We are a family of avid hunters. Here's a funny story for Matt. When my granddaughter was little and learning the seasons she was asked to tell what the four seasons are. She didn't miss a beat...deer, fishing, turkey and squirrel. Lol..stay safe.

It's so good watching and listening to the two of you, living your best life, growing food and living off the land as much as possible. At 72 years old, healthy and take no meds of any kind, I attribute my good health primarily to having big gardens every year, eating fresh vegetables out of the gardens and freezer, and having unprocessed meats to eat, in the forms of fish, venison, chicken and beef. I love the country life, and being self-sufficient, to a great extent.

Matt is going to really enjoy that cast iron grill. The more you use it, the better it will get. Allowing the grill to season just like your favorite cast iron skillet, will ensure that food doesn’t stick and actually presents the grill from rusting. The manufacturers instructions should detail care and cleaning. I always try to let the grill itself heat up rather than overload with coals. Using some good hardwood can add to the flavors as well. Play with it and have fun cooking. - Tennessee Smoky

Matt's new grill is really neat! It seems he likes it. I know it will come to a lot of good use. The candy I ate as a kid sure isn't as good as it used to be. I guess they started using crummy ingredients. I loved PayDay bars but i bought a couple in the past five years and they taste really stale. Same for hershey's candies. You eat baked potatoes in such a civilized way compared to me. LOL. I put butter on the skin when I'm done with the potato and eat that too. One of my favorite things! Have a good night. take care.

Tipper, this video really hit the spot. I had gone to the store, and picked up fast food to take home so I could eat as soon as I got groceries put away. I felt like I was feasting in the company of family as I watched your video while eating off the TV tray in my lap. Listening to your and Matt's casual talk and banter is always balm to my soul, but this conversation was especially enjoyable. I didn't join in verbally, but I sure did smile a lot. Behind on watching your videos, so about to get caught up while eating dessert. Thank you both so much for sharing your lives. My husband was like Matt. When you would tell him to smile for a picture, he used the smile muscles, but that was all. Maybe you could tuck away some comments that you know will elicit a smile, then use them without him realizing you're trying to get a smile for the camera. :-)

It’s great that Paul was able to bring your Mom to his house. It is no fun when you have plumping problems. It’s amazing how dependent we are on things like water coming out of our sinks, and toilets flushing! I have a wonderful friend whose son lives in the Philippines now with his new bride, more near the jungle than a city. She is always telling me the things her son has to do over there compared to the conveniences we take for granted here. I honestly don’t think I would last very long without my American way of life! I had a cast iron grill just like that and used it out on the porch for many years. I bet mine would have lasted for ever if I would have kept it safe from the weather. It was a perfect grill for 2 people. Keep a small spray bottle of water near by to keep the flame under control. Congratulations on so many years together, looks like your doing it right. Old folks always said if you got a late snow to plow it into the soil. They called it poor man's fertilizer. I've heard that human hair gathered from a barber shop spread around the the edge of the garden kept deer out. Also a man that worked at the zoo gathered some of the animals poo and scattered it around the outside of his garden. It's good fertilizer and he didn't have trouble with deer after that. It won't be long until garden time! Enjoy the calm before the work begins. Also enjoy seeing you guys. Stay safe and GOD bless

It's my understanding that the back strap is the loin muscle and the tenderloin is on the inside of the body cavity underneath the backbone. I have that same grill and I love it. I have had mine for about 10 years and it's just like new.

I'm so happy to get to set down to supper with y'all. I loved watching Matt try out his present, the garlic bread turned out so good and the whole meal looked delicious. Haven't had deer meat in years. Thank you so much for inviting me. It was just like being at the table with my family.

What a terrific gift you gave Matt. He made a delicious meal. Bet he never suspected that he may have to make a habit of making meals. Lol. God bless you both.

How nice to have suppertime with Matt and Tipper, I couldn't enjoy the food, it looked delicious but I sure enjoyed the company. You both are awesome, and make me smile, I laugh out loud when Matt starts cuttin up, don't ever stop. I'm looking forward to more suppertimes when you feel like inviting us all. It's a crowd. 😂 😁 😊
