For everyone complaining about him flushing the pills: literally every commonly used opioid pain medication, including fentanyl, are on the flush list, which means he is allowed to flush them and it is safe to do so. It is even an encouraged form of disposal for those with addiction-related issues, so y’all can get off your high horse of talking down to him while missing the major points of the video.

@somexwedie1851
@somexwedie1851 3 жыл бұрын
@@emilyashton3739 um... you can’t return prescription meds. That’s such a hazard for having counterfeit drugs returned to a pharmacy. The safest way to get rid of the pain meds is exactly what he did.
@Just1Nora
@Just1Nora 3 жыл бұрын
No. It hasn't been ok to flush pills for 20+ years. You mix them with soil and water, kitty litter and water, you mix them in with unpalatable garbage or coffee grounds and remove it from your home. The pharmacy will take it back and destroy them for you. They don't put them back into circulation, but if you're afraid of them getting into the hands of an addict the pharmacy will destroy them. And some doctors offices now even advertise drop boxes for leftover pain meds. Twice a year there are also drug takebacks around communities, usually at police and fire stations.
@somexwedie1851
@somexwedie1851 3 жыл бұрын
@@Just1Nora okay, yes, all those things exist, but if you look up what medicines are okay to be flushed, all opioids, INCLUDING FENTANYL, are on that list.

Stop going crazy with the drug on the toilet. If he had decided to use the medication, his metabolism would have let the drug out of his body using orine, and the drug would be in the toilet anyways.

9:41 there was a time in my life that if my pills fell down the toilet I'd do everything in my power to get them out. No matter what was in the toilet. Could of been full of post Taco Bell annihilation and I would of been on my hands and knees trying to get them out. Sucked. Worst like 10 years of my life. But I realized like he did that I don't need them. That life is too important and yes it's going to be a hard and long road to recovery... like really hard. It's been tough but 6 years sober and finally starting to live normally like I used to. I mean. I'll probably never be the same like I was before opioids but you gotta start somewhere I suppose.

@@Cartello_Diamante92 Don't be afraid to ask for help. Go to meetings. You'll be surprised how having people who do exactly what you do and did exactly what you did, will help you realize that you're not alone in the fight to get better. Suboxone is a method too if you're worried about withdrawls. Most psychiatrists who prescribe it will also require you to attend a meeting a month. Get ready for a long.... Long, road to recovery. It's tough so also don't be afraid to talk to friends and family about it. I also found doing mundane tasks to keep my mind off of a lot during the first couple months helped calm my mind. Good luck and best wishes. It's a terrible disease but one that you can beat with a strong head and will power.

I'm just commenting on this mainly because, ever since Ned was (very rightfully removed) from the Try Guys, I keep thinking about this video. In the entire history of Try Guys stuff, I always really enjoyed hearing about Ned's life... I don't want to say "separate" from his role as a husband (LOL) and father, but that helped flesh him out as a person beyond being a Wife Guy. As someone currently in a STEM graduate degree, hearing glimpses of what his life and experience was like as a grad student in the Try Pod was really interesting (even if they were super minimal "yeah i was in grad school" references). And I think a lot about how, in this video, he basically says "I developed an opioid addiction and needed to reach out to my community for support". I think a lot about how he's describing his medical PTSD, about his fears and concerns... and how much of that kind of personal insight got lost outside of the Try Pod. Every other guy has moments that they are avidly open for and about over the past three years, but like... beyond this, we don't get that much from Ned. I'm angry for everyone that Ned royally fucked over, especially Ariel and their two children. I'm disgusted that he violated California labor laws by getting invovled with an employee. I'm so fucking sad for everyone in Second Try LLC who now have to deal with the legal mess left behind. But a very, very small part of me is sad for Ned. How fucking sad it must be to become so absorbed with an image of yourself you've curated for yourself to the atrophy of your actual self, to the point of ruining your own life and the lives of people you ostensibly are responsible for. Get some help, dude. I don't want to hear about it, I'm not sure Ned should try to do more stuff on the internet anymore. But go get some help.

I’m actually really really happy Ned decided to talk so much about the painkiller side of things. It’s such a big issue that so many people have gone through, but lots don’t talk about it, especially not AS THEY’RE EXPERIENCING IT. And it’s a hard decision to make, when you’re in so much pain, to choose not to take the one thing you know will help. Another alternative plan, if you’re worried about addiction but don’t think you can handle the pain without meds, is to give it to someone you really trust to hold on to it for you and just go to them every time you need another dose. It’s not a perfect solution, but I found it just helped a lot to just make myself think carefully about whether I really needed it and how much I needed with every dose. It also gave me some peace of mind to know somebody else was monitoring my doses and checking on me, just to make sure I wasn’t going a direction I’d have a hard time coming back from. But yeah, if you can manage without the meds at all and are worried, then disposing of them and just going without is probably a great decision and people who do make this choice are brave and deserve support.

Ned I’m so sorry that this happened to you, I had an accident 2 years ago (September 2016) and broke 2 parts of my lower spine, and needed 2 procedures to go in and correct the damage. I am 42 years old and recovery is a little harder at my age so you’re lucky that you are younger than me. Also if that wasn’t enough I damaged a part of my left knee joint. So like yourself I did physical therapy twice a week, and was bed bound for about a year. I’m doing much better, but I’m still prescribed 5mg morphine tablet 2-3 times daily as needed, and a prescription anti-inflammatory medication. I think the thing that I’m most sad about is that I won’t ever be able to run, or do Zumba classes like I used to. So Ned the battle is real & it’s a day-by-day struggle but I’m so happy to see you semi-recovered. YOUR VIDEOS ARE HILARIOUS!!
