moons, and Saturn you can see its rings for instance). As for objects outside the solar system, I like the Orion Nebula the most but some others I like include the Andromeda Galaxy and the Pleiades Star Cluster.

Why does the same side of the moon always face Earth? I think it's lopsided or heavier on one side so Earth's gravity always pulls the heavy side.
