yup, I've been laid off. luckily I found out the day before my bachelorette so I was able to spend much needed time to disconnect and feel supported by my loved ones.
the truth is this layoff did not catch me by surprise, plus I'd long be re-shifting my savings to ensure that I had a hefty savings account. so in a way I was sort of prepared for this layoff and in a good financial position to accept this news and be okay.
so how can you be prepared too? well first you need to understand what signs to look for that might tell you a layoff is coming.
as for what comes next? taking the rest of the summer to relax, maybe focus on wedding planning and take my time finding my next thing. Plus more time for creating KZfaq videos :)

Ugh on the layoff....but moving back to your previous home is going to be such a leg up. Youll look back on those times and cherish them because of what it enables you both to do in the future and being close to some of your family members. You are a boss! Congrats on your upcoming wedding 🎉

I would add stock price as another sign. Most executives get most of their compensation through equity, so when the stock price plummets, they notice and will implement "measures" to keep stock price up/or stable.

My company is also transparent, but lately i listen more to what they dont say. Orders shrinking and not hiring as much. The meetings are shorter and they quite allowing us to ask questions, unless we just boldly ask out loud.

There job security in medical RN especially cuz there’s always shortage but ppl don’t wanna do it cuz it involves human fluids but once u get use to that u will make bank

People better make sure they keep their finances in check and keep a year or two of an emergency fund. Layoff season isn’t over. This is going to be a category 5 hurricane of layoffs.
